“I came here for dinner with a craving for Filipino food and I was not disappointed. Max's fried chicken is just wonderful if you like well-seasoned fried chicken with skin that is crispy, but not heavily battered then you are in luck. The lechon sisig was very tasty and with some lemon on top and with some garlic rice, it is a flavor bomb in your mouth. The mango or calamansi juice is a great drink to wash down all of the heavier dishes too. The pinakbet definitely used some shrimp paste to give it a richer flavor. They do put bitter melon in the pinakbet so be aware of that. Service was friendly, no rush and I was seated quickly. The food also came out pretty quickly and was appropriately hot. If I'm in the area or a Max's is nearby I would come back.“

“Late Review, we dined here (party of 6) around Christmas Time 2022 to celebrate hubby's birthday and also meeting my newly wed cousin Joanne and hubby for the first time. I am very well pleased with the ambiance, like dining at my home's formal dining room. We ordered practically everything in their extensive menu. The food was served promptly and everything delicious !! Everyone enjoyed the feast. I would like to thank the owner especially for giving us a 5 Star personalized service, making it a memorable dining experience. Regrettably cousin Joanne recently passed at a younger age of 48. “Great family size food and amazing service. We ordered the garlic rice, grilled pork belly and pancit canton. They were delicious to the point that you don't need any condiments - no lemon, no soy sauce needed. I would definitely come back, but I would do take-away next time. “As a Filipino, I love the different concepts they have with different Filipino dishes. We started off with the beef tartar and pork belly sisig. All I could say was w o w. Beef tartar was amazing and I've never had a garlic sky flake before. The flavors complimented perfectly. I'm not usually a pork person, but their sisig was cooked to perfection! So much flavor and had the perfect crisp. For our main dish we had the chicken inasal. The chicken was sooo tender and fell right off the bone! We also ordered each one of their sauces and I can't even pick out my favorite. They all had their own unique flavor. I'm already thinking about my next visit at this restaurant. The ambience, the service, and the food are all 10/10. Highly recommend!!“

“I dont want to be too critical - but to me this place was just ok.. i mean props on elevating , and putting a twist to Fil dishes. - but it was underwhelming, atleast for me. Ive had many filipino fusion, twist or watever u wanna call it. Iv had Kasama in Chicago, the first Filipino Michelin Star -- and maybe that was my standard... still good though , I wings sadly was my favorite.. kare kare was cool.. but more sauce and more bagoong wouldve been cool - but then again I think they played it safe - to cater to non Fils... now the Pancit Palabok - I dd not get the pasta filling -- it was shrimp supposedly - tasted more like a fish ball, meat ball texture.. it threw me of cus Palabok is mostly just noodles w sauce - and some shrimp if youre lucky , and chicharon.. it had a lil of palabok to it but again I didnt get the pasta filling -- Its a pop up vibe, it was dark like really dark, and was only 2 tables dining, it was also so the menu was super limited.. maybe il come for dinner next time.. but I saw the dinner prices , and its a lil too much , as people have said on yelp, so not sure if Il even go unless it comes about... give em a try , maybe Im just too bias cus of Kasama and also a yelper said, a non Filipino would enjoy it more -- server also gave us the wrong bill, not a big deal but considering there was only 2 tables there , it kinda messed up the vibe more lol .. but still 4 stars for support n the food wasnt bad so dont be discouraged.. check em out.“

“Fusion Filipino restaurant with natural wine and Filipino beer selection. After trying many under-delivered fusion Filipino restaurants, Spoon and Pork easily takes the crowd to have the best executed fusion style dishes. We had the sinigang, grilled chicken, adobo chicken wings, pork belly, and garlic rice, and none of them disappointed.Sinigang's soup was rich and flavorful while the topping in the soup was cooked separately so they are not over cooked. The ribs came with a real nicely grilled flavored. The pork belly had crispy skin as expected and the fat to meat ratio was really good. The adobo chicken wings sauce was thick and sticky and not too salty nor sour, we kept the sauce for dipping Even after the wings were devoured.We are glad we took another chance in another fusion Filipino restaurant and we'll keep S&P on our rotation.“

“Came here for lunch with some coworkers. We were very impressed with the quality and price of the food. $14 for two entrees and noodles, and there was plenty left over to take home. The best thing about this place was the service, though. The woman who helped us was the daughter of the owner. “Finally got to try out this incredibly fun, low budget spot in the core of mid-city in Historic Filipinotown. I've recently made a group of Filipinos who suggested with check it out on a Friday night. The place is popping -- and feels like one of those late night spots you'd go after a few drinks out on the town. There is a parking lot out front, but spaces are a premium. My friends lucked out and got a spot, while I ended up parking nearby in the neighborhood. This is a true street food experience. Don't expect trendy night out! It's open seating with plastic tables and stools spilling out into the parking lot with open flame grills for you to cook your food over. The first step is to go inside, and grab a plate to select your skewers. If you're getting raw meat, my friend had the GREAT recommendation of grabbing 2 plates so you don't mix your raw meat juices on the food you just grilled. The energy here is so much fun. I definitely stood out, as the friendly worker behind the counter gave me a shout out over a microphone system that pumped music through the restaurant and parking lot, yelling out "We have Phil from West Hollywood in the house!" Always loving be the center of attention, I ate it up! If you like rice with your meat, you'll need to request that as you pay, along with any sauces. We had a big group so some of us split while we got the food and others saved our table out front since this place can get very busy. All skewers and food (except for the desserts) need to be grilled on the open flames. I had no idea when mine should be done. But I think I guessed correct as I didn't bite into any raw meat or feel sick. It's one of those authentic experiences I've come to find in LA when it comes to regional international foods. “In the heart of Historic Filipinotown lies this gem of a restaurant, most of the things in the menu are mostly savory meaty dishes from pork , beef, chicken and shrimp. Truly a vegan's nightmare, I suggest having a maja blanca for non meat eaters (good luck with the dairy though), most dishes are served with rice with Java rice as an option together with sweet sour papaya salad (atchara) and condiments accompanying the dishes making it an enjoyable meal. Staff are helpful with the menu and will explain how the dishes are served , there is no fountain drinks so asking for an extra cup of water or ice might be needed for the hearty meal. Unfortunately, limited parking on the side of restaurant and front street parking is the one of the flaw of the place, a wide window view of Temple Blvd in front of the hospital, most of the ones eat here are really rare because of the parking factor hence most of the people only do pickup orders. But if you get past the parking problem, you can enjoy the atmosphere of quietness or random original Pilipinas music playing in the background.“

“Was so excited to discover their brunch menu! I have a gluten allergy and called to find out if they had options. They had sooo many gluten-free options! Many items were GF that were unexpected. Like the friend shrimp (cornstarch)!! My friend and I ordered so much food as it was such a treat to have things that aren’t always GF. Everything was delicious and so were the cocktails. “12.02.23 We were in the area and I googled Filipino food and this one was top three on options to consider. Service was the best - kind, caring, and really nice front counter reps. Plenty of combo options to choose from and pics on the side walls are pretty good help. Not exactly sure how to rate Atmosphere because the restaurant is inside 99 Ranch market. It's pretty clean eating area which is across the order area and past the spacious entrance.“

“Okay this is going to be a kind of chaotic review but here are my take-aways:We ordered around 6:45 on a Friday and our order was ready earlier than estimated.The pick up window is so cute and I loved the little patio. We live close by so we just took the sushi home to eat.The boxes were HEAVY. The price point is crazy for how much food you get!!I thought the chilote roll was a bit bland for being topped with crumbled hot Cheetos, but I love that it it was rolled in some kind of seaweed dust. Probably would skip this one next time, but I had to try it.I cannot emphasize enough how BIG the rolls are. Even the hand roll. I’m used to a hand roll being 2-3 bites, but this one was easily 5-6. With the special rolls I could barely fit one piece in my mouth ? It is not sexy sushi. I had to eat a lot of pieces with my hands because my chopstick skills could just not keep up.I would 10/10 order again!!“

“This place smells like your Lola's kitchen. It has that distinct smell of a hot, metal rice cooker wafting throughout and the sharp tang of vinegar on the edges. I grew up on adobo, so I can be picky about restaurant adobo, but Kusina Filipina gave me full nostalgia when their chicken adobo hit the table. The chicken was juicy, and the sauce had the right balance of shoyu to vinegar. The lumpia were tightly wrapped and super crispy. I had to make a conscious effort to stop eating them. And the sisig had quality pork - bonus, it reheated perfectly the next day. We actually came here to see the local comedy show they host weekly. I love that they try to support community activities and the show was decent, but the reason to come back is the incredible and authentic Filipino food. The service is fine. It's like Island Time Kine service - you know, you get the check when Uncle feels like bringing it, you get water when you ask Auntie nicely - I think if you come expecting the sort of service you get at a gentrified-type restaurant, you're going to be unhappy. Long story, short: If you come for the excellent food and you're patient, you'll have a nice time. If you don't have time or patience, order takeout, be just as happy.“

“Small little bake shop with delicious breads and pastries. There's no seating and the space is quite small but that's no bother. Note it's CASH ONLY. Service was okay.
