Ever since the Mandarin Noodle House in Monterey Park closed down, I’ve been searching for a decent beef noodle soup to scratch my itch and while I’ve found a few pretty good places in the SGV, Prince Dumpling has the beef noodle soup and so much more. Literally everything I’ve had on their menu is delicious. I can’t think of a single dish or appetizer I tried that didn’t blow me away. I’m so thankful I found this place and my family is too. When you find a restaurant you can tell really cares about their craft, you can immediately sense and taste it. This is one of those rare gems.“

Pan fried dumpling (sheng jian bao) - Surprisingly good! tasty, juicy inside with lots of broth.

Popcorn chicken - decent as well, generous portions with good meaty chunks

Wonton in red chilli oil - It was decent but I wish it had a little bit of vinegar to add some tang.

Soup dumpling/ Xiao long bao - This was okay, skin was a little thick but generous fillings with lots of soup

House noodle soup - Broth was very tasty and it was a comforting soup dish, but nothing to rave about.

Devil spicy beef noodle - Was expecting this to be super spicy, but honestly the spice level is just medium and it was more mala (numbing spice) than just regular spice.

Overall meal portions are reasonably generous. Will return again.“

“Pho Filet 2 is a solid Vietnamese spot in the San Gabriel Valley if you’re craving a comforting bowl of pho. The restaurant has a casual, no-frills atmosphere where locals come for quick and satisfying meals.

I ordered the Pho Dac Biet (special beef pho), and the broth was rich and aromatic. It came with a generous portion of noodles and different cuts of beef like brisket and tendon. The meat was tender, and the fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and lime really brought the whole bowl together.

I also tried the spring rolls with peanut sauce, which were fresh and light, making a great appetizer before the pho. The portions were big and the prices were very reasonable.

Service was fast and friendly, and the food came out quickly even when the restaurant was busy. Overall, Pho Filet 2 is a great casual spot for authentic Vietnamese comfort food.“

“If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!

Vegetarian options: Just get he vegetarian banh mi! Only vegetarian thing to get or just plain baguettes! It will be worth it!“

“First time visiting Summer Rolls and I love it! The nem nướng summer rolls with the crispy shrimp egg roll inside were outstanding, fresh herbs, tender meat, and that great dipping sauce. Service was attentive and friendly.
The only issue is limited parking (it can take a little searching during busy times), but everything else was excellent. Can’t wait to return!“

“I love to eat good food and La Vie didn't disappoint. We ordered French Onion soup, Escargot and Black Pepper pate to start, followed by the Chilean Sea Bass and Filet Mignon for our entrees. To top it off, we had the souffle and creme brulee for dessert. Everything tasted absolutely delicious and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The cost is very reasonable for their set menu which comes with soup, salad, entree and coffee or tea. I'll definitely be coming back to try the other items on their menu!“

“Food is delicious and fragrant. Chili oil is authentic and actually has spice and taste, not that mild stuff other places have. The beef in the fried noodle dish is tender and delicious, the sauce is fragrant. Cats ear noodle did take a longer time to make, but it's all hand made. Can't complain.

My husband got the lamb organ soup and the broth is milky white. The soup is extremely clear tasting and not gamey. Hand pulled noodle texture is on point. Not too soft, chewy.

Speciality fried pork was great and had that authentic north west vinegar sauce and taste.

There was a super annoying customer last night and the staff handled the situation very well. My husband was annoyed for the staff. Props to the restaurant. 10/10.

-Staff does not speak English, do some research on Xian cuisine and checkout their menu beforehand so you understand what dishes to expect
-They accept cash
-Water is self service
-Staff is not intentionally being rude, there's a cultural difference between Chinese and western dining service
-They don't bring utensils out because they're already at your table
-If you have any type of food allergies or dietary restrictions it's up to YOU to figure it out and not the staff“

“This is a diner that apparently has been here for decades. A family owned restaurant for the local community. This place is the go to especially after playing golf at Whittier Narrows down the street.

My son loves this place, his go to is always the club sandwich fries included. My personal favorite is the patty melt with fries. For appetizers we love the onion rings. A heads up, if you order a large fries that's exactly what you get. Not the typical small serving but a mound of fries to share for the whole table.

It's a no frills local joint where they have regulars that always come in. These mom and pop places are what makes this country what it is, not the cookie cutter chain restaurants. Always support your local businesses.“

“Great casual dining spot for family meals. We came with our two young kids and the team treated us wonderfully. They brought kid‑friendly meals out fast so the little ones would not get restless. Menu covers something for every age, from hearty main courses to tasty appetizers. All ingredients tasted fresh. The dining area is spotlessly clean, restrooms well‑maintained. Servers are patient and quick to refill drinks. Portions are big enough for leftovers. Prices are fair for family dining. Chutoro nigiri - Fresh, generous cut. Definitely a bit pricey but that’s to be expected of chutoro cut. It was so good we did 2 orders!
Tuna roll - Very good too, generous with tuna filling
Deluxe uni pasta - Wow, very creamy and uni-y. It does get very rich so recommend 2 people sharing. I was fully almost halfway into the dish because of how rich and creamy it was.

Service is pretty quick and ambiance can get pretty loud. We came on Friday night and there was a big party at a different table so it did get loud but thankfully we still got seated immediately. Will return again.“

“After coming to this spot with my partner, this spot has become one of my go to spots for to go type dim sum. They provide all the dim sum that you would find in regular dim sum restaurants including the signature dishes like shumai, har gow, cheung fun, chicken feet, etc.

Staff here is friendly and quick. Even though English is not some of the staffs languages, they do their best and understand pretty well.

The dim sum is as you expect from most places. Although this place is a bit cheaper than your usual sit down restaurant, food can differ at bit. I found that the chicken feet was a bit soggy and not fresh but it could be a anomaly from the order. The buns here are pretty sizeable and well made when it's fresh.

One thing to note is that there's a $1 extra charge for credit cards if your order is below $20.

Portions here are identical to your usual dim sum restaurants which is nice for a takeout spot. Super quick and convenient for a place that's to go and at a affordable price. This is the spot to visit if you want standard dim sum to go at an affordable price.“

Squab (young pigeon) was on special offer at $9.99 and recommended.
Poached chicken is above average.
Dough Dumpling in chicken soup is exclusive, good to fair.
Both eel hot pot rice and blanched goose intestines are limited by the fact that they are previously frozen, so are a shadow of what could have been. On their own they're good to very good.
Prices are very reasonable.
On the whole will return and firmly recommended.
Many dishes not available elsewhere, so it's an adventure.“

We got the dumpling noodle soup, which was pretty decent. The garlic stir-fry ong choy needed a bit more garlic and the Mongolian beef was okay. The meat quality was good but the flavor was average and felt like it needed a bit more heat. Portion size is decent and prices were fair. Great fast casual restaurant.“
