“We had a wonderful family birthday dinner at Duck House! The 3-course Beijing duck was absolutely fantastic, and the combination fried rice and crab soup were delicious too.

Thanks to Catherine and the friendly, attentive staff. The inside dining area had such a warm and cozy atmosphere, which made our celebration even more special.

“Really good spot for takeout pho. The broth was super flavorful and still hot when I got home, which I really appreciated. Everything was packed neatly and the portions were actually pretty generous for the price.

I got the pho to-go and the ingredients all tasted fresh, especially the herbs and bean sprouts. Service was quick and easy too. Definitely one of those places I’d come back to whenever I want something warm and comforting after a long day 🍜“

“It was my first time coming here yesterday 9/19/26. I had the combo plate with teriyaki chicken and short ribs. Those where one of the most delicious short ribs I've ever had. They had a lot of meat, and they where very flavorful. The chicken was also delicious, and the mac salad that comes with it. I really enjoyed it.“

“Pastry was dry, but the curry filling was yummy with a touch of spicy. Fan Tuan (purple rice) was amazing, total hit with the husband and kiddos. My husband doesn't care for pickled veggies, but he stated it actually works really well in the roll with all the other ingredients. My kids call it Chinese kimbap and it was an amazing, easy, quick and clean lunch for the kiddos at the airport. Definitely coming back to try other items on their menu. Front lady was nice and made funny jokes and smart remarks. Lol“

“If you’re looking for authentic China Tianjin-style Chinese food in Los Angeles, this place is an absolute gem.

Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and tasted just like the breakfast and street food you would find in Tianjin. The pork and green onion steamed buns were outstanding—soft, fluffy dough with juicy, flavorful filling. At $13 for 8 large buns, the value is amazing.

The savory tofu pudding (doufunao) was rich and comforting, the jianbing (Chinese crepe) was made fresh with the perfect crispy texture, and the red bean pastry was delicious without being overly sweet. We also tried the beef tendon dish, which was tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor.

What impressed me most was how authentic everything tasted. Nothing felt watered down or overly Americanized. Every dish reminded me of the flavors I grew up with in northern China.

Before driving back to the Bay Area, we even bought fresh pork & green onion buns, chive buns, and seafood buns to take home because they were just that good.

Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Tianjin style cuisine. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Los Angeles!

“I don’t usually stay for dine-in. I always ask my husband to pick up orders for us. We call it grandma’s restaurant— just because we’ve been eating their food ever since my 5-year-old was born.
We store their frozen dumplings in our fridge instead of buying brand name at the Asian grocery.

“They were not joking when they called this comfort food. I was sick, and it was raining, so I wanted something warm and hearty. This place seemed like the obvious choice, and far exceeded my expectations. Food came out fast and blistering hot, but still perfect temperature to eat right away. It was somehow nostalgic, even though it was my first time trying this dish. The tofu was extremely soft, but held its shape well, and very flavorful from absorbing the liquid. It really felt like it cured by illness.

Portion size was also very generous, which is always important. The menu was also pretty varied, I could imagine coming back multiple times and trying something new each time.“

The music is a little loud on a Wednesday night but the music selection was a vibe. No wait for a party of 2. They won't seat you until the whole party is there btw. Abdy, our server, was so sweet & accommodating. Only reason I gave the food a 4/5 is because I the portion was really small for the price. I will say I thought the salmon bowl was going to be grilled but it was a poke bowl (and that's on me) but Abdy offered to replace it with something else (so sweet 🥺) but I still wanted to try it so I kept it! A tasty, modest menu, that has some Mexican and Hawaiian flavors. We went for breakfast and ordered the Rice Plates: Spam or Portuguese Sausage, Standard Breakfast Burrito, and Make-Your-Own omelette. Solid and filling food. BUT, the most alluring part is the family-owned business. A true, local find owned by a daughter with her mother working and helping out. A small but hard-working staff from the cook to the back kitchen. So friendly, warm and kind. A place to visit and support for all Monterey Park residents.“

“My mentor (aka former work mom) lives in this area and takes me to these lovely little neighborhood restaurants. Sadly, many have low reviews which I just cannot understand. My mentor is a fantastic cook so she is really picky about eating out.

The squid noodles - simple yet delicious. One of the best stir fried noodles I have ever had. The wok flavor was strong and you can tell the chef knows what he is doing. The squid is cooked just right. Laksa was really good though this is not one of mg favorite dishes to begin with. The lemongrass chicken chop was outstanding. I have no idea how he got so much flavor and kept the chicken juicy but slightly crisp on the outside. The red bean was also excellent!

The service was very good though that doesn't matter to me. The chef has been cooking for decades and it shows. I will definitely be back to try more dishes.“

“This is a family owned small restaurant. Don’t be fooled by their business name: “bread food”. They don’t bake any bread. They serve house made noodles, dumplings, and a variety of meat filled streamed buns. They also sell frozen dumplings and plain buns (mantau).

They close at 8pm, be there before 7:15 pm or the chef will come out and show his attitude. The young waitress is polite.

The house made noodles are fresh and dente. Very food. The dumplings come with dip sauce made out with fresh ground garlic, very spicy. Will return and try other items.“
