“I’ve been to this restaurant twice now, and both visits were enjoyable. I tried the hot sake, the salmon and California roll bento set, and the teriyaki beef plate. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the dining experience even better. Overall, it’s a great spot for a satisfying meal and a relaxed atmosphere—I’ll definitely be coming back.“

“I've gotten sushi here a few times via Doordash. The quality of the sushi rolls is good overall, but the portion has gotten very small. The vegetable tempura is subpar considering the price they charge. (The pumpkin is sliced so thin and the taro is cut like the size of a pinky!)“

“They have great little snacks and food to go. They also make fresh stuff to go and seems they are popular for huge sushi platters and combos. I was here for new years and they had a lot of sushi platters for pick up. The sushi is good and fresh. They also have some really good spam musubi. A good assortment of Japanese/Asian foods, snacks and drinks.“

“There is a variety of food options available for everyone from sushi rolls, pizza, chicken nuggets, Chinese, etc. Some food options were out for a while which tasted stale and lost flavor, but it was very few things compared to most of the available options.
The service was well as they had staff putting out food, clean utensils and serving refills for drinks.
The environment was pretty loud in some areas and the lighting is a bit dim, which can be improved on to feel welcoming or light up the dining area. Great price overall if you want to get all you can eat sushi along with other food options.“

“Excellent place. We tried the crispy rice, rattle snake roll, and sunset roll. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. The service is great, and the restaurant has a nice dining area with large TVs. Lots of parking, which is always a plus.“

“I'm giving Oji a five star rating because I have been coming here for years--at least the past 6 years. Most of the time, the food is great! My recent visit--the crispy tuna appetizer was flavorless and a bit chewy in a less than fresh way. Although this was my first time at Oji in a while, I was surprised because normally the food is delicious! Service was good. I'll try again Oji!

“The sushi here was excellent. The rice in the two rolls had a hint of yuzu that really elevated the flavor. Yuzu can sometimes be overpowering, but the chef used it perfectly to enhance the overall taste. It really brought the entire roll together. I especially enjoyed the Crunchy Albacore Roll—the balance of flavors was spot on.
The chirashi bowl was also plentiful and a great value for the price. The fish was very fresh, but the standout part was the rice. I’ve honestly never had sushi rice quite like this before. In addition to the classic vinegary sushi rice flavor, there was a subtle hint of yuzu that added an extra layer of freshness. When paired with the fish, it made the whole experience feel even more elevated.
If you come between 5:00 and 6:30, they offer 15% off during happy hour, which makes the experience even better.

The nigiri was a standout, with perfectly seasoned rice and melt-in-your-mouth fish. Service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They even made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. One thing to note: Fillet doesn’t have a liquor license yet, so if you’re someone who enjoys pairing sushi with sake or wine, this might be a consideration. They said it’s coming soon, I can’t wait to come back here again.“

“Great food, portions are bonkers good. Food quality is top notch and well worth the price. Staff are super friendly as well. I got a combo plate and unlike other Japanese restaurants I actually got beef that was properly cooked. After seeing the portions of the sushi rolls I will try those out next time because they were giant. Will definitely return.“

I always wondered how real Japanese sushi would taste and I have a feeling this place is certainly close to that. I had recently watched a documentary on Netflix and how this one place in Japan you just trust the chef to serve you delicious 😋 sushi! Well this is place does the same and boy it doesn't disappoint. “Unsure initially but after reading reviews convince to visit and after ordering fully engulfed! I had the Red Dragon Roll, loved it! My son had the crunchy roll. And then I tried the beef bowl. Delicious. Vert flavorful. And the best part about this spot is that it’s not in the crowed Dtla area. It’s on Cesar Chavez and with plenty of street meter parking. Very manageable. I will be back.“

The Salvador Special Roll, featuring salmon and mango on top of a spicy tuna roll, is simple yet mucho delicioso. It’s been a while since I‘ve had it, but it was still tasty! 😋

Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. “So this was my first time doing Omakase. Wow what an experience. I will start off to say that the service was fantastic. They really take care of you . We ordered some sake and waited for the 6 course chef’s choice meal to start coming out. As you can see from the pictures the presentation was fantastic. All the fish had such good flavor and buttery goodness. Such amazing flavors. I for the life of me cannot remember anything that we got in particular but all I know is that it was delicious. I know I did try some stuff that I normally wouldn’t have but all tasted fantastic. Service was just top notch , they saw our sake cup was empty they would come over and refill for us. WOW! It’s a tiny place and started to fill up after they opened at 11:30am. We had reservations for 11:30am at the bar. Does seem to be a very popular spot definitely would go back and try some other stuff. Had a great time hanging with My close friend . Will be back.

“We came during Valentine’s Day and was pleasantly surprised with the experience - from delicious and quite good portion of food to attentiveness in service. Patricio was our server and he was very attentive, checking in on us right after the food were delivered.“

“Sashimi: Walk in and walk straight to the back if you’re looking for sashimi. Grab a ticket! They’ll call the number and then you’ll get to pick the sashimi you want. Wait till they cut it and come back when they call your number. About 5-10 minutes! Once your ticket number is called, grab the cut sashimi and you’re ready for checkout (front).

Rolls: If you’re looking for rolls, walk in to the left side (coolers). Theres a line sometimes so don’t cut in line if you see people wrapped around the corner for the rolls!

Interior: it’s packed with Japanese condiments/food/snacks! Price of these are higher but I do believe most of them come from Japan.

Price: it’s reasonable and fresh! Highly recommend if you have party to serve.

Condiments for your fish: they give soy sauce/ chopstick/ice if needed at the checkout. Wasabi is sold separately at the coolers if needed but wasabi is also included inside your sashimi cut containers.

Parking: in the back or street parking!“

No wait or line on a Tuesday night which meant we got great service as one of the few people in at that time. We tried the spicy tuna with crunchy rice, a yellowtail hand roll, salmon nigiri, and negitoro & scallion cut hand roll. Favorite was the negitoro hand roll, great quality and delicious, simple flavor. I wasn’t wow’ed by the yellowtail handroll and found the seaweed not very crunchy making each bite a little harder to chew. Fish quality was great though! Glad we got to try this smaller neighborhood joint.“
