“We had friends coming to visit from Arizona and wanted to take them somewhere special for dinner. We heard about the newly reopened Paseo in Mill Valley and decided to try it. We were welcomed by the friendly manager Kevin as we entered. After giving us a tour we were seated in the main dining room by a cozy fireplace. We ordered cocktails along with a charcuterie board and roasted Brussels sprouts. At the recommendation of our knowledgeable waiter Will, my sister and I ordered the beet salad. One of our guests had the Market Green Salad and another raved about her Potato Leek Soup. Wanting to try different entrees we ordered California Halibut, Braised Osso Busco, Mary's Chicken Breast, Rib Eye Steak, and Roasted Duck Breast with orange glaze. The taste and presentation exceeded our expectations. As we were enjoying coffee along with Chocolate Indulgence, a (layered torte) and a Peanut Crunch Bar, Chef Branden approached our table to see how we enjoyed our meal. We all told him how much we enjoyed the food, his beautiful presentation, and the smiling staff. We had a great five star experience and will definitely be back!“

“Aziza is one of our top three restaurants to go to. The food is always incredible and delicious. The cornbread is to DIED for. We also loved the kefta. Though not a fan of them changing the presentation of it from these little balls to a single log. It's hard to order it as a shared dish. #bringbackthekeftaballs. Besides that, two thumbs up.“

“What a night... the server Johnny, was amazing. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. He was attentive, and came with a great sense of humor. Great hire and it would be a shame if y'all ever gave him up. Keep in mind this was my first time here and what an impression he left on my family, will be back soon again. Thank you Johnny and thank you Sorella.“

“Took a while to get a table and there’s not much seating inside, but we got the coziest little table by the kitchen. The spicy tomato pizza is insanely good! The rosemary pizza was solid but I felt that it needed more salt. Staff and vibe are great. Highly recommend“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.“

“Absolutely fantastic! The lemon ricotta pancakes are to die for. Literally! I'd take a bullet for them. Their business model and employee pay structure truly is inspiring and stands out in our Capitalistic land of greed and self-centeredness. Oh, and full brunch menu on a Friday afternoon?? Yes Please!“

“Among many excellent Italian spots in the city, this stood out. The homemade pasta has the perfect texture, and the fillings and sauces are delicate and wonderful. Service was kind and attentive, and the space - a favorite when it was Locanda and Ancora - remains intimate and elegant. Looking forward to another opportunity to dine.“

“I've been coming to Canela for years and it never disappoints. I've been with just one or two friends, and have been here in larger groups when celebrating a birthday or other occasion. The staff is always engaging and the service superb. I often go for some favorites, such as the chicken croquettes, but also try new dishes as well. I don't think I've ever had anything that wasn't flavorful. We got pretty stuffed on this last visit and sadly had to skip dessert. I recommend that everyone who goes here tries to save some room. They have wonderful desserts and their churros are a must!“

“The salmon was unreal. Got it on my avacado toast. Will for SURE be going back just for the salmon. Everyone absolutely loved their food. My boyfriend said it was the best BLT he ever had. The owner was super friendly and helpful! I think the tumeric latte was too adventurous for me but otherwise the regular cappuccino was good“

“We had a reservation and waited a bit to be seated. I thought there were mostly solid hits and some lackluster items. Bread and crudo were amazing. Risotto a bit under. Dry pork and potatoes but great sides to the pork. Complex desserts were a great way to end the night.“

“We started with the crispy sticky rice salad with sour pork sausage and ginger. Spicy! Good tasting, but a tiny bit over salted. The chili lime grilled squid and pork jaw was absolutely fantastic. We also had the crispy chicken with spicy curry paste and pole beans. The lemon zest on top was delicious. Highly recommend this place in the iconic hotel kabuki in Japan town.“

“My first time here, everything was great. My only complaint was its very crowded meaning that the tables are very close together. Our waiter said he has been working there for 20 years. That's impressive. Overall, it's a great spot. The food is wonderful, the other 3 I was with got the roasted chicken and I went with the steelhead.“

Our servers went out of their way to make us feel special and were so much fun to interact with. “Small wine bar in the heart of Russian Hill. Perfect spot for 2-3 people, since most of the seating is bar seating or communal tables. All the servers are knowledgeable about the wine selection and always have great recommendations. I love their orange wines and all the food is amazing. They make beautiful cheese plates and pair the cheeses perfectly with jams and honey. If you can't decide what cheeses to order, tell them what you like/dislike and they will curate the perfect board for you!“

“First, the good: good wine, knowledgable and friendly staff, yummy snacks!I really want this place to succeed which is why I'm writing some constructive feedback! I recently moved to the neighborhood and have been looking for my cozy neighborhood wine bar to hang out with with a few friends or to read a book. I WANT this to be that place, but after going a few times there are just a few things that don't make me eager to go super often or recommend to friends, but I think they are easy to improve!Areas for improvement:-coziness and seating for smaller parties. The place is tiny and I get that! But the majority of the seating is 2 large tables that seat ~6 people. I guess in theory the tables could be communal but generally wind up seating 1 medium-larger group, so I feel weird grabbing a seat at them. When I show up on my own that means I have to sit at the bar or at one of the window high top stools (which have no back rest). Last time I was there I brought a book and after ~30 mins was getting back pain :( I would've stayed for a second glass of wine but decided to head home instead. A few comfier chairs or smaller tables that seat 2-4 (and could be pushed together for larger parties) would make me a lot more likely to go more often/stay for longer.-in a similar vein, the lighting inside at night is somewhat cold. A little bit warmer/cozier lighting would make the place feel more homey. Again, only sharing this in the hopes that this feedback is helpful! Would love to see this place continue to grow and succeed :)“

“Love the vibe here! The decor and moody lighting make this is a great spot for a night cap or date. We had the burrata which came with bread, tomatoes, and sautéed green beans. It was super yummy and refreshing. The wine is always amazing as well, love the little descriptions for each wine on the menu. Super creative and always make me laugh!“

“Exactly what millennials want and need: reasonable volume music, reasonable priced food and drink, and a classy but fun VIBE.Quality: 4.5Value: 5 (for SF)Service: 4Ambience: 5This place has great happy hour deals and a really great set of decor and music. You can head yourself talk! But the music is also good. What a concept!Service was a little mid; one of the servers wasn't in a great mood/was struggs but the rest were nice, and stuff came out eventually. The cocktails were GREAT! Really delightful choices and prices.Their happy hour deal on oysters is also pretty unheard of: $1.50 each and they were wonderful, briny and creamy.French fries were also great, as was the ceviche. Also, the ceviche we had was one of the best I've ever had.“

“This is a fabulous restaurant within The Intercontinental on Howard. Bistro 888 is staffed by wonderful staff of The Intercontinental. The food shares a kitchen with the Michelin starred Luce. The staff tend to stay and remember returning guests. You can eat at the bar as an option, where you may meet both locals and travelers. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced, especially considering it's within a hotel, which often means overpriced meals. Our burger was a 10 of 10! Everything was great! We'll be back!!!“

“First time. Waiter was very friendly and tentative. Drinks and food came out in a timely manner and it was yummy! All of it was really good but my favorite was the beet salad, the spaghetti pasta, As for the pizza, I think we tried 4-5 different ones. My favorite was the pepperoni and the mushroom. Dessert... we did try all 3 and they were all my favorite. Was a great experience.“

“This is the first place we ate on our trip, and it set the bar HIGH we absolutely loved it. They had some awesome gf options!I started with the house made lemonade and was absolutely in love. The perfect lemonade, I wish it had been free refills because I would’ve drank 7 cups at least. Then we had the tarp chips with siracha aioli and was pleasantly surprised how well the earthy chips with the tangy sauce went together. Yum!I had the steak frites with truffle fries and it was phenomenal! My husband had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and said it was one of the best he’d ever had! (And he has tried lots of chicken sandwiches!)10/10 would eat here again the staff was so friendly and accommodating and made us feel right at home. Dietary restrictions: They had awesome attitudes and were very knowledgeable and willing to make alterations to dishesKid-friendliness: While kids could definitely eat here, the vibe is much more geared towards adults.“

“Walked in and was met with a charming wine bar on Polk street that still has an aesthetic feel. Enjoyed the fun light fixtures and hanging neon banana a lot for the funky vibes. Tried a white wine and a natural wine here. The day was winding down so service was a bit slower, but totally makes sense because it was late and everyone was definitely starting to wrap up. Enjoyed my experience! Will definitely be back and hopefully get to try some bites as the kitchen was closed when I visited.“

“Solo diner experience at the newly opened and highly lauded on social media restaurant. It's very crowded and busy even at 10pm. The bar seating is a tight shoulder to shoulder situation, so if you are not comfortable with that or perhaps you are on the larger side, consider coming with friends so that you can secure table seating. I would suggest to the owners to put bag hooks under the bar counter in the future. Onto the food, you are treated to a complimentary amuse bouche of smashed cucumber and roasted salted peanuts. The drinks menu is lively and extensive, though I ended up just opting for water. I ordered the salted egg & squash croquette, salt&pepper squid skewer, fish fragrant eggplant, red bean shaved ice, "huckleberry" (it's blueberry)tofu hua, and mango pudding.Croquette: 4pcs. Freshly fried, molten creamy and sweet squash inside. Make sure you open it first and let the steam out. Helps you swallow the squid skewer if you ran out of water. 4/5Squid skewer: green onion, jalapeno?, squid, mala spice, not my favorite bite as a side from the numbing spicy seasoning and onion there wasn't much flavor to the squid 2/5?Eggplant: ? a whole clay pot of braised eggplant!!!! Generously portioned and seasoned. It's not heavy or greasy at all. They should just have this over rice as a default tbh. I ordered a $3 rice on the side. 5/5?Shave ice: Soft powder type shave ice, sweet milk, red bean, boba pearls, vanilla ice cream. Decent portion. 4/5"Huckleberry" tofu: Served warm. It's blueberry. If you get this combine it with the shaved ice trust me!! 3/5Mango pudding: The combination of flavors and texture was intense. Think gushers candy and those choking hazard jelly cups you ate as a kid and add nuts! Your Asian aunty would definitely say this dessert was too sweet. But it definitely was powerful. A bit syrupy for me. ? 2/5I'll come back with friends so I can feasibly try more dishes, and see if other people agree with me that the mango pudding is 厉害.. and to try the elusive fried bread. Very friendly service as well. See you again next time!“

“Thanks to Christina, our friendly and efficient server, I can write a very positive review for Bungalow 44. A year ago my husband and I visited here and were shocked at the poor service. It marred any enjoyment of the meal. When my sister wanted to go here for her birthday dinner last night , I said yes with my fingers crossed. Our server Christina greeted us upon arrival and throughout the dinner was attentive without being intrusive. She was knowledgeable and made wonderful recommendations. We enjoyed the fig cheese flatbread, pork chop, steak frites and a delicious dessert. Eating under the tent has a wonderful ambiance. We received attention but never felt rushed. Give it a try and I hope you get Christina as your server!“
