“My friend recommended this place to me. The place is fairly simple and clean. You order at the counter. There are a few tables for you to dine in, but I find most people order to take out.I like the Simurgh kebab sandwich. The kebabs were delicious but what stood out for me was the Turkish bread. It's not like anything I've had before. It is grilled, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is probably my favorite sandwich bread now. They make them all from scratch.I've only been there twice, but it's a place I would return again.“

“Love this place so much. My favorite cafe. They have so many yummy options so they're great for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Every drink I've tried has been delicious. And the employees are so nice, they usually remember my favorite orders and are always upbeat.Plus, if I don't hear them call my drink, or they can tell I'm working, they'll bring it to my table. Usually you have to go get the drink from the counter so I appreciate them taking the extra time when I'm distracted.Lots of outlets and different seating. Great for working or bringing friends. “don't knock nothing Bundt cake! I used to because it's everywhere, but it's because they deserve to be that big. They craft solid cakes and mini Bundt cakes for any occasion. Brainless option for parties, gifts, get together dinners. The cakes are consistently moist and the signature flavors are all great picks, I love the red velvet and lemon. Plus, they offer cute decorated cakes for themed occasions. They did one for niece's 5th bday and my boyfriend's Easter dinner.“

“The people are awesome, the food is awesome, the menu is huge. The only thing I hate about Ike’s is how few locations they have. They need to be everywhere, on every corner, like Subway.Vegetarian options: I’m not a vegetarian, but they have plenty of options for vegetarians.“

“Recently in the area and in the mood for a good steak burrito with black beans. Unfortunately, they only do burrito bowls (gluten free guidelines). Was able to get a steak quesadilla tho. Good quality steak, fresh quac and pico de gallo. But it had grilled fresh corn off the cob on it--interesting. Good taste, good service, but way too expensive--$21 + $1.30 packaging fee. Lots at courtyard like seating. Next to a full service bar. Big screen tvs. Busy seating area tho.“

Coffees with its top almond milk variant, it's a change from the usual American coffees. Delicious coconut pastry. “Acai” bowl very good but I would have appreciated it being noted that it was a “smoothie sorbet”, not translated into English. Not ideal for the morning. The fruit salads served to the neighbor were tempting.Brazilian cuisine to try. Refined and tastefully decorated.“

Having spent the first half of our life in Montréal, Québec, Canada where it was hard to find a bad restaurant, we were absolutely amazed by this Bistro which looks more like a high end dining experience. The menu online & the photos attracted us to this location but we were amazed by the well timed service, the crisp white tablecloths, the table setting and the pleasant and calm atmosphere. My choices of charcuterie platter was perfectly sized; the chicken & the pork rillettes where a wonderful surprise. My husband had an onion tart with the crust as perfect as they get & which I envied. He loved his halibut, moist and tender and I raved over my grilled half lobster, so tender that I found myself munching on the shell parts as well. My bread pudding was not of overwhelming size & perfectly flavored. Don chose the Affogato (scoop of vanilla gelato « drowned » with a shot of hot espresso). We wanted to go back today but they are closed on Sundays.?“

“Quite literally the best Mediterranean food in the Bay Area!! If you're lucky enough to enjoy some Fava, you're quite lucky indeed. The falafel is crispy and all the ingredients are sourced carefully and the resulting quality is phenomenal!Jeremy and his wife are amazing and the kindest business owners I have come across in Berkeley - they really put the love into the food they serve.My go to's are the Falafel Flatbread Sandwich, Escarole Salad With Blood Oranges, and the Mango Lassi to wash it down. “Went here to try the SF restaurant week menu. It has a very nice atmosphere and the food is presented well. I felt that the experience missed the mark a bit though considering the prices. The menu is authentic Mexican but the flavours were lacking. For example, in the hibiscus margarita, the hibiscus was soo diluted compared to one you would get at a nice restaurant in Mexico. And it was similar for the food… the flavours were lacking. The duck on the menu was nice but too salty, while the dessert was too sweet. Our specific server seemed inexperienced but other staff were very attentive. In summary, I was hoping for the flavours to better match what I get in Mexico.“

“I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Krispy Kreme who? These donuts are beyond words of delicious and delightful. I drive from the East Bay usually late night when my husband and I are craving phenomenal donuts. The donuts are extremely fresh, the times I've been here there has been an older gentleman making them and racks of donuts ready to be bought. Yummmmmmm. Just incredible tasty donuts. You can tell the oil they get made in is also very fresh, no after taste of old oil. Donuts are not super greasy. The service is magnificent! The first time coming here the woman was extremely helpful and kind. The second time a young man helped us and he had a great personality and energy. He was telling us some of the stories of the donut place. Really enjoyed his service! The ambiance is an old school donut shop with closed off seating area but looks very vintage. Grab and go type of donut shop right on Polk St. RECOMMEND THIS PLACE 100% :)“

“Honestly, I always enjoy my experience at Pakwan. My go to is their cheese naan, which in my opinion is the best naan in SF, possibly the bay. I usually accompany it with either an aloo mutter, bengan bartha, or a chicken tikka masala. Something that goes good with naan and is scoop-able. The workers are super nice and show a lot of hospitality. I really like the ambiance and how the dine in experience is as well with the music they play and how It has a family style vibe that makes it really inviting. Overall, one of 16th streets best eats. “Just the best taco place in the area. Creative, unique, and incredibly flavored tacos. The charred broccoli taco and all their seasonal vegetarian tacos are always incredible. I’d strongly recommend this place to people like myself who love a traditional Al pastor/carne asada taco, they have fantastic meat options and you will be very impressed the veggie options - and you absolutely must come if you are vegetarian/vegan. My only complaint is that they aren’t open enough for how much I crave their food.“

“Scrumptious chocolate chip cookies! I have yet to try their pies and various baked goods, but I can tell you that these cookies are so wonderful! The sea salt sprinkles were a nice touch because it creates a very balanced flavor. I'm in love with the gooeyness and texture of the cookie. The way the chocolate chips are encompassing the entire cookie is the best. I need more!“

The pizza is divine and it's so fun to see what new slice comes out each day. Arizmendi is also a co-op so I'm happy to support them with my service as much as possible!“

“I have lived in SF for 3 years now and just discovered the Dancing Yak. It blew me away with how delicious the food was. From the drinks, to the appetizer, to the main dishes and desserts, everything I had was phenomenal. “Small wine bar in the heart of Russian Hill. Perfect spot for 2-3 people, since most of the seating is bar seating or communal tables. All the servers are knowledgeable about the wine selection and always have great recommendations. I love their orange wines and all the food is amazing. They make beautiful cheese plates and pair the cheeses perfectly with jams and honey. If you can't decide what cheeses to order, tell them what you like/dislike and they will curate the perfect board for you!“

“The polenta and blueberry muffins are out of this world. That being said, one day they made polenta and raspberry muffins. I don't know if it was a fluke or not, but I actually like those better. Either way, you have to try them!! Every Friday my coworkers and I treat ourselves. The best ever!!“

“I still give this place five stars for their gluten free baked goods and take home lasagna but overall four stars because their service still sucks most of the time. I went by here recently on a Sunday morning before a meeting to grab something hot to eat. I love their hot pockets. However, it was 9:30 am. A number of people around me and I started to form a line. Some people asked the staff questions about the pastries and they answered while putting stuff out. None of the staff thought to tell us that they didn't open until 10 am on Sundays. After about 5 minutes of being ignored, I saw the small sign for their hours. I pointed it out to others and we all left. That was a horrible experience as I was hungry and now didn't have time to get something else before my meeting. On Pi Day, I came by and was pleased they had a number of pies available in different sizes. I picked up a small Chocolate Pie that was low in sugar and a small Cherry Pie. They were the perfect size for the three of us though they could have fed more people. We didn't finish the pies ourselves. The Chocolate Pie was yummy and perfect for me but my husband said it wasn't sweet enough for him. We all loved the Cherry Pie! We went back recently and picked up their pizza dough. It came with two rounds. They were awesome!!! We put on our own toppings and popped them into the oven. They came out delicious. I love their food. I just wish the service was better.“

“Came on a Saturday evening, and there was a long line down the block. They only serve 1 type of pizza and 1 type of salad, and you decide how much you want of each. For the pizza, you can order per slice, half pie, or whole pie. You order at the front and then choose a seat if you're dining in. Since there's only one choice for everything, it all comes out right away when you order and pay. If you want anything specialized - gluten-free, vegan, etc then they tell you to go to counter to order first, then get in line to pay. Would recommend getting the green sauce as well for an extra delicious kick. They also have outdoor dog friendly dining. Delicious pizza, highly recommend.“

“Ordered a sheet cake for a book release party. There were two layers of beautiful, delicate vanilla cake with generous custard and delicious raspberry filling. The image of the book cover was sharp and set off with flawless piping. The online order ahead system works well. Such a fabulous cake for a special evening!“

“GC gets docked a star for two reasons: 1) limited access because the line is so long (reservations are only taken for parties of 6+) and 2) the kung pao chicken is disappointing. As an institution, GC has been the best Chinese food in the area for decades. It was once so small you could shoot an arrow from the front door to the back wall. Its corner spot now on Oxford & Bancroft is massive in comparison, so now more people can wait to get in. The space is modern and bright, but the food is thankfully not fusion or fanciful. The food is exactly what it says on the door: Great China. From the plump (but crisped-skin) potstickers to the mu shu pork to the spicy green beans to the Peking duck, it is deliciously predictable. When I order ma po tofu, I know I'm going to get silken cubes of tofu in a thickened shiny spicy red sauce with ground pork in perfect proportion. Service is as friendly as Chinese gets and effortlessly efficient and fast. Parking sucks; it's downtown Berkeley, people. But if my San Fran friends long to come here, you know it's worth the hassle.“

“Hidden Cafe can try to hide, but I find it every time. I'm glad their employees don't hide, even though I do love playing hide & seek. I don't think I would enjoy it as much if the only way I could get my coffee from here is by finding the hidden employees at hidden cafe. Trying to find a barista to order coffee, before I've had coffee, sounds daunting. Although, it would make that cup of joe so much more rewarding. Honestly, if the employees did start hiding, I'd still go here. That's how good their coffee and carrot cake is and how confident I am in my seeking abilities. Luckily, this is something I haven't had to face. All the employees here are extremely friendly and very easy to find. I'm happy that Hidden Cafe is not good enough at hiding to the point where it would run itself out of business. I love going here!“

“Without a doubt the best breakfast sandwiches on thee planet! I have referred a friend who said “it’s in a league of its own.” I will start with the buttery yet still flakey buttermilk biscuit. When you take a bite it’s just goes perfectly with the bacon and egg. It’s like a party in your mouth! They also have amazing blueberry & Apple cinnamon muffins that are unbelievably moist! The banana nut bread is just as fabulous. I can’t wait to go back and trie a scone. The best part is they also made fresh home made dog treats! There's another famous one in Nashville. Done them all and this place is fire.The creativity of the combinations, paired with a moist cake and just sweet-enough, whipped to perfection icing, makes this a must stop. “This mac and cheese is perfect- PERFECT. When I'm not in the area, I cry. I got the cookbook for Christmas a couple of years ago and that can tide me over but of course, I'd rather it come from the OG. My absolute favorites are the pesto mac or pizza mac - both of which will rotate on and off the menu. A crunchy top is a necessity. I prefer the breadcrumbs but they have other options like hot Cheetos or chips too. Thank you for existing, Homeroom. ILY.“
