“Vibe is great; wouldn't consider it anything super fancy, but a nice place for a normal date night. Food was SUPER good! Portions were bigger than expected and everything was bursting with flavor. Service is very accomodating to allergies. Will say, service could have been better, but I'm a tough judge to crack, so I won't put it past them. Highly recommend!“

“We appreciated the concept of using the dim sum style roving carts. The service was very efficient, helpful and personable. The ambiance and vibe was very lively and fun, but the noise level was high so, for some elders, it made conversation difficult. The variety of dishes were creative and fun to try. Since this was our first time at the restaurant, our picks from the roving carts were sort of pot luck so some dishes we loved and others, not so much. I think it would take another visit or two to figure out what to say "yes" to and what to say "no thank you" to, for our tastes.“

“I had a great time during my last visit to The Progress while my parents were in town visiting. We tried: dumplings, artichoke toast, seaweed noodles, lamb and the classic duck. The dumplings were our least favorite - it was a bit heavy and not as flavorful at the same time. I'm generally just okay on artichoke, but I surprisingly really enjoyed the artichoke toast. The lamb was tender and flavorful. I also loved the umami flavors in the seaweed noodles and thought the springy texture of the noodles were just right! Our duck was great as well, which is their signature dish - highly recommended! For drinks we tried the one punch man and spiritual state. We like both drinks! I am a sucker for trying milk washed cocktails and am also a sucker for pandan, so I loved my one punch man drink - the pandan was strong as well! We accidentally spilled the whole one punch man when we were first trying out the drink and our server was so kind to replace our drink. Lastly, because we were celebrating an occasion, we were each given a shot of complimentary peanut milk! It was a bit sweet though - not something I would order on my own. Anyway, a great experience overall!“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.“

“As a vegetarian, I was disappointed by the food. The tangine was odd in flavour, while the vegetarian pasta was super bland, with lots of sweet peas and very little pasta and sauce. The artichokes and cauliflower were also surprisingly bland. I was looking forward to trying this institution and left nonplussed.“

“The salmon was unreal. Got it on my avacado toast. Will for SURE be going back just for the salmon. Everyone absolutely loved their food. My boyfriend said it was the best BLT he ever had. The owner was super friendly and helpful! I think the tumeric latte was too adventurous for me but otherwise the regular cappuccino was good“

“Was seated surprisingly super quickly on a sunny Saturday lunch on the sidewalk. Took about 15 minutes for a party of 4. The menu is small, but everything that we ordered was big portioned and fantastic. From the grilled cheese to the mushroom toast to the scone (with cream!) to the veggie grain bowl, everything was hearty, flavorful, and delicious.“

“Absolute perfection. My husband and I will remember this evening for the rest of our lives. The food was divine. Flavors, inspired. Service, attentive, delightful, and not intrusive. Each dish was presented with a brief but detailed description so that we could appreciate the food even more. You’ll want this to be your next dining experience. They take it all to the next level of sublime.“

“While overall it was a great meal, we did think the desserts we had, panna cotta and the crostata, could have been better. Everything else was great, particularly the Chicken Arrosta, the tagliatelle, supli, and salumi. Look forward to our next visit.“

“My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at O' last night, and it was an unforgettable experience. Before our dinner, the management reached out to confirm any dietary restrictions or food allergies for the Spring Grand Tasting menu. After several emails, it was decided that the Chef would create replacement dishes for those I couldn't eat. Amazing, right? Everything was delicious, with several standout dishes. The asparagus gazpacho and the caviar composition were our top favorites, and the Kinmedai was superb. As a main protein dish, I had grilled cod that was incredibly tender and flaky, while my spouse enjoyed the flavorful Gallus Brun. The desserts exceeded our expectations, and the Mignardises cart, showcasing chocolates and a variety of one-bite sweets, was a delightful surprise. Many of these treats made their way home with us. The staff was courteous and friendly. Our waitpersons, Zach and Katrina, were exemplary. They explained each dish's components and flavors, ensuring everything was to our liking. I look forward to returning in the near future for another extraordinary dining experience. Thank you to all the staff and the Chef, who was on fire!“

“Millbrae's best kept secret-is MQs Restaurant! A mix of NEW American Cuisine with a flair for healthy affordable ingredients. Our go to place when headed to San Francisco International Airport or Bart station . A fusion of flavors that is uncommon and hard to find at this price point in Burningame, Millbrae or San Bruno. “The Rustic is in the former Chows Restaurant space on Church Street near Market St. We went there for brunch with friends and the food and service were outstanding, including the appetizers and desserts ( try their Mediterranean version of ice cream---a real treat). Their fried chicken was excellent, as good as the Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten ( and that it saying alot). As Arnie says, We will be back!“

“Charlie was our server. He was very pleasant and attentive to us. His recommendation for the entrees were great! We ordered one gluten free tea menu, crab & shrimp louie salad and the Petrale Sole lunch. The salad and Sole were very good but the gluten free tea was not as elaborate as the traditional tea menu. For the same price as a traditional tea I would NOT get the gluten free and order the regular tea or eat something else.“

“Went for Spring restaurant week. Got the steak and salmon option. Started off with their salad - yummy. Next is the pea soup - also yummy. Not as grainy as some pea soups can be. Steak made well with the aoili dipping sauce. Salmon also nicely made. Kids meal has a salt & pepper option. Dessert was a lemon pound cake which was a bit disappointing. Was dense and a bit too tart for me. Rustic setting. Definitely prefer the back near the fire place.Parking: There is a parking lot on 8th - if it is city operated, it is free after 6pm-otherwise metered. Street parking is free after 6PM and Sundays.Kid-friendliness: Has a kids menu option-more then chicken tenders and burgers which was nice. Salmon was an option with fries and seasonal veggies (currently peas).“

“We got here because the other restaurant needs us to wait 2 hrs… it is a surprise that this place isn’t full on a Sunday. The server is extremely friendly and kept checking in on us! The environment is nice and homey. You can see the chef cooking! We got the smoothie (it was so great!) and the burrata cheese sandwich was amazing. The egg Benedict is special and their salad is awesome!!!!! This is a secret gem in the neighborhood!“

“The food tastes amazing and the delivery driver was punctual although having said that, wax paper would keep the cheese from ripping up patches of cardboard after it slightly cools in transit and the butter for the pancakes was off to the corner mostly absorbed into the container and started to revert back to a solid.it would have been more efficient to package it in a sauce cup.the whole bottom layer of eggs ended up being inedible and the 7.50 delivery charge made the drivers tip uneconomical on a $20 dollar order.“

“Food: 5 This is THE BRUNCH to try in SF. Consistent perfection in every part of the dish - crispy potatoes, flavorful & soft eggs and meat, and fresh pastries/pancakes. If you ever get to sit at the bar, you can watch your meal being prepared in front of you. Service & Ambiance: 4 Understandably, wait times can be a little wild, and be prepared for the cold if you're seated outside (blankets provided). But even on crowded days, the staff are so kind! Wishing there was a queue system to receive a call-back rather than waiting in crowds outside the restaurant waiting to hear your name.“
