“We hadn't heard about the golden Skwer before we were looking for a banquet hall for my mom 60th birthday. Reached out and promptly received a call from Carla she was great with giving all the information of everything that is included with booking with them, right off the bat I loved speaking with her she was super friendly even with just speaking over the phone and very nice and friendly when we met to confirm details. everyone in her staff was very friendly. Banquet hall is beautiful in itself, food was amazing we had so many people compliment on how good the food is(mind we we hadn't tried till day of event) we booked because of Carla

“I met up with a colleague here for a business meeting and the food was delicious. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and it was a unique, surprising and delicious take on a vegetarian burrito. It had beans, rice, potatoes and squash. My buddy ordered the chilaquiles and found them to be quite delicious.
I highly recommend this place. They do get a lunch rush; so I'd suggest planning your visit around that.“

“I had an hour in between appointments in Montebello, really surprised to stumble at this mom & pop Mexican restaurant. It had four 4-person tables inside and an authentic vibe for locals. I ordered a Special Plate for 2 fish soft tacos that was served with rice & bean and a small drink for $10. I didn't think much of it at first, the portion was big. It was so delicious that ate the whole thing. I loved everything about this restaurant, definitely will come back again with my family.“

“I love the Egg Rolls!! I've been looking everywhere for these egg rolls since I was a kid. There was a restaurant in Alhambra called Nams, it was my Grandma & Grandpa's favorite Chinese restaurant. My wife got the Mushroom Chicked delicious!“

“Buffets are generally not my go to place, but I was impressed. Good variety of salad items, main dishes desserts and everything was flavorful. Arrived at 5pm on Saturday but wait time was less than 10 minutes for our group of 10 even though the place was packed. Restroom was reasonably clean considering the amount of people. Overall I was not disappointed.“

I'm thankfull I got to meet that lady during my short trip in LA. Such a breath of fresh air and a lovely experience.
She is patient and welcoming and the food is great ! I mean, just enter the shop and you'll know you'll be eating good tonight.
The portions are huge for the price too. We did 1 serving for both me and my sister, it was perfect. ▶️ 15$ ! That's it !

Soup: Egg Flower
Noodles: Chicken Lo Mein
Mains: Cashew Chicken and Broccoli Beef (honestly I told my husband that the Broccoli beef could be swapped for whatever he wants because he likes fried food so this will be swapped from time to time)
Side: Garlic Green Beans (these are the absolute most DELICIOUS green beans I have ever eaten)

The soup gets refills.
The food is freshly made and so yummy.
This is not fast food it's cooked family style and with flavor.

“Finally got to try this place after driving by for years, and wow, truly a hidden gem. The owner recommended the gyro, and it was delicious. Everyone was so welcoming and kind, and I honestly felt like I was at my grandparents' home having brunch. Great food and amazing service all around! Definitely bringing my family back soon!“

“Located at the edge of the plaza. Very cozy atmosphere. Love the shelf aesthetic in the back and the aquarium up front. I had the modern Thai fried rice and the supreme pad Thai. Both were delicious and packed with flavor. I've also had the 3-flavor fish in the past and would highly recommend that as well! Staff were great and attentive as well.“

“Honestly the food is delicious they need a couple more selections but it was a friendly environment that got busy for diner. I’d def come back and try the kung poa when it seems hot and fresh, you can tell the food was sitting for a bit but thankfully we got fresh orange chicken and teriyaki the white rice was ok so were the noodles and fried rice not so greasy ! Other than that this place is not to bad.“

“If you plan on wanting to eat at home, definitely order ahead..Wait for Pupusas is usually about 20 minutes. The people there are very nice, they have reasonable prices, and I feel like they are consistent with the quality of their food( at least for the last 5 years that I've been going).. my go tos are usually Pupusas de queso con jalapeño and bean and cheese, oh and the loroco ones. Plus an order of yucca frita with chicharron.“

“This place has been here for years. Had the breakfast burrito with chorizo and potato. Gives you home style burrito vibes. Not too big, but filling for the size. Tried out both green and red salsas. Both were good, but I'd choose the red over green in my opinion. They have a small outdoor sit down area, but might a bit noisy for some people as it is right off the main business street.“

“Cancela Bakery is one of the most popular bakery restaurants in Montebello. Owned and operated by a Latina! Que orgullo. This is my go-to restaurant where I get my 🌄 cafecito, it's always fresh and hot. I feel welcomed every visit even after years of patronage. The local community supports this small business, and so should the tourists who visit the Montebello surrounding areas. You will not be disappointed.“

“If you come to Sergio’s, you HAVE to get a wet burrito. They’re super delicious. Now I will say the cook who’s at the grill tends to matter a lot. Sometimes they have some of the younger crew running the grills and the food just doesn’t have that consistent quality. However, for the most part their wet burritos and Sopes overall are the hitters at Sergio’s. They’re so good. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and I’ll keep coming back. If you’ve tasted Sergio’s on Garfield and Olympic it does not even compare, the Vail location wet burritos are a must try.“

The lady at the cashier was very friendly, she spoke English and Spanish. Our order was out not even 5 minutes and we were eating. My husband ate the heart attack Burger and half and half fries & onion rings,xl of them and let me tell you for the price it was worth it, he ate but it was so big he left a small portion of it. “Wing Wednesday is the best promo ever, I wish you had Dr pepper. The chefs making our food, always grateful for them ensuring they are extra crispy as I like! I've never in my 15 years coming to this place had much issues at all. There's parking in the back don't take the main street even if the Google maps or Apple maps tells you to. There's literally never parking on the main Street. This is my favorite #1 restaurant. Also shout out to the owner for bringing back the the decor of the mobster posters and the old newspapers, I was really sad a couple years ago when the decor was taken away during the rebranding but I'm happy to see that Alondras/Awesom Wings are coming back to their roots. 10/10.“

“Got 7 tacos, and a Gordita. Asada was ok, pollo was better, pastor was ok, cabeza and tripa were SO GOOD. Fish taco is $3.99, shrimp $4.99 and both the same size as a regular taco. I was a little concerned but after trying both, they’re worth every penny. The fish and shrimp tacos here were honestly the best, freshest fish and shrimp tacos I’ve had in a while. Can’t wait to come back for the mulita and torta“

“I recently dined at this sushi restaurant, and it was much more delicious than I expected

-Sushi:
We ordered yellowtail, albacore, and salmon sushi and they were unbelievably fresh, with each bite melting like butter. The quality of the fish was outstanding, and my boyfriend especially loved their salmon.

-Calamari Tempura:
It was crispy, and cooked to perfection. It came with a refreshing salad, and the house-made dressing added a burst of flavor that tied it all together.

- Baked Lobster Roll:One of my favorites! It was perfectly balanced and full of rich, satisfying flavors.
- Aloha Roll:A must try!, with just the right amount of spiciness, making each bite extra enjoyable.
- Salmon Roll:This roll was also incredibly fresh, with every bite bursting with flavor. I couldn’t recall the exact name because I was too busy savoring every mouthful!
- Monster Roll:It was packed with bold flavors and had the perfect harmony—absolutely delicious.

Service:
- Our server was kind and friendly, making the experience even better. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews about their service—we had a great time and felt well taken care of.“
