About Otomisan Restaurant

Otomisan Restaurant is a cozy Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles. The walls are decorated with art and photos, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The food is exceptional, with large chunks of fish in the sushi rolls and delicious beef teriyaki and pork cutlet combos. The miso soup and salad are simple yet perfected dishes, while the tempura is fresh and tasty.

The service is a mix of experiences, with a gem of an older woman and attentive staff who strive to make you feel at home, like dining in a traditional Japanese family-owned restaurant. The owner is welcoming, adding to the authentic feel.

Despite the limited seating and the not-so-great area, Otomisan Restaurant is a hidden gem that offers a delightful dining experience. The udon soup is a standout, with its rich and flavorful broth, and the teriyaki chicken is a must-try. This family-owned establishment has been a Boyle Heights staple for decades, serving basic Japanese comfort food that keeps customers coming back.
