“I love Fox's. The food is so amazing. The service an excellent. The waitress recommended a great dish. I also loved the ambiance. It definitely has a warm feel to it. The sauces are homemade. “Found this place on Google after a poetry event nearby. My rule of thumb for new pizza places is always get the margherita because it's a simple pizza. I liked it except the sauce had no flavor and there were sliced tomatoes on top. Being from Napoli, i expected I would get something close to what I typically from a Napolitean pizzeria. No judgement here since Venice is one of the few cities I haven't visited yet and maybe that's the way they make their margherita? A family member got the Funghi (mushroom) pizza and out of either of those I really liked the Funghi pizza. But the star of this meal was the Brussels sprouts with the Korean sauce. It was so good I ordered some to go. I will definitely be coming back and trying the other pizzas and of course double/triple order of the Brussel sprouts.Parking: Not that many spots but we found parking easy enough on a Saturday at 6:30.“

Came by here during a visit to LA and it was recommended by some friends who live in the neighborhood and I was not disappointed at all. “I just hurt myself trying to finish the GF Detroit style... damn good pizza. I'm a "sauce man" and I would put there red sauce over pasta and bon appetit it; no questions asked. Great mozzarella (with that authentic salty milkiness) and quality toppings. If you're gluten free like me, this is the best pizza in LA hands down. Prior to my GF life, pizza was my favorite food group and I've eaten it all over. You can always tell a good pie by the components. There is a quality and style that goes into the pizza here. Canned sauce is disgusting and evident during the first bite at other shops. Once again, the sauce is great here. Park near Astro and walk over as that lot is not fun to try and get into or out of. “Ghost Sando Shop Came to grab a bite with my boyfriend, walked around the grand central market and seen this sandwich shop. The menu instantly grabbed our attention and I'm glad it did! I got the melrose sandwich my boyfriend got the howdy sandwich and instantly fell in love! They are both great tasting & the service was quick! We got the L size which costed about $40 for two sandwiches and two drinks. Overall a great experience and I will be coming again for that howdy sandwich!“

“I've been following the Chef Lemos' progress with development of this restaurant and after the success of Wax Paper I was really excited to try it. My wife and I stopped in for brunch on Sunday. Outdoor patio has a good deal of seating in the front and a lot in the back, but the front has a view of the river, which you can also hear occasionally when an obnoxious and pretentious woman isn't drowning everything else out (that's not a knock on the restaurant, just the hipster attitude of some people). The food and drink options are solid. I got the breakfast burrito which was excellent and my wife had the eggs 'n' curds which she enjoyed. The star of the meal was her brunch cocktail, the Superbloom which came at the suggestion of our server. My wife mentioned she could have enjoyed a pitcher of it, especially in the outstanding weather we had. Caution to driving in, however, the construction of several apartment buildings is a little potentially rough on your tires so be mindful. I look forward to returning for dinner in the future. “Im super picky when it comes to Mexican food and let me tell you this place really does not disappoint. We waited a while for the food but you have to keep in mind that good food takes time and energy to make. I ordered the chilaquiles con mole and a side of papas, the chilaquiles were so delicious. The mole tastes amazing it’s not too sweet and has no bitter notes. Super filling. The papas are amazing they’re so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Will def be coming back, I personally really appreciate the ambiance in there it reminds me of eating in a home or in my dads down in MX. The people here really value and love food.“

“My wife, Sara, and I dined at The Proper last night. It was our first time there. I had very recently become aware of it on Yelp. We were treated very well by our server, Connor, and by another man, whose name we do not know. He probably was an assistant manager. We asked him about the history and the décor of the restaurant. He offered to have the owner stop by our table to answer questions he was more in a position to address. The owner, Rick, did come by and we had nice chat. Rick and his staff are terrific folks. And we really enjoyed the food. Sara had the chicken piccata and I had the jambalaya pasta. We enjoyed a bottle of Sonoma Cutrer chardonnay and the warm butter toffee cake for dessert. It was an all-around terrific evening. Sara wants to try the miso salmon next time and I will probably order the blackened shrimp tacos. Another thing that’s a plus is that we don’t eat red meat or pork - we’re fish and fowl only – and there are many items on The Proper’s menu that we can eat. And we may elect to dine in the bar on our next visit, which is really cool and charming.“
