“There is a variety of food options available for everyone from sushi rolls, pizza, chicken nuggets, Chinese, etc. Some food options were out for a while which tasted stale and lost flavor, but it was very few things compared to most of the available options.
The service was well as they had staff putting out food, clean utensils and serving refills for drinks.
The environment was pretty loud in some areas and the lighting is a bit dim, which can be improved on to feel welcoming or light up the dining area. Great price overall if you want to get all you can eat sushi along with other food options.“

We come for date nights , work lunches, birthdays and especially when it’s raining and you need some udon. Reasonably priced, quaint ambience and now that the in n out fixed their parking, it’s easier to get to.“

“I recently tried Koki Ku Sushi, a newer Japanese restaurant in Duarte, and came away pleasantly surprised.

I stopped by for their lunch special and found the service attentive and welcoming throughout the meal. The 5-piece chef's choice premium nigiri was fresh and enjoyable, with each piece offering a nice variety of flavors.

I also ordered the Salmon Teriyaki with Spicy Tuna Roll combo. The teriyaki salmon was flavorful, although the slices were a bit thinner compared to what I've had at other sushi spots. The spicy tuna roll was generously portioned and filling enough to make for a satisfying lunch.

The restaurant itself has a clean, modern design and is conveniently located in the Target plaza, where parking is plentiful and easy. Overall, Koki Ku Sushi is a nice addition to the Duarte dining scene, and I'll be back to try more items from their menu.“

The nigiri was a standout, with perfectly seasoned rice and melt-in-your-mouth fish. Service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They even made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. One thing to note: Fillet doesn’t have a liquor license yet, so if you’re someone who enjoys pairing sushi with sake or wine, this might be a consideration. “Service was good and friendly. So were the chefs. In my honest opinion I don't think this place is authentically owned by Japanese people though, because the portions are HUGE like the rolls are 3-4x the size of a normal sushi roll but with 1/2 the flavor from what I am used to. It tasted good enough but not the authentic Japanese super flavorful delicate sushi I was looking for. The rolls was so big, there's not way you can fit the whole thing in your mouth at once so I tried to cut it but the seaweed was soft and wouldn't cut...lolll.. the plate became a destroyed piece of cut roll and I had to eat each piece in a smaller piece which ruins the flavor. There is way too much rice on the rolls. The restroom was not bad but also not great. They ran out of toilet seat covers and was slightly unkempt. A real Japanese owned restaurant would have an immaculate restroom. Inside was loud every table was prety much full.“

“I came to Ichijiku Sushi to capitalize on the DineLA deal, which - priced at $55 - included a beverage (Hazy IPA), miso soup, edamame, yellowtail & jalapeno sashimi (3), spicy tuna on crispy rice (2), 6 nigiri comprising of bluefin tuna, yellowtail, salmon, branzino with yuzu kosho, albacore with house ponzu, and bluefin chutoro, two hand rolls (I chose yellowtail habanero and salmon ground sesame seed), and green tea mochi ice cream to close out.

It was an amazing meal, with each course bringing serious value through well-sourced ingredients & fish. The ambiance is conducive for sushi devouring with excellent conversations. And at $55, this was amazing. They also have a competitive happy hour that runs from 2-5pm daily, and I definitely want to check that out soon. Also big shout-out to Emi! Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. “One of the freshest—if not the best—sushi marketplaces in town! Yama Sushi Marketplace is a small shop that is always packed with locals looking to satisfy their sushi cravings, and after my first visit, I can definitely see why.

The store offers an impressive selection of Japanese goodies, including ramen, condiments, fresh sashimi, and a wide variety of sushi rolls. There are so many options and combinations to choose from. If you are looking for sashimi, head to the back of the store where they have conveniently packaged fish sold by the pound, and they will happily slice it for you. Or, if you are in a hurry, you can grab their freshly made sushi rolls from the refrigerators.

On my visit, I picked up ahi tuna, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi, along with California rolls and tuna rolls. Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh with a buttery texture and amazing flavor. The quality of the fish and the perfectly seasoned sushi rice were so good that I barely needed any soy sauce or wasabi.

I only recently discovered this hidden gem, but it has already become a place I will be visiting regularly. The sushi is high quality, reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. If you are a sushi lover, Yama Sushi Marketplace is definitely worth checking out!“

It had been a long time and it was still delicious. I got a bento box, my son got ayce.
I feel like the empty cubby in my bento box could have been filled with a wedge of orange or a few edamame. And most olaces will also give a couple of tempura veggies not just the shrimp. I did get a lot of salmon.“

“This place does Japanese AND Thai food?! So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. I got their spicy tuna and imitation crab crispy rice, dragon roll, and chicken pad Thai to try. The spicy tuna was smooth, not fishy, not really spicy, and pretty limey. The imitation crab mixture was mellow, not fishy or stringy, and was a little mayoy. The rice on the bottom was lightly crispity crunchity and chewy. The dragon roll was filled with more of that imitation crab mix and crunchy briney not fishy masago and was topped with a thin layer of creamy avocado, fatty skin on eel, and sweet drizzle. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the eel skin. The pad Thai came fresh crunchy iceberg lettuce topped with like a peanut sauce dressing. The pad Thai itself was nicely sweet, savory, and tangy and had chewy springy rice noodles, crunchy bean sprouts and a decent amount of a bit dry chicken breast, egg, and bean curd. They’re family owned, everyone here is super nice, and everything tasted really fresh, clean, and not fishy which I like. Overall this place is lowkey pretty good.

“sushiland is truly a hidden gem in hacienda heights. I come here almost weekly with my girlfriend and I never had something we didn’t like. The scallop roll, scallop sushi, and wagyu sushi are absolutely amazing. Toro is always fresh and the beers are cold and cheap. We are always met with a smile by the employees and truly feel the good energy in the restaurant as well as the food we are served. Beyond thankful this is a 2 minute drive I urge anyone in LP or HH to give this place a shot- i’ve eaten at about every sushi place in Hacienda Heights and this one is clearly the best.

“Really good spot for takeout pho. The broth was super flavorful and still hot when I got home, which I really appreciated. Everything was packed neatly and the portions were actually pretty generous for the price.

I got the pho to-go and the ingredients all tasted fresh, especially the herbs and bean sprouts. Service was quick and easy too. Definitely one of those places I’d come back to whenever I want something warm and comforting after a long day 🍜“
