“The parking structure right behind it can get pretty packed, but we have never had trouble parking there during prime dinner time. We have also never waited to be seated here, although the restaurant is quite bustling. Service is polite and very quick. If you are hungry, come here as your food comes out fast. The soup tastes light, but flavorful. Compared to other pho restaurants in the area, I feel like the broth does not rely on seasonings as much for flavor. They are also generous with the meat in the soups. The large doesn't look much larger than the medium, but it actually is. I can easily finish a medium soup, but cannot finish the large at all.The inside is clean and casual, with minimal decor. Perfect for a quick, casual meal with friends.“

“Had the Pho and Spring Rolls. Delicious! The soup was flavorful and not greasy. The Spring Rolls were very fresh. I highly recommend this place.“

“My husband and I try all of the different bánh mì places in San Gabriel Valley. The sandwiches here are a great although I wouldn’t say they’re necessarily the absolute best, they’re definitely top-tier what I really liked with some of the other stuff they offered like the pork meatballs, and some of the other skewer items. It reminds me of the food I ate growing up in Thailand, and I really love the southeast Asian food it’s very authentic and taste great.“

“The food was perfect and the service was excellent! We don’t live close by. We were just visiting the San Gabriel Mission. However, whenever we go back to the area, we will definitely come back!“

“It has been over 10 years since my original review and with changes in palate, experiences, and my relationship with food over the last decade, I wanted to come back to share that my thoughts about this restaurant have never changed. Dong Nguyen remains home to comfort Chinese/Vietnamese style cuisine. I still get the hainan chicken + pork chop rice combo. Staff still greet me with excitement and warmth. Minor noticeable differences: - The pork chop is no longer bone-in. I've notice in my last several visits that they've started to serve it deboned and cut up. Some inconsistencies in flavor and texture, but nothing significant. - Because of the pandemic, they had to close down the restaurant for some time. This led to a restructure that affected staff and the way the business operated. Once reopened, service was take-out only for a long time. When the business finally introduced dine-in service back to the public, most of the staff did not return. This definitely changed the ambience of the dining experience as the once hustle and bustle of customers/staff and steady sounds of the door chime are now far and few between. While it makes me a bit sad, I'd like to think all the changes in the last few years have shifted customers to adapt to phone orders and takeout and that the business is still flourishing. Please continue to support small businesses like this one. I would be heartbroken if this establishment were to ever close its doors in my lifetime. One other thing that surprisingly has not changed -- CASH ONLY! I'd also like to note that Dong Nguyen and Savoy have very different takes on their hainan chicken dishes and I've grown to like and appreciate them both. So if you are coming here expecting to have what is served at Savoy, don't. Each establishment has its own unique flair. Please disregard my original review, this is my public apology.“

“My friend brought me a sandwich from here for lunch today and it was UNBELIEVABLY good!!! WOW <3 =)“
“Very hard to find Banh Cuon anywhere but SGV and Westminster. I drove here from Northridge. This place was awesome. They finally allow inside dining. The nuoc mam was very good. It didn't taste fishy. There's a citrus element in the ingredients that makes it sweet and savory. The portion was large so I barely finished it.“

“First off, let me tell you, the prices are so reasonable and I hope they keep it that way. You go in, order first, then they bring the food to your table. The workers are nice and the store is kept clean. The food was so good! I got the Bun Bo Hue and it tastes delicious. Authentic taste and it was only $9 for a bowl. They have banh mi for $6 each and its buy 2 get 1 free! Boba is buy 1 get 1 free. They take card with minimum purchase of 10 dollars or more. My kids loved their egg rolls. Spring rolls are okay the wrap was too soggy for me and the dipping sauce was super watery. Don't forget to grab a fresh baguette before you leave! Their bread is baked in house and so soft and delicious. So glad I found this place. Not to mention, they have daily specials Monday-Friday.“
