“Prince Dumpling really impressed me. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out fast and fresh. The standout for me was the sky‑high beef cubes—perfectly seasoned, tender, and easily my favorite dish of the night.
The whole experience felt smooth and enjoyable, and I’d definitely come back to try more of the menu. One tip for anyone visiting: wear long sleeves. The AC runs cold, so you’ll enjoy the meal a lot more if you’re not freezing.
Overall, great food, great service, and a spot worth returning to.“

“If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!
Vegetarian options: Just get he vegetarian banh mi! Only vegetarian thing to get or just plain baguettes! It will be worth it!“

“The banh xeo is top notch here. Both the shrimp and fish ones are great! It's so crispy and comes with lots of fresh veggies. Its even crispy and perfect when I get take out! A little pricey but it's a good portion. There is a $1 credit card fee so bring cash. I love this place so much, if only they opened for dinner!“

“If you're looking for a true authentic Peking duck in LA, Ji Rong in Rosemead is easily one of the best spots around. I came here with a group of friends ( 6 People) and the vibe is super casual, unpretentious, and perfect for a family dinner or a big feast with friends.
The Peking duck itself is incredible. The skin is shatteringly crispy and perfectly rendered so it isn’t greasy at all, and the meat stays seriously juicy. Wrapping it up in those thin, translucent pancakes with the fresh cucumbers, scallions, and that rich sweet bean sauce is easily the highlight of the night. Reminder to definitely pay the a little extra to have them turn the rest of the duck skeleton into the duck bone soup at the end. It's incredibly comforting and satisfying and it’s something you definitely want to try.
Aside from the duck, we ordered a few other dishes on the menu to share. The hand-grabbed pancake is a must-order—it's super flaky, layered, and delicious. We also tried their cold noodles with the sesame mustard sauce, which was a really refreshing contrast to the rich duck.
The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to the logistics. This isn't a place where you can just walk in on a whim and order a duck. Because of the traditional prep work, you absolutely have to call ahead to reserve your duck. (ideally a day in advance). We called two days in advance and it was prepared and reserved for us. Also, if you go during peak weekend hours, the service can get a bit frantic and chaotic because the place gets packed. But if you plan ahead, the food is completely worth the experience. The service was great. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The ambiance is not the most modern but like I mentioned, it’s a casual place for families or small groups to go and enjoy.“

“Very nice chinese restaurant at rosemad area. It seems pretty well known restaurant as it was very busy when we arrived. We were not purposely looking for this but found it when we search for restaurant near by.
The restaurant is not that large but has plenty tables. The interior was simple
There are plenty item on the menu and we ordered Spicy premium beef noodle soup, Tan Tan noodle, popcorn chicken, Xiao Long Bao and ice lemon tea. The order was prepared quickly and the food was ready pretty quick.
All the food are yummy. The spicy noodle soup was spicy but not was yummy. Popcorn chicken was good along with Tan Tan noodle and XLB.
The one that surprise me is the size of the ice lemon tea glass. it is the largest portion of ice lemon tea that I have seen at restaurants.
Price is reasonable and we left with some left over.
The staff and service was good and the staff was friendly.
Parking could be a challenge at this area.“

“Food is delicious and fragrant. Chili oil is authentic and actually has spice and taste, not that mild stuff other places have. The beef in the fried noodle dish is tender and delicious, the sauce is fragrant. Cats ear noodle did take a longer time to make, but it's all hand made. Can't complain.
My husband got the lamb organ soup and the broth is milky white. The soup is extremely clear tasting and not gamey. Hand pulled noodle texture is on point. Not too soft, chewy.
Speciality fried pork was great and had that authentic north west vinegar sauce and taste.
There was a super annoying customer last night and the staff handled the situation very well. My husband was annoyed for the staff. Props to the restaurant. 10/10.
If you're dining in for the first time:
-Staff does not speak English, do some research on Xian cuisine and checkout their menu beforehand so you understand what dishes to expect
-They accept cash
-Water is self service
-Staff is not intentionally being rude, there's a cultural difference between Chinese and western dining service
-They don't bring utensils out because they're already at your table
-If you have any type of food allergies or dietary restrictions it's up to YOU to figure it out and not the staff“

“I've gotten sushi here a few times via Doordash. The quality of the sushi rolls is good overall, but the portion has gotten very small. The vegetable tempura is subpar considering the price they charge. (The pumpkin is sliced so thin and the taro is cut like the size of a pinky!)“

“Pho Filet 2 is a solid Vietnamese spot in the San Gabriel Valley if you’re craving a comforting bowl of pho. The restaurant has a casual, no-frills atmosphere where locals come for quick and satisfying meals.
I ordered the Pho Dac Biet (special beef pho), and the broth was rich and aromatic. It came with a generous portion of noodles and different cuts of beef like brisket and tendon. The meat was tender, and the fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and lime really brought the whole bowl together.
I also tried the spring rolls with peanut sauce, which were fresh and light, making a great appetizer before the pho. The portions were big and the prices were very reasonable.
Service was fast and friendly, and the food came out quickly even when the restaurant was busy. Overall, Pho Filet 2 is a great casual spot for authentic Vietnamese comfort food.“

“Super delicious!
First time I've ever tried dry rice noodle - delicious! The dipping sauce that came with it had a hint of caramel- not too sweet. Try this!
Best part: Eating this with some fries and garlic wings with Peruvian green sauce.
Plus the staff was kind + warmhearted. Definitely give this place a shot.“

“This is a diner that apparently has been here for decades. A family owned restaurant for the local community. This place is the go to especially after playing golf at Whittier Narrows down the street.
My son loves this place, his go to is always the club sandwich fries included. My personal favorite is the patty melt with fries. For appetizers we love the onion rings. A heads up, if you order a large fries that's exactly what you get. Not the typical small serving but a mound of fries to share for the whole table.
It's a no frills local joint where they have regulars that always come in. These mom and pop places are what makes this country what it is, not the cookie cutter chain restaurants. Always support your local businesses.“

“In our special dinner for fresh graduated and friends, Sea Harbor Seafood restaurant presents authentic Cantonese/Hong Kong style dishes. I like their barbecue combo , walnut shrimp, steamed fish and Typhoon shelter style crab. I have been curious why called it Typhoon shelter? If anyone knows please let me know. Dessert is and always is red bean tangshui with tiny boba balls. I gave 4 Star rating on service and atmosphere. Service has no interaction, because in service industry , one can't assume patrons knows about Chinese food. Atmosphere is plain and the outside of the restaurant seemed have been unchanged for a long time. Need to get fengshui going! :)“

“This is a small independent shop that only does take out. Nothing fancy.
I came on a Sunday and the parking was packed. There are other shops and a supermarket as well. People do park and go rather quickly, though.
If you spend more than $20, you won't be charged a $1 fee. They only accept mastercard and visa; otherwise, pay cash.
Dim sum items are typically under $5. They sell other items/dishes for more and also specialty drinks.
I ordered $58 worth of dim sum and tried some in the car. I was happy with my order.
If you like cheap and decent dim sum, this place is it. Customers seem to love this place. There was a long line when I was here, and they kept refilling the food trays quickly.“

“This place is such a hole in the wall, would honestly come back. This place been around for a while but I never know this place exist because it’s so hidden. The service is a bit slow when prepping the food, but their tacos are to die for. I would come back any day for tacos!Parking lot is shared with other shops but not too busy! The menu is consistent and so is their food!Would come back again! Don’t let the small shop and sketchy look deceive you!“

“I came during a time when they weren't busy. They tended to me immediately and the order came out fairly quick. I am a big Vietnamese guy and have high expectations usually for pho and in my opinion the chicken pho was fair. However what is crazy is that thr large size is huge. It can feed potentially 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child.“
“the best food I've had in LA is also the cheapest. thank goodness for this lovely couple. They have made-to-order plates and choose-your-items buffet. Probably the most amount of food you'd ever get for the price (buffet). I feel like I'm getting closer to Taiwan! :)
pork (belly?) and curry chicken were amazing!
if this kind of place doesn't exist in San Jose / south SF Bay / Santa Cruz, then I'm not going!“

“The restaurant has some pretty authentic Chinese food and style. We had a big room with 20+ people, and they accommodated well. The mushroom dishes were incredible, but the sweat bean soup was not as well received, as it tasted kind of watery and sugary.“
“Beef Chow Fun ($11) + $4 extra beef. Thats enough food for 2 hearty meals. Add a little chili oil and 🔥🔥🔥
Even without the extra beef, it's still two meals. Just have to ration the beef.
Best cheap eats when they have it. Hours and availability are weird. Mainly a breakfast lunch place. I've been before and they ran out of noodles.“

“The noodles were of nice quality. My friend got the normal firmness and thought they were a little too soft, and I got the firm noodles and thought they were perfect. The broth had a nice, rich taste though nothing mind blowing. The pork slices were good although they were only 2 slices and thin. The ramen itself is great, just wish there was more pork for the given meal.
The appetizers were just okay. Pretty standard takoyaki and karaage with nothing mind-blowing, but still decent.
The severs were attentive, kind, friendly, and did a great job at creating anauthentic and welcoming atmosphere. Much praise to the staff.“

“I went for my first time Monday June 22. I was overwhelmed of visiting my usual spots. I had this place saved for a while from social media from a guy who made an amazing review on it. One of my favorite food content creators “ grubwithgreg” I saved this place & was eager to eventually visit. The time finally came. I ordered a XL Big E fries w/both & a Double Big E burger. Absolutely amazing. I was helped by cashier “ Chris” he gave me suggestions and told me which one was recommended so i went wit those two options I ordered. No complains. I was just a bit disappointed cause cashier said it had bacon but it didn’t unfortunately. I definitely would get it again just with less teriyaki sauce on my burger besides that. No complains. Plenty of parking, they had multiple TVs to share the FIFA World Cup experience while we wait for our order. This place deserves recognition ! Wish this place nothing but success!“

“I have ate here twice. First time was dine in. The server Angel was horrible. The first thing we ordered of course were drinks. I ordered a water with lemon and it came after the meal. The pancakes were ice cold and the plates were the exact same size as the pancakes. My husbands order was wrong. He ordered toast as a side and hit potatoes. Then tonight we got good delivered and it was also horrible. The eggs were rubbery and my husband was supposed to get tres leches pancakes and he got regular pancakes. I was supposed to get salsa and sour cream with my tacos and didn’t get it. There was no cheese sauce on my tacos either.“

“Really enjoyed the food here. The egg rolls were excellent—crispy, well-fried, and not greasy or dry. They also came with a generous amount of fresh vegetables, which made for a great balance.
The com tam rice was very good and had great flavor. Overall, the food quality was solid and I'd definitely come back for it.
The only area that could use some improvement is the checkout process. Service was fine during the meal, but it took longer than expected when it was time to pay and leave.“

“I have been coming here since 1987, through the years the food has been consistently good. The menu is simple and reflects the more relaxed and less complicated hey days. You are not going to find brioche buns, foie gras, truffles oil, etc…what you will find is classic American diner taste. My favorites here are the fried chicken dinner plate, chili cheese fries with onions, their char grilled bacon cheeseburger is always excellent and their steak sandwich. I like to add 2 fried eggs to my steak sandwich. The facility is old, feels old and looks old. But, the tables are clean and not sticky. Service with a smile and the staff are helpful.“

“We tried their special which is lobster veggie fried rice, but instead of using regular rice, they use sticky rice, most likely Japanese sticky rice. We also tried fried seafood with chili, but a little disappointed since it was not spicy at all. Had to ask for chili oil. Both tasted good. They were good size portion.
Service is satisfactory; servers were helpful, polite, and friendly.
The place is big and clean with nice decors including TV the size of my whole living room.“

“Hidden gem for classic French food in Rosemead 🇫🇷
La Vie Restaurant has been a family-owned mom-and-pop restaurant for over 30 years, and you can definitely feel the old-school charm the moment you walk in. The decor may not be modern or trendy, but the food is comforting, reasonably priced, and gives that nostalgic neighborhood French restaurant vibe.
One thing I really appreciated is that the main entrée comes with soup of the day, a simple salad, bread, and coffee — hard to find that kind of full-course experience nowadays.
We started with the escargot and it was honestly the highlight for me 🐌 The garlic butter and herbs were so flavorful, and dipping the warm bread into the sauce made it even better.
🥣 Le Potage du Jour – Split Pea Soup
🐌 Les Escargots de Bourgogne – Snails, Garlic Butter & Herbs
🦆 Le Canard au Grand Marnier – Roast Duckling with Orange Sauce
🐑 La Carré D’Agneau Bergerie – Roast Rack of Lamb with Garlic Crust
🥧 Soufflé au Grand Marnier
The lamb and duck were decent and nicely portioned, though next time I’d probably explore some of their other dishes. The Grand Marnier soufflé was a nice sweet finish to end the meal.
They also have their own parking lot, which is always a plus in this area. Just note they’re only open Thursday–Sunday after 5pm, and reservations are definitely recommended since seating is limited.“
