““Oh wow” the first words that I could come up with when my wife asked me how the food was.
We ordered: Japanese ceviche, Y-not roll, Salmon roll, California roll, yellowtail sushi and halibut sushi.
Everything was absolutely fantastic, fresh and full of flavor.
I highly recommend the yellowtail sushi if you want raw sushi
I recommend the y-not roll if you want a specialty roll, it is a little spicy so beware.
If you want to try something new we recommend the Japanese ceviche, it has the perfect mix of sweet and salty.
Overall you could tell the fish are fresh and not old mush, and even the plating of every dish was admirable.
The service is also fantastic, we were checked on regularly by our servers, had all of our questions answered and even got solid recommendations.
This place is definitely worth traveling for, decent prices too!“

“What a gem! Came here for dinner on Friday night and food is great!
Chutoro nigiri - Fresh, generous cut. Definitely a bit pricey but that’s to be expected of chutoro cut. It was so good we did 2 orders!
Tuna roll - Very good too, generous with tuna filling
Deluxe uni pasta - Wow, very creamy and uni-y. It does get very rich so recommend 2 people sharing. I was fully almost halfway into the dish because of how rich and creamy it was.

Service is pretty quick and ambiance can get pretty loud. We came on Friday night and there was a big party at a different table so it did get loud but thankfully we still got seated immediately. Will return again.“

“There is a variety of food options available for everyone from sushi rolls, pizza, chicken nuggets, Chinese, etc. Some food options were out for a while which tasted stale and lost flavor, but it was very few things compared to most of the available options.
The service was well as they had staff putting out food, clean utensils and serving refills for drinks.
The environment was pretty loud in some areas and the lighting is a bit dim, which can be improved on to feel welcoming or light up the dining area. Great price overall if you want to get all you can eat sushi along with other food options.“

“I came across this sushi bar by accident! I was trying to go eat Mexican food a couple doors down and they were closed. What a fabulous surprise. The sushi is super fresh. The rolls were interesting and totally delicious. I will definitely be back! I love that they have a back door also because it’s very convenient for the parking. “I recently tried Koki Ku Sushi, a newer Japanese restaurant in Duarte, and came away pleasantly surprised.

I stopped by for their lunch special and found the service attentive and welcoming throughout the meal. The 5-piece chef's choice premium nigiri was fresh and enjoyable, with each piece offering a nice variety of flavors.

I also ordered the Salmon Teriyaki with Spicy Tuna Roll combo. The teriyaki salmon was flavorful, although the slices were a bit thinner compared to what I've had at other sushi spots. The spicy tuna roll was generously portioned and filling enough to make for a satisfying lunch.

The restaurant itself has a clean, modern design and is conveniently located in the Target plaza, where parking is plentiful and easy. Overall, Koki Ku Sushi is a nice addition to the Duarte dining scene, and I'll be back to try more items from their menu.“

“Been here many times before, mostly weekdays during lunch hours, never knew they get so busy on weekends. But lines moved quickly, plenty of various prepared takeout sushis in the cold storage areas. Regular customers often recommend food items to try for newbies. Overall, a pleasant place for fresh sushis.“

“A Delightful Sushi Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The sushi was outstanding—fresh, expertly crafted, and beautifully presented. The chef’s special sashimi, were bursting with flavor. The nigiri was a standout, with perfectly seasoned rice and melt-in-your-mouth fish. Service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They even made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. One thing to note: Fillet doesn’t have a liquor license yet, so if you’re someone who enjoys pairing sushi with sake or wine, this might be a consideration. They said it’s coming soon, I can’t wait to come back here again.“

“Let me tell you ... It is not the typical sushi joint restaurant. It is something so cool if you are open for .. that special place that you know it's gonna be satisfying. Forget the sushi rules , in order to understand flavors taste and wonderful staff.. most beautiful people's taking care of each one of you. Now sushi chefs by far an experience worth to be enjoy.
Not to think is the traditional sushi .. is a experience that I will be back to enjoy ...

“WOW! This might be the best and most authentic sushi i’ve ever had in California. The sushi isn’t like anything you would have at your average sushi restaurant. This fish tastes so fresh. And don’t even get me started on the rice. The sushi rice they have is AMAZING. I could eat an entire bowl of it. If you don’t come at least once in your lifetime you’re missing out.“

“I got in pretty much as soon as they open, so I got the special opportunity to get to talk to Kristine. After a lovely conversation and delicious food, I left feeling so full and at peace. The tempura was crispy and airy, the rice was perfectly cooked, the fish in the sushi tasted fresh. I cannot recommend visiting here enough. I am sure it can get busy, as the place is small, but I think that is part of its charm: meeting with a group of strangers for a good meal and a moment of peace before heading back into the world.“

“Came here based on recommendations from our friends and it did not disappoint. We ordered the sushi boat for 2 which came with thick cuts of sashimi, deep fried soft shelled crab, shrimp and veggie tempura, fried chicken, and teriyaki (we got the beef and chicken mix). There was so much food it was probably enough to serve 4 people!

They offer miso soup and edamame for the table when you get seated. The restaurant itself is pretty small but we came for a late dinner on Fri and was seated immediately. Sashimi is very fresh and portions were generous. Our friends really recommend the chirashi bowl so that’s what we’re gonna get next time we’re back. What a hidden gem of a restaurant! :)“

“We came to this restaurant as it is open late and walking distance of the Hyatt place. It is a quaint small restaurant. Great service. Sushi is definitely above average - there are so many good sushi restaurants in LA so tough competition. But within old town Pasadena area, this place is a definite must. Delicious. Vert flavorful. And the best part about this spot is that it’s not in the crowed Dtla area. It’s on Cesar Chavez and with plenty of street meter parking. Very manageable. I will be back.“

Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. Yum yum 🤤 ended with Kumamoto Oyster 🦪 it was so sweet like cotton candy in your mouth made me wanting more which I did order more. “Really good spot for takeout pho. The broth was super flavorful and still hot when I got home, which I really appreciated. Everything was packed neatly and the portions were actually pretty generous for the price.

I got the pho to-go and the ingredients all tasted fresh, especially the herbs and bean sprouts. Service was quick and easy too. Definitely one of those places I’d come back to whenever I want something warm and comforting after a long day 🍜“
