After trying both YingTang and YGF, we're bigger fans of YT's. At YT, they said the style is more Taiwanese in terms of the spices and base, it's still very different compared to Taiwan's version, but not in a bad way. If you ge the soup version, the broth here is this nice rich beef broth. The "spicy" or the "mala" is more of the fragrant chili oil so it's actually not like your typical super numbing mala. Price is done by weight and the selection here is actually quite nice. Ingredients are pretty good although we found the beef brisket slices to be way too fatty. Lots of veggies and items you typically see at hot pot places. The sauce bar is solid, with this sacha that I also prefer much more than YGF's. Looking forward to trying the dry version next time!

I think I'll stick to the tomato beef broth moving forward. I'm not a fan on Szechuan peppers which is included in the standard beef broth. Plus, the tomato base adds SOOO much flavor! I believe they have a vegetable (vegetarian tomato broth) available as well, just need to specify otherwise they'll give you the tomato beef broth. I love that they separate the mushrooms instead of mixing it into a medley. I could get all the enoki I want!!! I do wish they had more toppings options, like udon and raw egg but I'm still happy with what they do offer. Can't believe I managed to finish 1.52lbs when my BF only got .99lbs lol! What can I say... Girl was hungry! Parking can be tricky if you are entering from Lincoln Ave. You have to lookout for the first alley street just before the hotel. Drive all the way down and park. First door to your right of the parking is YinTang. There are no signage in the back sadly and it smells heavy of cigarette smoke back there...

only ~$14/lb!! Lots of street parking near by. I feel like this place has the most selection in terms of veggies and different food for the malatang. It was so yum and plenty of seating inside. Would def come again!

This is a pay by the pound buffet place where we get our own ingredients and choose a broth and they cook it in the kitchen for you. Tasty, good quality ingredients. Great service. Reasonable prices. The broth was delicious.

Really enjoyed this place! You grab a bowl and tongs and get to choose items to put in your hot pot. They had a decent amount of items to choose from (veggies, carbs, fish balls, etc.) but they only had two choices of sliced meat (beef and lamb). It costs $14/per pound which is fair since you get a lot of food. They have two broth options: beef (mild, medium, or hot) and tomato. I chose mild beef and it was a creamy broth (which I wasn't expecting) and it was quite spicy. It was delicious and filling though! They also have a sauce bar where you can make your own sauce. The workers were friendly and helpful and the space was clean and quite spacious!

Food is great. There's a good variety of ingredients you can build your soup from. I will warn you the soup is HOT, make sure to let it cool or you might burn your mouth. Over great place.

We've had Yintang Spicy Hot Pot once before but in Irvine, and it exceeded our expectations. We were around the area here in Monterey Park and decided to give this location a try. Keep in mind, this was around 7-8pm. We parked at the back and walked over to the front. We were excited that it was not busy in comparison to the other location. The staff were nice. They had our table ready with utinsels and water as we were picking our toppings. As we were waiting for our food, we went to grab the sauces...a few of them were nearly empty or was empty. What a disappointment. As I got back to our table, I tasted my sauce that I mixed and realized that the garlic just tasted old. You know it's fresh when you can taste the strong aroma of garlic (that's what we experienced at the other location). When we received our bowls and took a sip of the soup, both just tasted watered down (tomatoe soup and the original soup). It didn't have that rich flavor that we were expecting. The meat (beef)I had this strong gamey taste. The Chinese donut tasted like it's old and stale. However, the noodles, mushroom, and everything else that I had was fine. The waiter was attentive and continued to refilled my water. Overall experience, I'd give it a 3/5. Food didn't meet my expectations since the bar was pretty high after tasting it from their other location. I'm not sure if this is normal for this location or if it was because we were there late during the day. Maybe we might give it another shot but in the morning and see if there's a difference.

I've always loved cart noodles from Hong Kong - a concept where you can have a bowl of soup noodles and put any ingredients you want in the noodles. While having different broths and ingredients from cart noodles, YinTang Spicy Hot Pot offers a very similar concept. Despite its name, I would not really consider this place a hot pot place. When I think hot pot, I think of a stove with boiling water, ingredients given table side, and then we cook our food ourselves. Instead, at this restaurant, we can pick a selection of vegetables, meats, and so forth, select a broth type, and then the entire bowl is prepared for you. The order at this time is $13.99 a pound. I got a little bit of everything, including eggs, spam, hot dog, tofu, beef, and lamb. I used instant noodles to really get the Hong Kong style effect. I asked for mild broth. Even the mild broth was just a bit too spicy for me, but the dish still reminded me of cart noodles from Hong Kong. Everything tasted amazing. I would definitely come back.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. hands down one of my favorite places at eat at in monterey park. you can select your own ingredients and then they cook it for you with a choice to sweet tomato broth or spicy beef broth. It's overall so delicious and reasonably priced! my favorite are the clear yam noodles. you just have to be aware of how much you're putting in your bowl so it's not overweight and too expensive since they charge by the pound. the trick is to drip out all the water before putting it in ur bowl or choosing non frozen meat so it's lighter. service is quick and friendly and there's a sauce bar as well. i love coming here when i get hangovers because the broth truly heals the soul

First time for the by the weight pick your own hot ingredients. $15 per lbs. you get a big bowl and fill it with veggies, tofu, meats, seafood balls noodles etc.. Three choices of soup bases, tomato, beef and veggie option. They weight the bowl give you a tag and cook the bowl of ingredients. There is a sauce bar with the usual Chinese hot pot condiments. The flavor is ok, tried both the beef and the tomato. Definitely the tomato soup base was better at this restaurant. Also, I've seen other stores with a wider selection of ingredients which would make the bowl more interesting. Pluses, you can customize a smaller individual hot pot bowl. Price is definitely good. Minues, limited choices of soup bases. Actual meats and seafood are limited. Minimal interaction with the staff. Quick personalized hot pot.

Your standard Malatang. Pick what you want at the salad bar and weigh it. They will cook according to your spice preference. You can pick which sauces you want to add to your bowl after it's cooked and brought to your table. The flavor of the Malatang is very good and takes us back to China with it's authentic flavor. Service is very attentive. They refilled our waters several times. It costs 13.99/per a LB You pay after you eat We will come back again to fulfill my wife's craving for Malatang

Hot pot by the pound! Love this place. The meat broth at medium spice is perfection. I'm looking forward to trying their tomato broth, but I just can't resist getting the meat broth since I know how much I like it. There's a decent selection for you to customize your bowl. It's so easy to grab too much, but just take your leftovers home. I worried about soggy noodles and over cooked meat/ veggies, but it's still delicious 24 hrs later. I try to aim for less than a pound so I can finish it in a sitting, and it's a really filling meal for less than $15. It's fast casual: get assigned a table, build your bowl at the buffet, take it to the register to be weighed and cooked, get your ticket, take a seat, and the server will bring it to you. Take your ticket back to the register when you're done eating and pay. There's a self serve sauce bar, but the soup is so flavorful that I never use it. Don't forget the stamp card!

I love hotpot and knew I had to come try this place out. It's nice that you can pick what you want and how much of it you want. All the stuff they had was super yummy and I even got a free drink from them. They also have really good broth that pairs with all the stuff I picked. The only thing is that I feel like it's a bit expensive. I realized I can do all of this at home for the fraction of the price. Regardless, it was really yummy and I would come back if I feel like not doing at home myself.
