“We ordered the spicy seafood ramen and a sushi roll, and both were delicious! The ramen broth was light, flavorful, and not too salty. The sushi roll tasted fresh and clean, and the fish was very fresh. I especially loved the warm, cozy music playing in the background. It gave the restaurant a lovely winter Christmas vibe. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit!“

Chutoro nigiri - Fresh, generous cut. Definitely a bit pricey but that’s to be expected of chutoro cut. It was so good we did 2 orders!
Tuna roll - Very good too, generous with tuna filling
Deluxe uni pasta - Wow, very creamy and uni-y. It does get very rich so recommend 2 people sharing. I was fully almost halfway into the dish because of how rich and creamy it was.

Service is pretty quick and ambiance can get pretty loud. We came on Friday night and there was a big party at a different table so it did get loud but thankfully we still got seated immediately. Will return again.“

“I got in pretty much as soon as they open, so I got the special opportunity to get to talk to Kristine. After a lovely conversation and delicious food, I left feeling so full and at peace. The tempura was crispy and airy, the rice was perfectly cooked, the fish in the sushi tasted fresh. I cannot recommend visiting here enough. I am sure it can get busy, as the place is small, but I think that is part of its charm: meeting with a group of strangers for a good meal and a moment of peace before heading back into the world.“

“Yama Sushi Market Place has many locations in LA, tried all different locations, love them all. I usually do not give five stars for rating, but for this one, they deserve the 5 star. The fish is extremely fresh with reasonable price. It will cost three or four times more if you order the exact same varieties of fish from restaurants . They also have a very good variety of sake to select from. The Otoro, the fatty tuna melts in your mouth. Hamachi was extremely fresh. Salmon was exceptional. California roll was so yummy with soft rice. Definitely recommend.“

“I came across this sushi bar by accident! I was trying to go eat Mexican food a couple doors down and they were closed. What a fabulous surprise. The sushi is super fresh. The rolls were interesting and totally delicious. I will definitely be back! I love that they have a back door also because it’s very convenient for the parking. “I recently tried Koki Ku Sushi, a newer Japanese restaurant in Duarte, and came away pleasantly surprised.

I stopped by for their lunch special and found the service attentive and welcoming throughout the meal. The 5-piece chef's choice premium nigiri was fresh and enjoyable, with each piece offering a nice variety of flavors.

I also ordered the Salmon Teriyaki with Spicy Tuna Roll combo. The teriyaki salmon was flavorful, although the slices were a bit thinner compared to what I've had at other sushi spots. The spicy tuna roll was generously portioned and filling enough to make for a satisfying lunch.

The restaurant itself has a clean, modern design and is conveniently located in the Target plaza, where parking is plentiful and easy. Overall, Koki Ku Sushi is a nice addition to the Duarte dining scene, and I'll be back to try more items from their menu.“

The nigiri was a standout, with perfectly seasoned rice and melt-in-your-mouth fish. Service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They even made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. One thing to note: Fillet doesn’t have a liquor license yet, so if you’re someone who enjoys pairing sushi with sake or wine, this might be a consideration. Delicious. Vert flavorful. And the best part about this spot is that it’s not in the crowed Dtla area. It’s on Cesar Chavez and with plenty of street meter parking. Very manageable. I will be back.“

“Arrived close to opening and we were the first party on the wait list, which you join by using an app. But there was an open table for 5, and when, after waiting a significant amount of time, we asked asked a server whether we could be seated at the open table, since we were a party of 3 and another party of 3 was seated at an identical table; he said he would ask, and then left, never to return with an answer to our question. When we finally were seated, it took 20 minutes for the server to return to take our food order after the drink order. The food was very good, but the overall experience was not. There is no host dealing with the wait list, and this is part of the problem. I recommend arriving at opening, or after 6:30 when things seem to slow down.“

“sushiland is truly a hidden gem in hacienda heights. I come here almost weekly with my girlfriend and I never had something we didn’t like. The scallop roll, scallop sushi, and wagyu sushi are absolutely amazing. Toro is always fresh and the beers are cold and cheap. We are always met with a smile by the employees and truly feel the good energy in the restaurant as well as the food we are served. Beyond thankful this is a 2 minute drive I urge anyone in LP or HH to give this place a shot- i’ve eaten at about every sushi place in Hacienda Heights and this one is clearly the best.

“Wow! I called today, Sunday, last minute for a party of 12. We were accommodated and seated within 30 minutes. Rashad the manager was our waiter. He was kind, personable, accommodating, just amazing. The staff that assisted Rashad also very nice. The food was outstanding. My party could not pick a favorite. However, we reordered the fried rice and Wagu Dumplings. You cannot go wrong with any item on the menu. The atmosphere is beautiful and intimate. Always a good time and great vibes. The owner is consistently pleasant and gracious. Highly recommend! Check out Nyx as well.“
