“A small hidden gem!!! We were there just last Friday. The service (as always) was wonderful, the food scrumptious and though last Friday we were sat immediately (we just happened to beat the crowd). We have had to wait a few times; and I assure everyone it is worth the wait!”

“Dined here on a Monday afternoon with the hardworking Bonnie as the restaurant’s only server. Food was quick, tasty and fresh. We ordered the Canaan special fish fillet - delicious as usual but just a bit too salty to be eaten without rice, wontons in chili oil, siumai and stinky tofu. Everything was yum! It was my first time trying stinky tofu and I did enjoy it.

Now for 1 less star: I wish they had Chinese mustard instead of American mustard to go with the dumplings. And also we felt bad for Bonnie bc she was clearly slammed with to-go orders (online and walk ins) and also 3 tables of customers, not to mention it seemed like she had to run to a corner of the restaurant to get good service as she was on the phone trying to talk phone orders. She did a great job and was apologetic to all customers but I just wish she had help.

“When go to Famous Tandoori please try their Philly Cheese Sandwich, Zinger Burger with Fries, Chicken Tikka Roll, Chapli Kabob, Shami Kabob, Lamb Biryani on Saturday, Chicken 65, Chicken Wings, Halwa Puri on Sunday, their Beef and Chicken Samosa's are the Best and Very Tasty”

“By far the best Poke in the South Bay! We’ve gone to some of the most popular ones but no, this poke has the best flavor, it’s fresh, and they let you taste before you buy! Their fried spam musubi is AMAZING!”

“Used the app to order and it was ready by the time I drove over to pick it up. Parking was an issue and I had to park on the street and walk over to the restaurant.

Glad to receive points as the closer location doesn’t provide points which is odd because you can order on the app from that location and the app even says “you’ll receive points for this order” and you don’t.”

“My wife and I are retired and we both love going out for breakfast. We have been looking for a special breakfast location in the south bay for some time and tried Mr. G's . IT IS BY FAR OUR FAVORITE LOCATION - it is a fun, family owned cafe with an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can't beat the food, the price and the friendly staff. We are now Mr. G's regulars .”

“A delicious made from scratch falafel in a great sandwich. Friendly staff. Since my first review I have returned and tried their Chicken and Cheese sandwich. Even better then the falafel sandwich! It is a chicken salad sandwich with lots of yummy chicken salad and Swiss cheese. I had their regular French fries 🍟 Very tasty. Again the staff was very friendly and helpful. Did I mention the tasty chicken?😋😋”

“I first had 6 years ago is Tustin. It has been my absolute favorite dessert/bakery since. We recently moved from San Diego to Asheville NC. I have to have food brought to me every time someone visits from SoCal. I AM TELLING YOU, open a location in Asheville NC. EASY Money for your business! The population there would topple over to buy your cheesecakes! You’d make a killing and make a very loyal customer incandescently happy!

“Me and my best friend were craving Thai and decided to come here randomly. The food was amazing!! We had drunken noodles with beef and the flavors were so good and the beef was so soft and tender. We know the papaya salad is traditional Thai dish and wanted to try for the longest time. It’s so refreshing and delicious. It has a spice to it which I love. Thai tea was amazing too, a little too sweet for my liking but still 10/10. Will be coming back to try more ! Staff were so nice. :)”

“Loved our first visit to Project Barley! The atmosphere was laid-back, friendly, and full of good vibes—the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. Huge shoutout to Zha for making us feel so welcomed and taken care of. It was our first time, but it’s definitely not our last. The beer selection? Top notch. “I have been enjoying meals at Okane Umi since 2016. They have always been excellent in every category of service. The restaurant has had its share of ups and downs but I am happy with how strongly Okane Umi has powered up its menu and added some wonderfully flavorful genuine Japanese dishes. Im pleased they have reinforced their sushi, sashimi, chirashi offerings - I love this restaurant.”

“I've been eating this restaurant A 15+ year Torrance staple! Japanese-owned with authentic Chuka Ryori (rice dishes), they still serve all the original classics, and the ramen is better than ever.

While the wok dishes are nearly as good as they were historically, everything is still great and worth ordering.

* Mabo Yakisoba / Mabo Rice (Yakisoba is the clear winner!)
* Kanitama Chahan (crab omelet over fried rice with sweet and sour glaze)
* Gomoku Rice
* Ramen & Wok-Fried Rice Combo
* Mabo Ramen
* Classic Shoyu, Miso, & Shio Ramen (upgraded!)
* Pan-Fried Gyoza

Highly recommended for both newcomers and returning regulars. The crowd is a great mix of local Japanese regulars and people of every background, which speaks to how universally approachable and comforting the menu is. It remains our family's opinion that this is the best Japanese restaurant in Torrance and Carson!

“This was the first time coming here and on a Sunday at 1, I had the whole place to myself. The crunch roll was the first to eat and I couldn't wait to eat it so that's why there's only half of the roll left. As you see I wasn't playing and the roll was well worth it. Fresh and tasty. A roll of egg rolls was a must with the sweet sauce to dip. The teriyaki combo was tasty in its own way, but hands down the crunch roll is a must. I will be definitely going back.”

“Absolutely a spectacular fine dining experience. Professional staff, and skillful cheif. Filet Mignon and Ribeye were both at the perfect temperature and preparedness. Crispy on the outer surface and tender and juicy in the center. The staff know the wine list to help advise a good selection to you liking. For dessert ordered an old fashion which was prepared with the right amount of bitters and sweetness that they smoke infused to finish a perfect dinner. Not many places do that anymore. Looking forward to our next visit... Would like to try one of their dry aged Wagu.”

“This is probably the best Mariscos In the City of Lomita tucked away off the north east corner of PCH & Eshelman. The seafood here is really good we ordered the cocktail de Camaron, the shrimp ceviche tostada and
Shrimp and Carne Asada burrito! 😋 Their menu is fantastic and everything is made to order. They got a good selection of beer too and wine cocktails! This place is definitely worth checking out.”

I read some of the reviews that were negative. My experience was nothing but positive. I like to eat at mom and pop restaurants. The service was polite and attentive. Give this establishment a try. “Shoya is a hidden gem for anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese flavors. It’s a very small, cozy restaurant with only about 10 seats, operated by just two people in the kitchen, which gives it a warm and personal atmosphere.

The menu is centered around dashi (Japanese soup stock), and you can really taste the care and craftsmanship in every dish. From the oden to the soy sauce-based dishes made with their carefully prepared dashi, everything is delicate, comforting, and true to the flavors of Japan.

Although you can often get a table without a reservation, seating is very limited, so I recommend making a reservation if possible. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese home-style flavors rather than trendy fusion cuisine, this place is definitely worth a visit.”

“Every Carl's Jr. seems to have an individual policy regarding how it cools its zucchini. Always ask if the zucchini is cooked with the fries, or with the meat. They all seem to keep the fryer for fries separate, which means vegetarians can enjoy Carl's Jr. fries, but not always their fried zucchini. I always order their zucchini burger now that they've discontinued the Beyond burger. This particular restaurant was clean and fast. I only wish they unified the policy of zucchini cooking so I could eat at any franchise I visit.”

“Loving the atmosphere at this locally owned McDonald’s. The seating is inviting and the playlist for the background music is exceptional. It ranges from Jazz music to lounge music and always provide a relaxing vibe.

I would recommend the egg biscuit breakfast meal. It rang up at about 7-8 dollars in March 2026.
It includes a biscuit, hash brown, and a coffee latte. Customization options are available.

“There’s one particular employee that elevated my experience I’d ever had at any of Taco Bell’s fast food chains. Her name is Ana Zamora. She had the most hospitality I’d ever seen out of a fast food joint. My burrito was fat and scrumptious and her smile was outstandingly friendly! 10/10 would return to this location”
