Great beef noodle soup. The broth is very flavorful and the noodles cooked just right. Beef chunks are generous. The stinky tofu is good but could be stinkier :)

Good green onion pancakes. XLB is not very juicy with thick wrappers. Beef noodle got good flavors. Stinky tofu was fair n not worth getting it. Canaan special pork chops was decent n worth getting it if u like pork chops. But I would get the salt n pepper pork chops instead. Portion is smaller than I am used to at others for dinner.

Love this place. Got the beef noodle soup, veggie fried rice, braised pork with rice, stinky tofu, string beans with garlic, and wonton noodle soup. All hit the spot. They were so good that we got some to go orders for dinner. Not sure if this is the same owner as the one in Cerritos but it's definitely tasty and closer so we will be coming here at least twice a month. Will be part of our usual rotation. Staff was very nice and place is very clean. Keep the amazing food coming!!

First try and ordered for delivery via DD. All items were packaged well and received fresh and hot. French Style Beef Filet Mignon entree: Very tender cuts of filet mignon full of savory, peppery flavor. Delicious! (Does not come with side of rice) 9/10 Assorted Chow Mein: Chicken, beef, and shrimp chow mein cooked perfectly. The noodles weren't dry or mushy and not overly oily as many chow mein dishes can be. Very tasty! 9/10 Assorted Fried Rice: Chicken, beef and shrimp rice was a bit bland and pale in color. No wok or pan fried flavor really, but still decent. We added soy and chili sauces to level it up. The peas & carrots were also too "crunchy" for our liking. 7/10 Popcorn Chicken: Good basic Asian popcorn chicken batter & seasoning with the fried basil leaves. 7/10 Overall, very good dishes and we're looking forward to trying more! Will visit to sit down for dine in experience. This place is definitely worth a try.

Tried Canaan in their original restaurant in Artesia. Overall the food was okay there but not enough for the drive. Thought I'd try it again now that it's closer. 1. Deep fried stinky tofu: fried well but not particularly stinky. The sauce and pickled vegetables went nicely with its sweet, tangy and savory combo with the tofu. 2. Steamed Shanghai dumpling (xiao long bao): I like the flavor of filling/soup compared to Din Tai Fung. The skin is thinner at DTF but is overall overrated IMO. The ones here are cheaper too. You can buy frozen to go but the price is the same. 3. Pork and cabbage dumpling: These are the thicker skin type of dumplings. Were okay. Probably wouldn't get it again 4. Stir fried string bean with garlic: These were good. Tastes just like DTF but there is more food and it's cheaper. 5. Braised pork on rice: Felt like something was missing in the sauce. Tasted basically like salty-ish soy sauce and seemed to be lacking some other spices or slight sweetness. 6. Broccoli beef: this is something I get at nearly every Chinese restaurant. This was pretty good but needed more broccoli to balance out the meat. Also a bit expensive got the price and quantity of food compared to other places. 7. Popcorn chicken: slightly spicy and juicy. Pretty good. It looks like they have shaved ice with brown sugar which is more like the traditional shaved ice from Taiwan. Seems like an off the menu item. Would come back to try this when it gets warmer. Service was good. The workers there speah Chinese and English. The place is small but it's less busy than DTF. If you're in the area, just come here instead.

I got the lunch special. The food was ready quick and the taste is delicious and the price is good for lunch.

Solid Taiwanese comfort food, comparable to the quality of their sister locations in Cerritos and West Covina, if not just a touch smaller portion wise. And as expected, a few bucks more per dish, given the higher COL in the South Bay. A very welcome addition to someone that actively seeks out Asian comfort food and doesn't try to do too much or try to elevate a cuisine that doesn't need it. I'll be praying for their longevity as they've inherited a challenging space that seems to have gone through many restaurants throughout the years.

I'll give it a 4.5. Food was pretty good and the place is unassuming. Didn't blow my mind or anything, but I'll definitely be back. The beef could've had my flavor in my opinion, but overall, pretty good

Ordered to go, everything was good, probably would be better if we ate there (crispier pork chop) would try again.

Great food, fast service, good prices! Their lunch special is a great deal with perfect amount of food. The food tasted more Shanghainese than Taiwanese... but maybe it depends on the dish. Went back on the same day to get dinner for the family as well!

Last Saturday I stopped in for a to go order of soup. Since I still had more time i kill off decided to eat at the bar. I really enjoyed the chicken and shrimp wonton soup. I had eaten there before and the food was so good. The popcorn shrimp being one of my favorites. If you ever in the Lomita area it is well worth stopping in.
