“Nahhh… this place actually lived up to the hype. 😭🔥 The chicken was CRAZY crispy without being dry, and every bite was juicy. Soy Garlic is hands down my favorite flavor. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and the sauce is so good I could eat it every day.

The sides were solid too, everything came out fresh and hot, and the staff was super chill. The place was clean and the whole vibe was a W.

Definitely one of the best Korean fried chicken spots I’ve had. If you’re debating whether to try bb.q Chicken, just go. The Soy Garlic is a must. 10/10, I’m already thinking about my next order.”

“A delicious made from scratch falafel in a great sandwich. Friendly staff. Since my first review I have returned and tried their Chicken and Cheese sandwich. Even better then the falafel sandwich! It is a chicken salad sandwich with lots of yummy chicken salad and Swiss cheese. I had their regular French fries 🍟 Very tasty. Again the staff was very friendly and helpful. Did I mention the tasty chicken?😋😋”

IT IS BY FAR OUR FAVORITE LOCATION - it is a fun, family owned cafe with an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can't beat the food, the price and the friendly staff. We are now Mr. G's regulars .”

I used to crave Thank You Chicken in K-town all the time, but since moving far away, I hadn't been able to have it. Luckily, I randomly discovered on Google Maps that there is a location in Lomita, and I immediately drove over!
My baby fell asleep in the car, so I originally placed a to-go order. However, while the owner was packing up the food, my baby woke up. I asked if we could switch to dine-in instead, and the owner was incredibly sweet and welcoming about it, saying it was absolutely no problem.
The chicken tasted just as amazing as I remembered, and the service was top-notch. I’m so glad I don’t have to drive all the way to K-town anymore. I will definitely be a regular here ☺”

“Honu Poke and Grill is the kind of place you try once and immediately start telling everyone about.

The spicy mayo salmon poke is hands down the best I’ve had — incredibly fresh, perfectly balanced, and packed with flavor in every bite. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The beef ribs are unreal — fall-off-the-bone tender with that rich, smoky BBQ flavor done just right. The beef galbi is just as impressive, perfectly marinated and grilled to bring out that sweet and savory combination. And don’t skip the chicken teriyaki with macaroni — it’s a must-try and such a satisfying, comforting combo.

The Hawaiian drink options are also super refreshing and really complement the food. They balance everything out perfectly and wash down all that freshness, making the whole meal even better.

Another huge plus is that they offer party trays for any gathering or celebration. It’s the perfect option if you want to impress guests with delicious, high-quality food.

Beyond the food, the experience makes it even better. The service is warm and attentive, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the restaurant is very clean and well-kept. You can tell they take pride in what they do. The owner is also incredibly kind and makes you feel genuinely appreciated as a customer, which goes a long way.

“I have been enjoying meals at Okane Umi since 2016. They have always been excellent in every category of service. The restaurant has had its share of ups and downs but I am happy with how strongly Okane Umi has powered up its menu and added some wonderfully flavorful genuine Japanese dishes. Im pleased they have reinforced their sushi, sashimi, chirashi offerings - I love this restaurant.”

“This was the first time coming here and on a Sunday at 1, I had the whole place to myself. The crunch roll was the first to eat and I couldn't wait to eat it so that's why there's only half of the roll left. As you see I wasn't playing and the roll was well worth it. Fresh and tasty. A roll of egg rolls was a must with the sweet sauce to dip. The teriyaki combo was tasty in its own way, but hands down the crunch roll is a must. I will be definitely going back.”

“Arrived an hour before closing and still recieved excellent service. They take great pride in this. My New York steak with the truffle butter was phenomenal, even the asparagus side. Their fries, just right. It's hard to find a steakhouse with this quality and service. I'm sure the rest of the menu is great and although they do not serve traditional cocktails, their wine selection is pretty good. 11/10 would recommend.”

“This is probably the best Mariscos In the City of Lomita tucked away off the north east corner of PCH & Eshelman. The seafood here is really good we ordered the cocktail de Camaron, the shrimp ceviche tostada and
Shrimp and Carne Asada burrito! 😋 Their menu is fantastic and everything is made to order. They got a good selection of beer too and wine cocktails! This place is definitely worth checking out.”

“Every Carl's Jr. seems to have an individual policy regarding how it cools its zucchini. Always ask if the zucchini is cooked with the fries, or with the meat. They all seem to keep the fryer for fries separate, which means vegetarians can enjoy Carl's Jr. fries, but not always their fried zucchini. I always order their zucchini burger now that they've discontinued the Beyond burger. This particular restaurant was clean and fast. I only wish they unified the policy of zucchini cooking so I could eat at any franchise I visit.”

I read some of the reviews that were negative. My experience was nothing but positive. I like to eat at mom and pop restaurants. The service was polite and attentive. Give this establishment a try.
