“I’ve reviewed restaurants all over the country, and Maria’s Bar & Grill is the kind of little spot I love finding. It’s tucked away in the back, almost like a hideaway, with plenty of parking once you find it.

The food is authentic and tastes just like Abuelas. The staff is awesome, and the prices are so good I had to look twice. They run specials too, including Dodger game deals like two bacon dogs and a beer, or wings and a beer.
They Definitely support our military and ask those who've served.

“I’ve been coming to this authentic Mexican mom-and-pop restaurant for over 10 years, and it has never disappointed me. The food is consistently amazing rich in flavor, homemade, and prepared with genuine care and tradition. Despite what may appear online, the restaurant is NOT permanently closed, they are OPEN and actively serving customers. Please don’t let that misinformation stop you from visiting. Every dish I’ve tried has been excellent, but the tamales are truly unforgettable, hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. This place is a true hidden gem that deserves recognition and continued support.“

This place is Grrrrrrreaaat!!
Passed by on a Monday and they had a Shrimp Taco DEAL 1.75. Shrimos are fried, they were Tried and Verified, Tasty, Crispy on the outside soft /firm Fresh on the inside. If you looking for tiny tacos with no flavor then dont come here.
I ran the numbers, you can get 9 tacos for under $20.
Also was 2x1 shrimp cocktail Mexican style 17.50
Taco Tuesday special is $8 for 3, looks like fresh shrimp not fried, hard shell tacos.
Place was clean and cool, small on the outside and big on the inside.“

“The food was exceptional for what I call sit- down fast food. I had never eaten there before so I loved the shrimp tacos and chicken taquitos with quest sauce drizzled on top. Just the right amount too!
The inside of this location was in desperate need of sweeping and clean tables (I had to request a towel to do it myself before the staff member wiped the table).
I will go back again one day soon as the food is starting me to return.
In returning to this particular location in Downey, I hope the person whose job it is to sweep and clean tables is doing a better job.

Today went to eat brunch across street from yolis but line was too long. leaving driveway we saw Yoli's and decided to eat there. We were a table of 4, coming in right after the soccer game ended - so there was no wait. We sat on the patio because it was loud (and fun) inside. The taquitos and tacos are yummy. Big fridge you can get whatever drink you like with bottle opener against the wall. Tacos Dorado de papa were amazing, they added carne on top and what a great taste. I've been enjoying their food for years from a their location off of 54th Street and Central where they sell Excellent Tendon Tacos. Now, they have this Brick and Mortar location.
I had the Birria Ramen and a Tendon Taco. Everything was delicious! Will be back again.“
