“Ko Ryo Jung Restaurant is one of my favorite spots for Korean BBQ! The AYCE is very affordable, and the quality of the meat is surprisingly good for the price. Everything tasted fresh and well-marinated, and there were plenty of options to choose from.

The servers are friendly, attentive, and quick to change the grill and bring refills. The whole experience felt welcoming and comfortable.

“I've tried just about everything on the menu at Shady Grove Foods and nothing disappoints. I can close my eyes and put my finger on the menu and I would be happy wherever it landed. I had Sticky Bones again tonight and I'm as thrilled as the first time I tried them and all the other times I've had them and in fact I feel like tonight's were the best ever. I seriously enjoy their food and hospitality. The hardest part is driving back to Cal Heights without opening the box and start eating. “I visited this restaurant with my date for dinner, and we were welcomed with a pleasant attitude and seated immediately. The atmosphere was nice and inviting. We were fortunate that there weren’t many guests that evening, which made the experience very peaceful and enjoyable.

We started with two Asahi beers while deciding what to order. We chose the A5 Wagyu Set, which included tongue, ribeye, short rib, chuck flap, and tenderloin. The set also came with a salad, kimchi, and bean sprouts, and we ordered a few bowls of rice on the side.

Our server was very friendly and even gave us helpful tips on which cuts of meat to start with. Although there was a button at the table to call for service, she would occasionally check in on us to see if we needed anything or were enjoying our meal, which we truly appreciated.

All of the meats were phenomenal, and the portion size was very satisfying for both of us. To end the evening, we ordered Wagyu sushi—one piece served raw and the other cooked—and both were absolutely delicious.“

“I enjoyed my first order from here. I ordered the Rib platter with Mac & cheese with cabbage. The order also included a side of brisket beans and the brookie. The Dixon Kitchen was very generous with the portions. I especially favored the mac & cheese, beans and the brookie! Today, the second time ordering it was the chicken and brisket platters. The brisket platter with the beans and mac & cheese was fresh and tasty.However, the chicken was not as advertised, it seemed to be cooked in old oil, because the wings were cooked dark, not crispy and lack of taste. The fries were cut whimsically in odd pieces with no flavor and cold. Even my brookie was packaged differently, which caused it to be all chipped off when I received it. This occurred because the packaging was four times the size, allowing it to tumble during delivery. The person whom literally threw my meal together seemed not to care, today. Thank you for my first good experience, a couple of weeks ago, which was unlike today's second attempt. We have plenty of leftovers.“

The staff were incredibly attentive and A++ for the cleanliness of the restaurant. 😊 I really like that most of the common cookable meats are out on the salad bar as well as vegetables, appetizers, all the sauces, fruits 🤤 all readily available to everyone - so you can easily get more. 😉 I highly recommend trying the beef belly, beef rib finger and marinated short ribs each cut was tender and flavorful. It seems they rely heavily on rubs rather than a variety of seasonings, resulting in a lack of flavor. On the positive side, the charring on the meat is quite well done. The establishment is very clean, and the portion sizes are generous, ensuring you will leave feeling full. While the taste could benefit from additional flavor, I would recommend it to others primarily for its presentation. “Food is not bad. Grill is very small - good for 2 people but not for 3 or more.
Ventilation is pretty bad, your hair and clothes won’t survive the bbq odor with smoke directly hovering into your face most of the time. Some people might actually enjoy this dinning experience, but definitely not for all.
Price is on the higher side, quality is fine, overall value is average.“
