“Miss the old Portos. They had way more options including my Coconut macarons which they no longer have. Also with how busy it gets it's so crowded and overwhelming inside. Everything was still good but miss the extended baked goods. And parking is still bad... Waiting for my coffee they kept having us move when it's so crowded with customers and noehere to move to was a joke.“

“I've been going to Pieloon for a few years now and it is THE BEST restaurant in Downey! The food is always fabulous, the portions are large, the service is perfect! I've had appetizers, salads, pastas, steaks, burgers, sandwiches (I'm addicted to the BLT) and many of their specials. My family and I go now 2x a week and have trouble deciding what to get because it's all so good! And the pies...their pumpkin pie is the best I've ever had and the blueberry cheesecake is fabulous...but just wait until fresh peach pie season...I'll gain weight just thinking about it...the fresh peach is the best pie I've ever, EVER had! I love this place and the people who work there!! They're like family now!“

“Great ambiance and amazing food. I had a lot of food… falafel, spicy hummus, kafta kabob, tzatziki loaded with veggies, cheese balls, and baklava. All so delicious and fresh. I even loved the fresh pita and dipping sauce that was complimentary. From the manager and many servers, everyone was pleasant and friendly throughout my time there. I went during happy hour so the specials were great during that time. I’m definitely returning to this Mediterranean restaurant for sure. I loved it.“

The food is consistently amazing rich in flavor, homemade, and prepared with genuine care and tradition. Despite what may appear online, the restaurant is NOT permanently closed, they are OPEN and actively serving customers. Please don’t let that misinformation stop you from visiting. Every dish I’ve tried has been excellent, but the tamales are truly unforgettable, hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. “I’ve reviewed restaurants all over the country, and Maria’s Bar & Grill is the kind of little spot I love finding. It’s tucked away in the back, almost like a hideaway, with plenty of parking once you find it.

The food is authentic and tastes just like Abuelas. The staff is awesome, and the prices are so good I had to look twice. They run specials too, including Dodger game deals like two bacon dogs and a beer, or wings and a beer.
They Definitely support our military and ask those who've served.

“Worst Alfredo Sauce ever! Extremely disappointed. I'm not sure what happened to them, but I'm guessing they ran out. And someone tried to put some together quickly with milk and water. Because that's exactly what it tasted like. And so expensive too. Huge let down....“

“It was such a pleasant experience visiting this sushi bar! The sushi was delicious, and my personal favorite is the Philadelphia roll. They have a huge variety of sushi, so I think there is something for everyone.
The boba tea was also really tasty, and they have a great selection of beer and appetizers. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

“The atmosphere is amazing. The front of the restaurant looks like an old timey diner that has been very well maintained but not remodeled (which is a good thing). In the back is a bar which is quite intimate and a nice place to have a late breakfast on a Sunday morning.“

I was a little worried at first because they took a little long but wow when my plate got to me it was piping hot. Portion were big and food was delicious. Definitely surprised on how good it was. “Literally one of my fave BJS to ever go to. My husband, me, his brother, and mom went and the service was amazing. For it being packed, we had a very committed waitress. Our waitress Marisol was phenomenal. She kept checking up on us and was really efficient. The only negative star is an asian men on the bar I think the owner that has a bad attitude when he put beverages on your table he throw the straws and a the time you pay he look in front of you how much is your tip if you dont put any tip he gets mad. First time having Peruvian food and it did not disappoint! Cute, clean atmosphere - the owner was nice enough to chat with us and introduce us to some menu items.

Highly recommend the Ceviche Mixto to start, and the Lomo Saltado to share all around. We also got the Tallarín Verde con Pechuga which was a cleaner dish. I recommend the Maracuya (passion fruit) drink.

For dessert, I loved the Lucuma fruit based ice cream which kinda had a light but sweet maple-butterscotch flavor.

“This place is super underrated! I was stopping through for a late night bite and received A DELIGHT!!!

I stopped through on my way home from San Diego. My pizza was made within 10 minutes of ordering. I ordered 2 short rib empanadas as well. Everything was so flavorful! I think this place should ALWAYS have a line! I hope that with this review, that changes.

They're open late (3 am) on the weekend which, again, is amazing!“
