Fantastic! Birthday celebration- everyone enjoyed their food and the staff were wonderful! They also allowed me to set up some things in advance (like the bill so that there was no fighting over it) Will definitely return!

Ribs so good they need no sauce. Steaks so tender you can slice them with a fork (now that one's hyperbole... if that were true why give you a steak knife) actually the flavor their magic stuff gives the aged beef is awesome. Classic anti pasto tray to start. Rice pilaf is excellent. Tracy, the dessert chef makes many wonderful treats, but her peanut butter pie is so good, we were over the top four nights in a row (Grand Slam Tracy.) Food is so good we drive down from Redding, CA just to eat here

Absolutely one of our favorites in Fulton, the Oak, grilled artichoke and ribeye steak art to die for my husband and I always split this meal. It's plenty and delicious every time our waiter was sweet and attentive. Great service.

I've been a return customer here for many years and I've been disappointed ever since Covid ended. The prices have risen dramatically, compared to their competitors, while their portions have decreased dramatically. I recently brought some of my best friends to share my love of the restaurant and I felt embarrassed by the portion size and presentation. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I will not return to the Hitching Post. I believe if you are looking for a Santa Maria style bbq, there are a few great options that you should be looking at instead.

Had a lovely dinner. Server was great, but def. lost him for a good 15 min at the end of the meal when our daughter was restless. Also, interesting to have 2 tables in our room singing together, but wine will do that.

We've eaten at Hitching Post several times over the past few years and each time my experience has been the same: the steaks are tough, gristly and not particularly flavorful, and the other food is very pedestrian. I had been hoping that past experience was an anomaly, since my wife's experience has been better than mine, but am now convinced that this place just does not live up to its reputation and is simply a tourist attraction. On our last visit, the place was crowded and noisy, and our waiter seemed to be more interested in moving us along and out quickly than in making for a relaxing experience. I felt rushed by his multiple visits to check on our progress. I was also put off by what I felt were extraordinarily high prices. I know that beef is very expensive these days, and wouldn't mind paying $57 for a 10 oz NY Strip if it was really good, but this one was not.

Excellent, attentive server, Jennifer. Food delivery was accurate, rapid. Food was exceptional, cooked to perfection! Chef a grill master! Have been unable to receive a proper and accurately cooked steak for 6+ months. Bussers/support staff equally as exceptional.

Always love our meal here. Our favorite place to eat when we visit Solvang. Steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly to our liking. We love the grilled artichoke appetizer! A must stop for a great meal.

We came because of Sideways, not expecting much, but we were so impressed. Those steaks were phenomenal and we compared ours, and they were both so different and nuanced. A fantastic spot and I love the ambiance!

Fourth time here, we had reservations for Saturday night which meant that we were seated on time, great . Had a table between two others, our waiter Aaron had the two on the left, and Gina on the right. The crudités plate was presented by Gina at introduction when she asked about cocktails, ours after the salad. No mention of the specials. We ordered the bake potatoes with our meals and both tables had the fixings brought out before the meal, ours 10 minutes after. We always say please and thank you to our servers, and at $300 for 2, I expected more. The food and wine fantastic as always.

We've enjoyed Hitching Post II many times in the past - always great food etc., but found last night, a busy Sat. night, to be particularly SPECTACULAR because of the teamwork of the servers - not just one, but five with everything flowing so smoothly.

We had a family gathering at Solvang for the Spring break week. This was the best restaurant for dinner during our stay. We tried the grilled artichokes - really good; steamed mussels - pretty good. Yet the soup (clam chowder) was the best. Different people ordered different main dishes and we were all happy. But the best part of our dining experience was the service. The wait staff was great, including the bussers. They were very attentive and pleasant. In fact before we even met the wait staff we were impressed with service of the reception staff at the restaurant. There were 6 adults and 5 kids and we were expected to sit at 2 tables. But the front staff made an effort to seat us together and we really appreciated that. Thanks to the great service and good food, the 3 families had a remarkable time. We would for sure return in the future.

Awesome!! This restaurant is known for its excellent menu selections and great food. The prices are reasonable, generous servings, and no (ridiculous) ala carte charges. The wait staff is professional and knowledgeable and they are fun, too. HP is our favorite restaurant in the SY Valley and always our “go to.”

Group of four for dinner and drinks. Gina handled our table very well. Was efficient and considerate of our time. Food was very good and cooked perfectly. Steaks all around and massive doses of garlic bread. We couldn't have been happier.
