“I've been wanting to try different omakase places in the LA area for a while now, and stumbled upon Omakase by Ozen online - and I'm glad I came! Reservations were made quickly and easily via Yelp, and I love that I was able to change my reservation time without much of a hassle. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate after I took the MCAT, so we were extremely hungry when we got here. I think this place might have had valet out front, but we opted to just find street parking in the neighborhood for a ~5 minute walk (which worked out afterwards since it let us walk off our food!). The actual restaurant is a very small and quaint place; we sat at a table instead of the bar but I thought the decorations were very cute. Service was very fast and attentive. They handed us a menu as soon as we came in, and we ordered the $130 omakase - which was a pretty good deal for the quality of the food and the whole experience. I do have to say that I was not full after the meal (so my boyfriend and I ended up getting more food afterwards at a different place), but I did enjoy my time here. Definitely worth a try if you're celebrating because of the food and the service, but I personally don't think I'd come back for the omakase.“

“Susuru holds a special place in my heart. I’ve tried a number of items on their menus and everything is ???. I can’t stress enough about how good this ramen is. I’ve only known about Susuru for a month or so but have eaten here over 8 times. All of the broths are rich and authentic. The Thai coconut curry ramen is mind blowing and a generous serving. My go tos are the Miso and Tonkatsu. Add spice for extra flavor. I brought my coworkers here and everyone’s bowls were finished down to the last drop of broth. Easily one of the best ramens shops in LA. It’s got a great mom and pop atmosphere. Food comes out quick. What else can I say, I’m in love with Susuru. Anytime I want ramen in the future, I’m going to come here. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water. ?“

Kinmedai was excellent. So was Aji from Osaka. Tuna is from Hokkaido, taste similar to Ohma tuna, but slightly difficult. Chef knows edomae style and textures of fish, either natural or farm raised. “This is a gem! I’m a big fan of Omakase sushi and this place did not disappoint. I highly recommend sitting at the bar. Service was impeccable, friendly, and always ready. Attention to detail was superb! I didn’t take any photos because they asked me to silence my phones (you can still take photos), but I wanted to be respectful and also focus on my taste buds and not my phone. Admittedly this place doesn’t look much from the outside (Weller Court could use some updates), but don’t be afraid to step inside. One suggestion for them is to have a sake pairing option as I am a sake lover. I did get their cold sake that ended up tasting wonderful, so I’m not complaining. As for price, I think it’s reasonable for an Omakase place like this. You’re really paying for the experience. Without drinks, I think it’s around $200 for a full course meal and tax/tip. “Yes it's right next to a gas station but that shouldn't put you off, the place is pretty good. There are only 4 parking sports directly in front so at a busy time I can see this being an issue. The service was great. The waiter was very friendly and helpful in case we had any questions. The food ranges from decent to good. The Black Garlic Miso Ramen wasn't hot enough for me and way too salty. The tofu that I ordered as my protein was cold. The Lady Gaga sushi was a mixed bag. The toppings were a great combination of flavor but the tuna itself wasn't very good. I wouldn't order it again personally. That being said, we did really enjoy the Shrimp Tempura Cut Roll. It's not the best I've had but still very good. The Garlic Edamame as a starter was pretty amazing I have to say. Definitely get that! We started off with an assorted sashimi plate that had 3 pieces each of tuna, salmon, kampachi, and Japanese scallops and a plate of scallop carpaccio. It was soo yummy that we ordered another plate of scallop carpaccio and then we felt like we just had to try the kampachi carpaccio. Sooo good and the scallops just melt in your mouth! For our main dishes, we decided to share the Spicy Tonkotsu with extra bamboo shoots and the Truffle Butter Tonkotsu. The broths were very flavorful, the noodles fresh, and the chasu was delicious. For dessert, the friendly staff recommended the house-made Shio Koji ice cream with black sea salt to help cleanse our palates. It was very light and definitely refreshing. And I also tried the Genmaicha tea which was very light, aromatic, and soothing. All in all this place is a must go-to when you're in Ktown. “This restaurant is affiliated with several sushi restaurants in Los Angeles and Westwood. It is located on the 2F of the H Mart Madong Plaza, and they validate parking. It has only been open for a month, and it appears to be building up a following. Madong Plaza is also the home to several restaurants, Daiso Japan, Cosmetic World, Paris Baguette. It would be worth your while to enjoy a meal at California Rock N Sushi and do you shopping. The pictures don't do justice to the presentation and quality of the seafood they serve here. I have eaten sushi in Japan, Seattle, and Hawaii. The freshness of their seafood and presentation are unique and unmatched. The sushi chefs are artists, who are clearly experienced and can create works of art. They carry an extensive menu of hand rolls, cut rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and specialties. We had the Red Dragon and Lemon Rolls cut style, chirashi bowl, teppanyaki, and ama ebi. (If they have ama ebi on the menu, do not hesitate to order it.) From seating to the end of our meal, service was top notch. Although this restaurant is located in Koreatown, sushi is universal. I highly recommend that you take the time to visit this restaurant and enjoy your meal here. I would rate this 6 stars if Yelp allowed me to.“

Music selection was great. Overall, loved loved loved it! Recommend to everyone and a place I'll definitely be coming back to!“

“A new cute little gem in the neighborhood! I ordered takeout through the yelp app. I got a dragon roll, California roll and kinpira gobo. When I stopped in, I was immediately greeted, tended to and even received a thank you from the chef for coming by. Got home and the food was packaged nicely, with plenty of sauces, ginger (my favorite) and utensils. I can tell the quality of the food is great as everything tasted super fresh and delicious. This location used to be a boba shop before. I'm looking forward to stopping by and trying more items, especially their matcha. Overall a lovely first impression and seems to be mom and pop owned - I always try to support small business.“

“Cozy, chill hand roll bar. Inside is all bar seating, which is nice as you get an up close view of the rolls being made. There is outdoor patio seating as well but it was a bit chilly when I went. Staff is really attentive. There are a lot of roll combo options on the menu but I went a la carte. I loved everything I ate - spicy tuna and the avocado crispy rice as well as the crab and the salmon roll. The person I was with ordered a bowl which was a good size. Nice spot for solo lunch or a group of two. Very relaxed vibes.“

“Service excellent. Ambiance very geared toward focusing on the food. Overall a great experience with a high level of quality. Our highlight unexpectedly was the Hokkaido sardines. My SO and I literally stopped and stared at each other mid-chew, astonished at how good it was. Initially they thought something was wrong after seeing us freeze, but they then realized we were just stunned from how good the dishes were.“

“Came here solo for dinner and wow, what a cool concept… one roll at a time! I got 6 for $29 and it was the perfect amount to taste all flavors and just enough to fill me. Service was great and the beers were reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend for a chill date night. The salmon and scallop roll were the best! I wish I could have tried more and or the dessert.“

“Amazing! The fish is so fresh and the seaweed is perfectly toasted and crisp! Some of the best handrolls I’ve ever had and honestly affordable for the sushi quality! I like the counter service and although the menu is limited, I really don’t need any extra frills when the handrolls are this good“

“Fun place to duck into before a show at the Pantages for a good cocktail and a bite. Enjoyed a variety of sushi to pair with our drinks. If sushi isn't your thing, there is a full menu of options on the reverse menu including short ribs, pasta and such. Ambience is spacious with two floors, outdoor patio seating protected from the busy street and an open bar. Can order food at the bar if a table is not available. Service is efficient and friendly. “Top # sushi in LA. Very 80s interior but not by design. The food is also retro but its next level. All the untraditional dishes with fried onion or garlic, seared pieces and baked cod is bomb! The size of the fish and rice is also perfect (I dont like giant cuts or too much rice) Highly highly “

“I would love to give this place a perfect score. It has excellent food that tastes of authenticity. They need to do something about lighting and flooring. That's all. It would make a huge difference to the ambience, and probably isn't such a huge investment. It's enough to keep you from going there for a special event, but don't let it be enough to keep you from going for a fantastic meal, and a fantastic time.“
