This is one of my favorite pastry’s in LA. It has very beautiful deserts and bakeries. I have been here more than 5 times and their service is so nice and patient. Highly recommend Rochelle and grapefruit gelee (if you like the very original taste of grapefruit ).

I came here a couple times before, even though is overpriced I thought it’s nice to support small business. This time I got some cakes to go and another one for dine in, $7 per cake, no signal here, and was told last min I can’t drink my coffee here. If I wanted ice to keep the cake nice that was also extra cost, not worth it.

You can close your eyes and point to anything in their pastry case and you'll always get something delicious. The quality in their bakes are always consistent, as with their attention to detail even when packaging up your pastries. My absolute favorite is their seasonal pommier, but I will always come back for their classics: sesame choux pastry, mont blanc, gateau marron. ilu patisserie chantilly

The quality and beautiful craftsmanship of each cake is worth the money. We are fan of grapefruit jelly cup and hoping they will make it available year round.

Before SomiSomi made black sesame a trendy flavor on IG, there were the black sesame cream puffs from Patisserie Chantilly, made famous by a shout-out from Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold. Before that, black sesame wasn't considered a cool dessert flavor. How could it be cool when black sesame was a favorite dessert flavor from my parents' generation. (I truly appreciate these traditional desserts now, but when I was a kid, I just wanted to be like my American friends and eat cake, pie, and ice cream for dessert.) The French-inspired Japanese pastries here all look amazing, and unlike American desserts, they are light, delicate, and not too sweet. But what stands out the most is how earnestly the clerk tried to convince me to purchase little dry ice packs to keep the cream puffs at the perfect temperature. Fortunately, the ice packs are quite affordable, one 36 cent ice pack for every 30 minutes of driving. I must not look too convinced because she even pulled out a one-page document on the science behind it. It wasn't that I didn't believe her, the cream puffs and cake slices all looked so good I wasn't sure they would last 10 minutes in the car. But as soon as she pulled out that one-page document, I straightened up and paid attention as if I were in a final exam review session. The instincts from all my years of test-taking suddenly kicked in...if a professor takes the time to draw a complex diagram on the board, it is important and will probably be on the test. In the end, all that extra effort to make sure I understood the importance of temperature meant they cared about the product and, most importantly, the customer's enjoyment. It felt like my mother reminding me to wear a jacket before I went out, and now that I am on my own in this cold world, I really appreciate my mother's reminders. Likewise, when I bite into the black sesame cream puff with its perfect combination of light, airy, and crunchy textures, even the next day, I truly appreciate their artistry and attention to detail.

There are bakeries and then there's Chantilly. Head and shoulders above anything in the South Bay, possibly Los Angeles. Their cakes and pasteries are an incredible mix of Japanese and French inspired creations. The service is like no other you will get other than in Japan. Always a literal treat to go. Beyond 5 stars!

I have been wanting to try this place out for awhile based on the beautiful pictures over Yelp and finally got the chance! Albeit, we did get a bunch of pastries to-go so they weren't perfectly fresh but they were eaten a couple hours later. They package the baked goods very well with ice and instructions to eat them soon after which I really appreciated. We got an assortment of things but the favorites were the the Le Matcha and Mousse Mango. The le matcha was fluffy and herbal, almost cloud like. I was very exited for the black sesame cream puff, however it definitely wasn't as fresh to go. Ours was soggy and one of my least favorite- but I can't hold that against them! I will just have to go back to try one fresh. I also didn't love the Mont Blanc which had an almost gritty texture. All the desserts here were not too sweet which I think many people appreciate and all very light and delicate. Would definitely recommend for an older group as opposed to kids who usually want more sweet desserts.

yummy but you will definitely pay for it. the service is super friendly. i came here on christmas and they still served us well! the location is super convenient, tons of parking. however, there's no seating area so it's definitely a to-go spot.

This is now the place I get my birthday and Christmas cakes and the occasional sweets. I am in love with their chocolate tarts. They are a bit pricey but that hasn't stopped me yet. I just can't stop. It's so good. They run out of cakes quickly sometimes cause there are people out there that ask for almost three whole inventory and from my experience, you can't ask them to hold the individual small cakes. So you should go there few hours before they close. When you order, if there's a certain cake you're looking for I would ask and sometimes there might be more just waiting to be placed behind the glass! The clerks are very nice here usually but it feels a bit understaffed sometimes, so I would eat at home.
