“Great Dim Sum spot for classic dim sum food and not too long on wait for a table.”
“Endroit hyper typique ! Bonne musique, cocktails d’un excellent niveau et à un prix tout à fait honnête, tous les classiques sont dispo et le barman tient la corde niveau cordes vocales !! Excellente carte de dîner ! Nous n’avons pas testé le grill … seul regret de la soirée. Il faut qu’on y retourne, absolument”

“I've been craving skewers and this place hit the spot!! We got their early around 6pm and there was no wait. Got seated right away.
We ordered the beef, lamb, and chicken skewers along w some buns, golden soup and topped it off with dessert durian pizza.
I couldnt give it a 5 stars for the food because I felt like the lamb skewers could have been better. There was a lot of fat and being that the skewers are very small, each bite should be meat of lamb not fat. But overall the food was good and it tempt my craving.
The price overall was high. I managed to rack the bill over $150 n that's just with 3 of us. So be prepared. 😄”

“This restaurant has an extensive menu of northern Chinese, Sichuan dishes and Peking duck. Unlike other pecking duck restaurants, we did not have the call in advance to pre order the duck. We were a party of 2 and we tried the marinated cold jelly fish, the pecking duck and the stir fried morning glory (ong choi) with garlic. We found all these dishes delicious and of high quality. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. The dining room is nicely decorated and noise level low.”
“The best Burmese cuisine I have tried in the US of A! Fantastic food, lovely people and awesome service. Highly recommended. I had indian-burmese fusion samosas, Yangon street cafes style, the best I ever had!
Monthinga is good although pretty mild for my taste. More than decent warm mushy tofu. One of the best Nangyithoke. Complementary sago pudding is great too. We didn't have the time for dessert so they packed it for us. Can't recommend them enough.”
“They give A GOOD AMOUNT of food here. Great for FAMILY STYLE SHARING or just extra food for another day, hahaha!

“Jin Hai / Beijing Pie House has gotten better over the years. The lamb and leeek meat pies arrived nice and crispy with ample soup inside. The lamb flavor was subtle and clean with a satisfying smattering of yellow leek.
The three ingredient dumplings (leek, pork, shrimp) were supple and balanced. The thick looking wrappers were deceptively supple with a bit of bite and flavor of the fillings sang a song of freshness.
Glad we came back and will put this back in our rotation.”
“I enjoyed this place a lot. It was a little bit hard to find at first, as it is located above the supermarket. The server was very friendly, helping me to find a good vegetarian option. The cold sesame noodles were tasty and refreshing, and the price is not bad ($8.99). The dining area is spacious and comfortable.”
“Cute dessert spot that feels reminiscent of classic HK/TW dessert shops. We came on a Saturday night and were seated right away—no wait. It’s largely a self-service experience (ordering straight from the menu and servers are basically just runners).
Prices are a little on the high side, but kudos to them for delivering dishes that actually look like the photos. Therefore, there are plenty of Instagram-worthy items for those looking for that! Good experience, but not necessarily a repeatable one.
(For taste, I do recommend the mango/grape dessert - though that’s not as unique as the other items).”
“First time every eating in a restaurant on a styrafoam plate, but it didn't take away from my meal. Tried out their noodles with beef and I found it to be quite tasty with the sauce. Small simple little place, tempted to return for their breakfast and evening specials”
“Best sushi in LA! Everything melted in your mouth! The fish is fresh, the price is affordable, and the service is great! It looks like a hole in the wall - but wow :)) We eat there once a week and love it! Drove all the way from Studio City to have dinner there - 2 hours each way in traffic - so that's obviously what it says :)) Haha Just love it!”

“The San Gabriel location closed and now I have to drive to Monterey Park. So glad it tastes the same because this place is deliciously delicious. The spicy fried rice is devilishly delectable because of the heat and combined with the pineapple curry it's damn near damning. Screw Flanders.”
“Yeah!! I still remember being a bit disappointed the first time I went to the Century City location — it just didn’t feel that cute. But this new store has so much atmosphere! Even though the donuts are a bit sweet for me, it’s just really nice sitting here.”
“They were not joking when they called this comfort food. I was sick, and it was raining, so I wanted something warm and hearty. This place seemed like the obvious choice, and far exceeded my expectations. Food came out fast and blistering hot, but still perfect temperature to eat right away. It was somehow nostalgic, even though it was my first time trying this dish. The tofu was extremely soft, but held its shape well, and very flavorful from absorbing the liquid. It really felt like it cured by illness.
Portion size was also very generous, which is always important. The menu was also pretty varied, I could imagine coming back multiple times and trying something new each time.”

“Go here and go here soon. This place is great. Super fresh everything. Big coolers on one wall where you select meat and veg on trays and skewers. The assortment is broad. I was fortunate to have gone with friends from China, so they guided my choices. You can't go wrong with the basics here, though. Friendly service and very clean. Open late!”
“Really good spot for takeout pho. The broth was super flavorful and still hot when I got home, which I really appreciated. Everything was packed neatly and the portions were actually pretty generous for the price.
I got the pho to-go and the ingredients all tasted fresh, especially the herbs and bean sprouts. Service was quick and easy too. Definitely one of those places I’d come back to whenever I want something warm and comforting after a long day 🍜”
“I recently stopped by Good Shine Kitchen Chinese Food to pick up some dumplings and wontons, and I was honestly really impressed with the quality and flavor. You can tell right away that this place focuses on comfort food done the right way, without trying to overcomplicate things.
The dumplings were the highlight for me. The wrappers were thin but sturdy, not overly thick or doughy, and they held together perfectly after cooking. The filling tasted fresh and well-seasoned, with a good balance of meat and texture. They reminded me a lot of homemade dumplings you’d eat with family, especially the kind you freeze and cook whenever you’re craving something warm and satisfying.
The wontons were just as good. The filling was smooth and flavorful, and they cooked evenly without falling apart. Whether you enjoy them in soup or on their own, they’re comforting and simple in the best way. This is the kind of food that feels familiar if you grew up eating Chinese or Taiwanese-style home cooking.
The restaurant itself feels low-key and local, but the food quality is solid and consistent. Portions are generous for the price, and it’s a great spot if you’re looking for authentic-tasting dumplings and wontons without needing a fancy setup.
I’ll definitely be coming back to restock my freezer and try more items from their menu. Highly recommended if you’re in the Monterey Park area and craving real comfort Chinese food.”
“I lived in China for 14 years and this is the most authentic Chinese restaurant I have eaten at in Los Angeles. There is a dish at the restaurant called Pídàn qiézǐ (皮蛋茄子). It's a preserved egg and eggplant combination. Sounds funky, tastes amazing. Don't expect eggs rolls, rangoons, & fortune cookies, but if you want a taste of central China without the air fare and hassle of getting a visa, go to Chef Fu's. 好吃!”
“The dim sum here is good, especially their shrimp eggplant toast and chicken feet. They offer complimentary indoor parking, which is a big plus. The service is generally good, but if you order main dishes, expect a longer wait especially during busy weekend lunch hours. Overall, it’s a nice spot for dim sum, just be prepared for slower service when it’s crowded.”
“Visited here 2 weeks ago.. the vibe is awesome. The location is tiny but a great use of space and great energy. Shout out to Cindy she is a rockstar! I think Monday nights with Mindy are the best kept secret at this place. Thanks for bringing joy and care into the world through painting (and Boba)... See you soon!”
“5/2026:
I've tried a few other dim sum places around the area and this is the only place I've been to that serves chili sauce as well as real chili oil with the actual chili flakes. It makes a huge difference. The food also comes out piping hot. They are literally cooking some of the food on their dim sum carts, which is awesome.
2023:
Prices are decent for dimsum which is great; it's cheaper during the week. My friends and I like coming here. The staff seem to recognize us.
On some days the food is greasy; other days, not so much. If the food is not greasy, we end up eating and ordering more food.”
“Went here yesterday and had a pretty good experience. The BBQ tasted really good and the meat was flavorful.Service was nice and the food came out fresh. The atmosphere was okay, could be a little better, but overall I enjoyed it and would come back again. You guys must try their signature big grilled oysters with garlic, super flavorful and definitely one of the best things on the menu.”
“The food and services are excellent. We eat here every time we visit!”

“First time trying seafood boil and I’m glad my wife and I picked this place. All the staff is very welcoming, the location is very clean, the food is amazing and portions are great. Thank you for the good experience!”
“Place specialize in hand pulled noodles and home made dumplings. Very authentic. Recommend the lamb noodles. Just visited again. As delicious as ever. I would love the owners to replace the plasticware with ceramic again. Always weird to eat out plasticware at a restaurant.”

“This place is unassuming, but then they sucker punch you with HANDS DOWN the BEST WONTON NOODLES EVER. I have yet to eat more perfect wonton noodles with dumplings. The broth is simple and clean and delicious and the dumplings are amazinngggg as well. I have gotten multiple dishes here and have had the most awesome taste bud adventures.
If you're not a noodle person (le gasp), you can't go wrong with the curry and the hainan chicken. I don't know how they do it. The food is rich in flavor but I don't feel greasy or anything after eating it. I guess it's just super fresh ingredients, homemade, and skillfully cooked food. Try it to believe it!!”
“Their breakfast special (available until 11 am) is awesome. For about 14 dollars, I got one Hong Kong style iced milk tea, one huge piece of fried chicken steak and egg, plus stir fried noodle. Very authentic Hong Kong style. Plenty of parking behind the building.”
“And they were having a promotion where if I leave a review, I get a free drink so I’m grateful for that. The tea was good. There was only a little bit of miscommunication with customizing a drink and they make you do the review before they give you the drink so other than that I will definitely come back.”
“The place is really small but always busy in the morning. The steamed buns are their specialty i think. We had onion and beef as well as boc-choi and lamb. Also a tofu soup. Only Chinese speaking and cash only. But we worth an experience to try. The parking is in back nearby.”

“My wife’s family and I come here at least 1-2 a month. I love coming here. Typically I’ll order their salt and pepper pork, but I’ve yet to order something I didn’t like on their menu.
Service is always extremely friendly and the food usually comes out promptly.”
“I dropped by to try the skewers. I ordered a pitcher of beer to go with them. I got the beef vessel, tendon and intestine as well as the lamb, pork belly and chicken gizzard. It was fun watching them rotate on the grill automatically. They have some games you can play to win prizes.
The service was good. I think there was mainly one person handling the tables and he was very efficient.
There's no parking lot. I had no issues finding free parking in the neighborhood.”

“Wow! Meat pies from heaven in a mini- mall off N Garfield Avenue. Everything here is great. Not a sit down place as such, since it's really small and they only have a few tables, but I'm sure you could eat in if you wanted to (they have a short menu) - but it's not really a restaurant atmosphere - more of a small hole in the wall family run takeout, with Grandpa making dumplings by hand at a table when I was there. There seems to be very little English spoken here. Very delicious and authentic - I'll be back!”
“Its been a long time since I've felt like giving a generous tip. Its hard to find/see someone paying attention to his surroundings, clear communicator and making things happen for everyone. I felt bad for the tables that didnt have his service. Michael, was and over the top with waitering and his hospitality. He went the extra mile making sure my grandma and I had a great dining experience. Thank you Michael.”
“Food is below average as far as HK cuisine in the area. Hospitality is definitely the most authentic HK you can experience though, i.e. service sucks but that's authentic HK experience for you. Ordered ice HK milk tea and it's all sugar taste. Order seafood noodles and noodle is bland but at least decent amount of shrimp and octopus.
5 stars though as most people only read 5 stars reviews. And also I suffered, you must too.”

“If you want a cake from here order ahead of time, it's recommended that you order at least three or two days ahead. When I arrived today, I showed up and there wasn't anymore Green Tea Cake, I was about to leave when the cashier asked me what cake I came here for. When I indicated that I wanted a green tea cake, the baker was literally pushing a freshly baked one for the display. Perfect timing literally, they immediately boxed it up and I paid money for it. Otherwise, I was thinking about whether I really wanted a Tiramisu cake.
I would recommend that you swing by a few days before and try the cakes by the slice. Then place your order, right then and there. The Tiramisu they had on display was a Hello Kitty face made with ground coffee on the cake which was very cute but I had green tea on my mind.
This bakery is similar to 85° but I kinda like these guys more.
I came here because my coworker brought me some cake from her kid's birthday party and it was very mild not overtly sweet like American cakes. They have five types of cakes available: a black forest, chocolate mousse, mango, Tiramisu and a green tea cake. I have tried four of the five cakes and they are all mildly sweet. Even the mango passes my flavor profile.”
“Teas ($/lb.):
Bi Luo Chun Spring Snail Green (曲綠碧螺春) $89.99
Dancing Butterfly (玉蝶金蓮) $108.99
Delightful Bouquet (幸福花籃) $108.99
High Mountain Fog Green Tea (高山雲霧) $95.99
High Mountain Tie Guan Yin (高級高山韻香鐵觀音) $68.99
Rose Black Tea (玫瑰古樹紅茶) $39.99
Spring Queen Pearl of Jasmin Green Tea (珍珠茉莉花茶皇) $149.99
Superior Peony (White Tea) (明前高級白牡丹) $159.99
West Lake Longjing Tea (明前)(西湖龍井茶--龍塢茶村) $148.00 for 8 oz.
Bird Pick Glorious Paradise $6.50/0.5 oz. (2 rosettes)
Bird Pick Sprinkle Stars Tin $19.99 for 2 oz.
I stopped by Wing Hop Fung to restock on loose leaf teas; it's generally best to buy around November - December because they offer discounts (usually 10% - 30%) for VIP members; this visit was 20% with a random 30% & 40% on select flavors. I typically purchase a half dozen, but this time I went double digits because my son wanted to try a couple.
I left a couple of bags over the summer while visiting my MIL, so I needed to restock. Judy was handling the counter & brewed samples of High Mountain Tie Guan Yin (aka goddess tea), which had a nice roasted & sweet tang. I also tried the Rose Black Tea, which had a fragrant floral taste.
I picked a few of my usual & tried a couple of new blossoming teas: Dancing Butterfly & Delightful Bouquet (my fav Peach Fairy is no longer stocked), & mostly green teas with an oolong & white tea. Most of my picks are in the mid-range, & usually purchase between 1/4 - 1/2 oz., with the occasional 1 lb. of my favorite of the day. My fav oolong, Phoenix Yellow Stone Oolong (天仙獻福工藝茶) wasn't in stock; I love the mellow & smooth taste with strong honey aroma. These tea trees in Guangdong have been there since the Song Dynasty & were once only reserved for royalty, so this tea is still rare due to its limited production. I'm not sure if this is also discontinued but I haven't seen it on my last 2 visits. \(`0´)/
It was nice chatting Judy, giving me an opportunity to practice my Cantonese (廣州話), but customers kept interrupting my order so it took longer than necessary with just 1 person behind the counter, & the fact that I usually sample 1 - 2 teas & sniff the teas before buying. No tea comps from 阿姨 for this large purchase. If M wasn't with me, I might have asked to sample a couple more teas. ;-) There’s a stack of aged pu-erh teas that are almost a decade old, ranging from $99.99 - $2,399.99/lb. (top to bottom). Wowza!
I also stocked up some snacks & found a cute kitty mug for my niece; she's been newly inducted to drinking loose leaf teas so I'm sharing my load as part of her Christmas gift. I need to find her a clear teapot for the blossoming teas. I wanted to pick-up guilinggao (龟苓膏) & bird's nest (燕窩), but didn't see any & already overstayed because the l'il guy was getting impatient so I skipped it/didn't ask about them.
I'm sad that they're no longer in Chinatown; they currently only have 2 locations: Monterey Park & Arcadia (The Shops at Santa Anita). Still not a frequent patron but a loyal one, I always look forward to restocking my tea supplies here & practicing my Cantonese.
Recommended: Loose teas (listed above), Bird Pick Glorious Paradise, Bird Pick Sprinkle Stars.”

“The drinks are a little on the sweet side, but from what I've had so far, you can tell they really use tea. Also their matcha is superb, both their lattes and the hojicha drinks. The tapioca pearls are also just right in chewiness. The fruit teas are ok; I taste the tea base but the fruit can sometimes taste pretty artificial. Overall, very solid drinks and I go back when I'm in the area. I always recommend The Tea to friends.”
“I just came across this place by chance and got interested in ‘rice noodles’ and never had any dish from Guilin before. I was pleasantly surprised to find a gems of cuisine! The owners are super-friendly and especially generous condiment booth much more so than any restaurants I’d seen. Plus the price is super economical. Because of such pleasant personalities and exceptional services of the owner couple, it makes the ambiance so unique and very cozy to dine in. Not to mention the taste of the dish is great! I love the chewy round rice noodles that seems to be hand-made. It reminds me of simple noodles made laboriously I encountered in a remote village in Laos where they called it ‘Khao Pun’ made fro slightly fermented rice that was pounded, steam and pounded again so the texture is soft but chewy. It came in delicious meat sauce. I got pork belly and beef ribs. I was surprised that beef ribs were debone making it very pleasant to eat. This place is a rare find and I’ll be back to try other dishes again”
“Walked in and ordered at the counter! We sat ourselves. They will bring the food out to your table.
All pizzas come with ONE topping and any additional are what the prices are shown in the menu. Their pizza is pretty thick! It’s not thin crust but still very tasty! Their breading is soft and not chewy/doughy so that’s a plus!
We got the 16” - sausage - pizza - a tiny bit of spice on the pizza! They gave plates + cheese/chili pepper on the side. We could’ve gone a size down! We ate half the pizza only!
Parking: it was easy since I came around 11:30 on a weekday.
Seating: 2 big tables and a few small tables. A lot of take outs!
price: it’s on the higher end but I would come back as it was filling and delicious!”
“Very good Banh Mi. Ingredients and bread taste very fresh and portions are generous. As people have noted, the service is a bit on the slow side for made to order items but is definitely deserving of the five star review despite this (this restaurant is way over an aggragate 4.3 rating). Having lived in Paris the texture and consistency of the bread is on par but there is the extra 9/10 that is missing in the flavor that is present in baked items from France. A place I certainly recommend!”
“Surprisingly bountiful and delicious.
The style is from Lanzhou, China. Particularly in the Gansu Province, where once the Silk Road ran along the only major city through which the Yellow River runs. Traditional hand-pulled noodles with a variety of offerings and flavors. A favorite is their house special, Beef Noodle. This differs from other Chinese variations with a clear type of broth and choice of spice levels offered here. There is also a focus on Halal meats.
Lamb is also a regional favorite; if you choose this, you should be pleasantly surprised.
There are also a number of side dishes of vegetables, Beef Rolls, and a most lovely order of steamed dumplings.
The service is good with their limited staff at times. There are many take-away orders, which is often a sign that there are more customers who appear. Parking is plentiful in this shopping plaza, making this a great choice to catch a movie and a nice meal.”
“Amazing Xinjiang barbecue! Juicy skewers, rich flavor and great portion sizes. The lamb skewers, chicken feet, cold noodles and guobaorou are a must-try. Casual vibe, and reasonable prices. Awesome spot for casual dinner and night bites.”

“I work across the street so i often go to canes during my lunch break, this canes always has very fast service and quality sweet tea which is my favorite. I'd like to point out that Mariah at the front is always very quick and kind as well as listen to my personal request for my meals. Shannon who i believe is in a managerial position is also always so kind and greets everyone with a smile. They both help with the atmosphere of eating at canes. Great crew overall definitely worth coming by and if there is anything ever wrong with your meal just let them know they will HELP!”

“First time using the drive-thru at this location, and I just have to shoutout Erwin! He handled my somewhat complicated order with a great attitude. He was attentive, respectful and genuinely friendly the whole time. Service like this is rare these days (and I say that as someone who works in CX in the corporate world). He absolutely deserves a raise or promotion, and all the recognition.”

“Excellent Americano and a very nice spacious place. Love the ambience of this coffee shop, and love that they have a Slayer espresso machine, too!
You can tell it's different Americano because of the more modern, foward-tasting notes that's more typical of Slayer. Slightly more woodsy, and layered than your heavier, rounded espresso drinks from a La Marzocco.
The ham and cheese croissant is light, crispy, and very delicious. It's a great case of less is more when you don't need a heavy sandwich but expect delicious clean flavor.
I ended up buying their Espresso Blend, and I can't wait to try it on my Profitec Go espresso machine at home.”
“This restaurant has good foods at reasonable prices. They have many choices on the menu. They serve big portions of foods. We ordered broccoli beef and walnut shrimps which come with a big bowl of pork meat/bones with vegetables soup and a big bowl of steam rice for daily lunch specials.
Waitresses also gave us attentive services.
We will come back for good foods and good services.”
“Just discovered this place in Monterey Park.
Really clean and minimalist interior.
They were playing great music at just the right volume, not so loud that you can't have a conversation.
(Jazz, Amy Winehouse, etc.) There were a few people there studying.
A great selection of specialty coffee drinks, also offers oat and almond milk as alternatives. They had a fantastic variety of pastries (some Asian inspired) and breakfast items.
I couldn't resist their Black Sesame/Mochi cookie and Hojicha cheesecake.
The staff is down to earth and approachable.
Can't wait to try them again!”
“The staff is so friendly! I asked to try the flavors of the ice cream they have and she was so attentive. The atmosphere is great as it feels cozy and great for quiet activities like reading or writing your last minute essays. Very kid friendly too since they have a variety of desserts. Their Matcha is good, not too bitter not too sweet, hesitate like how it should be(not overpoweringly sweet). I personally love their milk/vanilla original soft serve tho, since I’m a huge fan of vanilla soft serve and very picky about it.”
“I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was fresh and flavorful, it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were high quality, and everything tasted clean and well-prepared.
The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was fast even during busy hours. The restaurant was also very clean and well organized, which made the whole dining experience even better.
I would definitely come back again and recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty and enjoyable meal!”
“My go to spot for skewers. Fresh meat every time and the best tasting skewers in the area. I notice people complain about service but I personally love the laid back scene of skewer restaurants where you scan to order. Lady is very nice & servers are solid. Their dishes are very flavorful.
** update ** Almost a year later and this is still the best skewer restaurant in LA in terms of flavor of meat and quality of meat. I see a lot of negative reviews but I just don’t know how they’re saying the food isn’t palatable etc.”
