“This sushi place is the best in town.
Raw tuna has an absolutely superb taste. It’s of great quality and has a high turnover rate, ensuring that you can always enjoy fresh sushi. However, one unfortunate aspect is that we don’t take reservations, which means we have to wait for at least 20 minutes.“

“Wonderful experience. The chef was friendly and entertaining and prepared the most beautiful omakase for us. I keep ingredients- kosher and the chef was easily able to create a menu of only fish with fins and scales for me on advance request. He was careful about cross contamination too.“

“Good Japanese foods , many varieties of dishes . The fish grilled sea bass is cooked just perfectly fine . The salad is kinda american Japanese fusion but still good . The carbonara noodle - I don’t really care (It doesn’t really fit with the rest of the dishes) - overall is a great place to enjoy Japanese foods“

The owner and only employees are a lovely husband and wife who put their all into their quality menu and a personalized touch with customer service. I wish every small business was this great. “Sawa is easily a top-10 restaurant in my opinion. The chef deserves a star. The entire experience went beyond my expectations, truly outstanding. I had so much fun dining there; the environment is friendly, and every bite was delicious. The host was spectacular, especially for suggesting we split the sake pairing, for someone who doesn’t drink much, it was more than enough. I’m already looking forward to coming back.“

“Sushi n Matcha Sho is the BEST sushi in Los Angeles. Everything is so fresh and delicious and the quality is top tier every time I come in. From the miso soup to the specialty rolls, you can really tell how much care and pride is put into the food they serve.
My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place by accident 6 months ago and it’s become our go to sushi spot. Despite living in Burbank, we try to make the trek to Sushi n Matcha Sho as often as we can.
Our favorites include the crunchy roll, rainbow roll, and the crunchy tuna rice, but the real star of every meal we have here has to be the Baked Crab Roll. The flavor is amazing, and the crab practically melts in your mouth. Additionally, the lemonade and matcha is to die for and pairs perfectly with anything you could order.
The staff is amazingly kind and the chef is an incredible talent, we love sitting at the sushi bar and watching him work anytime we come in.
If you’re looking for the best sushi in LA for a fraction of the cost of some of the other sushi spots in the city, Sushi n Matcha Sho needs to be the top of your list.“

“I had lunch there twice this week. The food is excellent. The fish is very fresh, specials are unique and delicious. Baked green lip mussels were amazing, baked black cod hand roll in soy paper was terrific. When I’m back in town I will be there again. My office is around. The corner.“

“Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.“

“Really phenomenal high quality sushi. They had some really wonderful, unique and delicious vegetarian options that were just as elegant and beautifully presented as the fish options. My husband who loves fish said his meal was some of the best sushi he ever had. We'll definitely be back!“

“Ok, this place is crazy good!
Totally worth the hype. It doesn't take reservations, so be prepared to wait, but the food is so worth it I can't even explain. Definitely the best sushi I've ever had.
We arrived relatively early, around 6:30 pm, and they told us there would be about a 1- to 1.5-hour wait for a table, but our table was ready within 45 minutes. It's small inside, nothing fancy. The food, though... omg! I would recommend getting in line and then going to do something else around the neighborhood, because otherwise, you'll just kind of randomly wait on the street. Definitely a must-try.“

“I took 4 of my closest friends here this past weekend. We sat from 12:30-3 and had a blast. The food is incredibly fresh and tasty and the customer service was crazy good! Very warm, welcoming, hospitable, and funny! One server played a few tasteful jokes on our table. Just a really great experience. We would have stayed but they break at 3. 10/10!“

“The food is sooooo good!!! It’s my comfort food now but the service is awful…We were the only customers in the restaurant at that time. When I asked for two pairs of chopsticks at the counter, the staff member appeared to ignore me completely. I had to repeat my request twice before she reluctantly looked up and threw the chopsticks at me. The service was disappointing and unnecessarily rude.“

“It’s not just a sushi restaurant.
Her entertainment is truly a form of Japanese art.
Enjoying sushi that melts so delicately, surrounded by the smiles of women, was an experience I had never had before.
Thank you! I’m already looking forward to the next time ♡“

“This was our third time dining at Eigikutei and we were just as pleased this time as we were with our maiden experience. We were favored with our personal favorite of the sushi kaiseki Yawaragi (10-piece sushi). All the separate elements of the course melded perfectly for our palette. The service was attentive and on que with our pacing of eating. And the ambience was quiet serenity. We highly recommend dining at Eigikutei for any fine dining connoisseur!“

“Finally tried this hand roll spot and it did not disappoint. Came during peak hours and waited a bit, but totally worth it. We ordered the 2person combo and everything was super fresh. The rice was perfectly seasoned and slightly warm, the nori was crisp, and the uni hand roll was outstanding — easily one of the best I’ve had. The soy marinated shrimp was also a standout. Small but stylish space, great quality overall. Would definitely come back!“

“Finding 715 Sushi already feels like part of the experience. You wait outside a gated wall, slightly unsure if you’re in the right place.
The omakase itself is incredibly. Every piece was fresh out and balanced. What stood out to me most was the rice, seasoned with a blend of soy sauce and rice vinegar rather than just vinegar alone. It gave the nigiri a more savory backbone. Nothing tasted rushed or careless; each bite felt deliberate.
The dish I haven’t stopped thinking about was the chestnut egg dish (likely kuri tamago). It was absolutely stunning! Soft, subtly sweet, and nutty. The flavor balance was beautiful and unexpected, and it ended up being the most memorable bite of the night for me.
Service was attentive when it came to refilling drinks and tea. The staffs were polite and accommodating. This experience was very thoughtful, refined, and well worth the drive.“

“Unsure initially but after reading reviews convince to visit and after ordering fully engulfed! I had the Red Dragon Roll, loved it! My son had the crunchy roll. And then I tried the beef bowl. Delicious. Vert flavorful. And the best part about this spot is that it’s not in the crowed Dtla area. It’s on Cesar Chavez and with plenty of street meter parking. Very manageable. I will be back.“

“Excellent! Totally lives up to the hype. Every dish we had was delicious but the salmon sushi, sweet potatoes and salmon collar were the standouts for me. Only thing I think they could work on is the space— tables set between breaks in the booth, air conditioning that turns the food cold quickly, blindingly bright neon lights. It could just be a bit more comfortable. Still, highly recommend!“

“Truly an unmatched dining experience for us. Everything is worth it. I wish I had remembered that we could bring our own sake/wine for a corkage fee, but the sake we had there was wonderful. It's amazing to see so much of the hard work that goes into the art of making delicious omakase up close, and the chefs make you feel welcome and special from the first moment.“

“This place is very chill and clean, with a self-serve bar for miso soup, ginger, wasabi, tea, and water. But I'm stopping in the middle of eating to write this review specifically because this is the best nigiri I can ever recall having!“

“I live in the UK and have family in LA. I have had the good fortune to visit Echigo on a number of occasions over quite a few years, it has always been exceptional, Chef is a true master of his craft. It’s a low key place, not fancy, just great sushi and lovely friendly service. Order whatever the chef wants to make for you and enjoy mouthful after mouthful of delicious sushi. I’m looking forward to returning next time I’m in town.“

“Excellent omakase that would rival those at twice the price. The actual omakase experience started about 30 minutes after the reservation time, so... Patience. Valet parking is available, which is always great to have when you spend 2+ hours for dinner in the LA area. I wish they can bring back the ginger they had about a year ago. That was some darn good ginger“

“Sushi Palace is one of those places that quietly overdelivers.
From the moment you walk in, the ambiance sets the tone. The neon lighting, the modern decor, and the overall vibe make it feel like an ideal date night spot without trying too hard. It’s stylish but still comfortable, which is harder to pull off than people think.
Now to the food.
The quality of the fish is immediately noticeable. The sashimi is clean, properly cut, and incredibly fresh. You can see it in the color and texture before you even taste it. The salmon had that rich, buttery finish you look for, and the tuna was vibrant and smooth with no metallic aftertaste. This is fish that’s clearly handled with care.
The sushi rice was seasoned well and balanced, not overly sweet or vinegary. That detail alone separates good sushi from average sushi. Presentation across the board was thoughtful without being overcomplicated. It looks beautiful, but more importantly, it tastes right.
Another thing worth mentioning is value. For this level of quality, the pricing is more than fair compared to other restaurants serving comparable sushi and sashimi. You’re not paying inflated “scene” prices here.
If you’re looking for a strong date night sushi spot with high-quality fish and a cool atmosphere, Sushi Palace deserves to be on your list. This is a place that focuses on freshness, execution, and experience.
I’ll definitely be back.“

“5 stars for the delicious and high quality sushi. plus i have a gluten allergy and the chef/ server was super considerate and knew exactly what needed to be modified. my favorites were the bluefin tuna nigiri and the yellowtail hand roll (with soy paper), and i don’t typically like yellowtail.
however, i did not realize there was a 16% service fee included in the bill. it says so on the menu so that’s my oversight but at kazu nori, for example, the server tells you not to tip because of the service fee. so on the little screen i tipped 20% on top of the 16% service fee and tax. it’s my bad for not paying closer attention but they don’t verbally tell you either.“
