“Came to their restaurant for the first time and was met with such warmness. We ordered the #12,15,20&26. The #26 was my favorite and so was the number #15. All of the food was good though. They just remodeled the restaurant so everything is really modern and clean. The staff is very friendly. Their pepino lemonade with chia seeds is a must have. Definitely recommend this place!“
“Ordered takeout from this place and the sushi was so fresh and delicious. The combination of creamy avocado, spicy jalapeño, and top-quality fish was a taste sensation. If you're a sushi lover you must also try their Mexican Roll wow! The reason why I give this place 4 stars and not 5 is because the rolls could have been tighter since it always falls off when you pick it up. Overall, I will definitely be craving this place and will be back.“
“A next level dining experience. The ability to deliver dish after dish that could stand alone as signature dishes at nearly any other restaurant while combining the refinement and attention to detail that comes from years of experience in fine dining with a fun energetic atmosphere is truly special. I wish I could have tried even more. Well worth a trip. I will certainly be back again and again to share this experience with many friends.“
“Hidden away in the city of Los Angeles is this amazing bar that serves one of the tastiest omakase. Entering the bar, you see a bar top that seats approx 10-12 people, with a open kitchen vibe. My partner and I had a great time. The Sunday crew was very nice and attentive, engaging with the customers and making things fun! The selection of fish was amazing, definitely a different experience compared to other omakase establishments I've been to.Parking was very easy since they provided easy simple instructions on their website :). Will definitely visit again on a Sunday ??Parking: Easy to access garage and the elevator close by. Very nice :)“
“Certainly, here's a draft for your review:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"Sushi Nikkei in Bixby Knolls truly stands out as a top-tier dining experience. While the food is undeniably fantastic, what truly sets this restaurant apart is the impeccable service. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your meal is nothing short of exceptional. The sushi selection is diverse and delicious, showcasing a perfect blend of traditional Japanese flavors with innovative twists. Each dish is beautifully presented and bursting with freshness. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or new to Nikkei cuisine, this restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary journey. I highly recommend Sushi Nikkei for an unparalleled dining experience that exceeds expectations in both food quality and service."“
“Every dish was melt in your mouth good. Some of the best sushi I’ve had at this price point. Will definitely come back, highly recommend. The shop is a smaller spot and a bit unassuming, but the food speaks for itself. The staff were also extremely friendly, allowing us to move some tables around to meet our groups needs when they weren’t too busy. Really appreciate the visit here.“
“Food - The best in Korea Town. When I arrived, there were three customers sitting at tables, and five to six were standing, waiting for to-go orders. This place, despite its name, is not a dine-in specialty restaurant but rather a take-out specialty. There were no servers and they were too busy to pack to-go orders.Parking: Finding a street parking spot is incredibly hard, especially on Fridays.“
“Great history and food. Very impressive tempura and curry, and of course the sashimi was super fresh. I do miss AOI, so the home estylen cooking here was a real rad treat. I loved it, we came pretty early and on a weekday as you must do because it gets filled up so fast!! So glad we made the effort because it had been on our list so long and it didn't disappoint“
“Ordered for takeout via the website during my lunch break-- the portions are huge for the price and great quality! Pickup was fast and efficient. The steps are a cute area to get some sun amidst the workday. Check it out if you work in the area and are looking for something different than the usual!!!“
“First time visiting and we had the omakase. The staff welcomed us like they have known us for years as soon as we walked in. The service throughout the omakase was amazing and the sushi was the best weve had since visiting Japan! Toshisan is passionate and friendly. Cant wait to go back asap! I wish I could keep Toshi Sushi to myself and not tell anyone about it, but they deserve to be successful so I chose to write this review. We are incredibly lucky to have sushi of this quality, at s reasonable price, and in Gardena no less. If you're reading this, dont think about it any longer and just go.“
“Chef is from Osaka Japan, he made great shari (slightly sweeter side as compared to Tokyo edomae purist style), nonetheless it was good texture, temperature. Most of fish from Japan. Kinmedai was excellent. So was Aji from Osaka. Tuna is from Hokkaido, taste similar to Ohma tuna, but slightly difficult. Chef knows edomae style and textures of fish, either natural or farm raised. Hope he carries more like Awabi, akagai, kohada, and more hikarimono next time. It was pleasant sushi dining experience.“
“My boyfriend and I got the omakase but to be honest it was not worth it, the food tasted great but you can get almost the exact same course by ordering the 10 piece nigiri from the menu for half of the price. The atmosphere is nice but not appropriate for a traditional omakase. Highly recommend, just save your money and skip out on the omakase.“
“This is a gem! I’m a big fan of Omakase sushi and this place did not disappoint. I highly recommend sitting at the bar. Service was impeccable, friendly, and always ready. Attention to detail was superb! I didn’t take any photos because they asked me to silence my phones (you can still take photos), but I wanted to be respectful and also focus on my taste buds and not my phone. Admittedly this place doesn’t look much from the outside (Weller Court could use some updates), but don’t be afraid to step inside. One suggestion for them is to have a sake pairing option as I am a sake lover. I did get their cold sake that ended up tasting wonderful, so I’m not complaining. As for price, I think it’s reasonable for an Omakase place like this. You’re really paying for the experience. Without drinks, I think it’s around $200 for a full course meal and tax/tip. Highly recommend!“
“Met with a long time college friend here for lunch and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing, the mala taboki was my favorite. My friend and I shared 6 Yubu, sushi roll, and a hand roll to go. Staff was very friendly and we were told our food will take 10-15 mins to prepare due to the delicate and meticulous nature of preparation and honestly didn't mind. Can't rush good quality meal! Space had ample parking, spacious and even accommodate wheelchair accessibility. You can tell the chef and team put a lot of of care into their food but also making sure all parties feel welcome King Yubu, the official King of LA“
“want to start off by saying that this place is definitely timeless and i understand why it is one of the first ever sushi places in LA. The prices are unbelievable and i went with 2 other friends and ended up ordering a lot of food. The thing with sushi it’s hard to get full usually, but here the sushi that would be 2-3x the price is affordable and delicious. The atmosphere is great and authentic and your surroundings are pleasant and vibrant. Lots of people speaking japanese to the sushi chef and made the experience at the bar feel fun. i wish i got more pictures but we were starving but we wanted to try a little bit of everything. This place is great for family and friends and even a date at the bar for a fun time. make sure to on off hours or make a reservation if you can cause it can get packed in there. Overall it’s worth a drive to the K town area and get full.“
“My teenagers and I were impressed with the simplicity of flavors of all our dishes. We started off with an assorted sashimi plate that had 3 pieces each of tuna, salmon, kampachi, and Japanese scallops and a plate of scallop carpaccio. It was soo yummy that we ordered another plate of scallop carpaccio and then we felt like we just had to try the kampachi carpaccio. Sooo good and the scallops just melt in your mouth! For our main dishes, we decided to share the Spicy Tonkotsu with extra bamboo shoots and the Truffle Butter Tonkotsu. The broths were very flavorful, the noodles fresh, and the chasu was delicious. For dessert, the friendly staff recommended the house-made Shio Koji ice cream with black sea salt to help cleanse our palates. It was very light and definitely refreshing. And I also tried the Genmaicha tea which was very light, aromatic, and soothing. All in all this place is a must go-to when you're in Ktown. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and very helpful for suggesting menu items. This is definitely our family's favorite find of the year!“
“I don't want to say it, but this is the best sushi in the city. Perfect atmosphere and food quality. Most similar to sushi in Japan without the additions and perversions of fusion cooking or the type of cooking culture that chases Michelin clout.I only regret saying it because more people will know, which means the wait will be longer.Get the tamago. It is heaven in a little split yellow cake.Kid-friendliness: Bring your own high chair. We bring our toddler and she does great, but there are only two tables for small children and we have to bring our own modular high chair.“
“Came here with my friends after Sake2Me had closed down their waitlist, but honestly I don't regret it one bit. We had a great time here with their service and quality of fish! The AYCE Sushi price here is $42.99 for the regular menu options. I honestly think that's enough choices for that price. Food takes a bit to come out and comes out sporadically. The quality of the fish was enough to make it worth it. We gobbled up every round so quick! I have to come back here whenever I'm craving good sushi in LB.“
“Great service! The lady at the register is so sweet with everyone who walks in the door. The sushi was fresh and priced reasonably. My favorite was the Tiger Roll. This place is more for takeout, they have a small seating area but no table service. Order at the register and pick up your order. I only knocked down one star for the wait time. I was told 20mins and it was more like 45mins. They seem really busy so I'd recommend to call ahead or expect to wait. Also, there is a 3.95% card fee if using a credit card so I paid with cash. I'll definitely return.“
“The atmosphere was nice with friendly service from the owner and staff, and the freshness of the fish and the setting were enough to whet my appetite. However, due to the catering schedule, the opening date isThere is a sign in front of the entrance, but you should check if it is open before visiting. Have a nice meal.“
“This was a solid spot for sushi! It's kind of hidden and I wouldn't have known if my friend didn't bring up the place, but the ambiance was nice! We had the premium sushi set, Orange Blossom Roll, and Sunshine Roll- which were all good. It is on the pricier side and portions are small. Service was average.“
“I ordered the chicken ramen, comes with seaweed, boiled egg, corn, green onions and your choice of protein. I thought the ramen was very good. Only issues were there is no complimentary parking so you have to pay for valet which is 6$. With the already expensive ramen be prepared to spend about 40-50$ for two people.“
“My boyfriend and I love eating here. It's a very popular spot, so if you don't want to wait in line for a long time, I recommend coming on a weekday or early. If you eat at the bar, you do not have an option for the lunch menu. At the bar, sushi is made in front of you. It's very good, but prices add up quickly if you like to eat a lot. Sitting at the table, they have a really good lunch special.“
“This is the Little Tokyo outlet of Sushi Enya. The place is on the same street as the popular ramen place. We orders the 18 piece sashimi set twice and the chef was thoughtful enough to put different fish slices on the two orders. We also tried their specialty eel roll which is served on a very long dish since eels are long? Quality of the fish are quite high and attention to details are there. There are not many tables so it gets crowded. Usually there is a wait so suggest to arrive early (5PM) or use table reservations. They have a cancellation fee if you make table reservation. There is no parking on site so you have paid street parking or paid parking structure near by.“
“My first time coming to Sushito, and will definitely be back again once my mom and I get a craving for teriyaki bowls! Was greeted very well, lady in front was very friendly, polite, and patient when I asked her questions about the menu. Was also told about their buy 2 bowls/plates get 1 free on Tuesdays!“
“This restaurant is affiliated with several sushi restaurants in Los Angeles and Westwood. It is located on the 2F of the H Mart Madong Plaza, and they validate parking. It has only been open for a month, and it appears to be building up a following. Madong Plaza is also the home to several restaurants, Daiso Japan, Cosmetic World, Paris Baguette. It would be worth your while to enjoy a meal at California Rock N Sushi and do you shopping. The pictures don't do justice to the presentation and quality of the seafood they serve here. I have eaten sushi in Japan, Seattle, and Hawaii. The freshness of their seafood and presentation are unique and unmatched. The sushi chefs are artists, who are clearly experienced and can create works of art. They carry an extensive menu of hand rolls, cut rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and specialties. We had the Red Dragon and Lemon Rolls cut style, chirashi bowl, teppanyaki, and ama ebi. (If they have ama ebi on the menu, do not hesitate to order it.) From seating to the end of our meal, service was top notch. Although this restaurant is located in Koreatown, sushi is universal. I highly recommend that you take the time to visit this restaurant and enjoy your meal here. I would rate this 6 stars if Yelp allowed me to.“
“Had a great dinner at Kogane again. The food and service were great. The sushi chefs were friendly and gave very interesting tidbits about the fish, process and taste. The meal lasts about 1 hr and 45 min. Since everyone eats at the same rate for each dish through the course, don't forget to be on time. :)“
“Tried their Las Vegas Sushi Roll and Jalapeño Poppers with a raspberry iced tea on a weekday mid-day. The Jalapeño Poppers were garnished beautifully with a flower which was lovely! They were fried lightly but the batter was separating from the peppers, but other than that I had no complaints. The Las Vegas sushi roll was good, and the salmon tasted fresh. Overall it was an okay experience!“
“Service excellent. Ambiance very geared toward focusing on the food. Overall a great experience with a high level of quality. Our highlight unexpectedly was the Hokkaido sardines. My SO and I literally stopped and stared at each other mid-chew, astonished at how good it was. Initially they thought something was wrong after seeing us freeze, but they then realized we were just stunned from how good the dishes were.“
“This place is totally underrated and deserves more attention. Food is excellent and on par with other great Japanese restaurants. This is my second time here and I’ve throughly enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, sushi tastes fresh and they serve large portions. What else could you want?“
“It's located in the sketchiest of neighborhoods but my God the sushi quality is amazing. Highly recommend. It's a small spot, so don't expect fast service. If you do come here I suggest calling in your order ahead of time so you don't have to wait.“
“A 100% recommendation! The service recommended a perfect selection of traditional and special sushi with a very high quality. Taste and look of the rolls were amazing! Also the service was very friendly and incredibly warm hearted. Our personal highlight was the tempura fried ice cream.Thank you for this wonderful evening!“
“If I could eat here everyday I would. These are my favorite types of sushi restaurants to go to. Simple but far from ordinary. No frills, no heavily sauced California rolls, or flashy items just great quality sushi made as traditional as possible. Everything (that I tried) was fresh.I’m so glad that I found this little gem on this side of town. I’m coming back ASAP to try the rest of the restaurant. If you’re looking for a place to try real sushi, I would definitely put this on your list.My favorites from my visit were the Live Sweet Shrimp (fried head), Uni, Toro, Salmon Belly, Yellowtail, Scallop handroll, and the salmon collar. Like I said, I’m coming back to eat the rest.“
“Every single bite was delicious. Great service with well thought sequences of dishes. Interior was clean and woody. Reminds me of traditional sushi restaurant in Japan. Dishes and glassware were cute and were hand picked by chef's wife. Must try!“
“Came here solo for dinner and wow, what a cool concept… one roll at a time! I got 6 for $29 and it was the perfect amount to taste all flavors and just enough to fill me. Service was great and the beers were reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend for a chill date night. The salmon and scallop roll were the best! I wish I could have tried more and or the dessert.“
“Amazing! The fish is so fresh and the seaweed is perfectly toasted and crisp! Some of the best handrolls I’ve ever had and honestly affordable for the sushi quality! I like the counter service and although the menu is limited, I really don’t need any extra frills when the handrolls are this good“
“This is probably the most popular place to get your lunch at from students and faculty at El Camino College. Every meeting I'm at around lunch time I see someone eating from Mr. H. I really love their spamasubi and their miso soup. It reminds me of my high school days when people would sell spamasubi from their backpacks. The place has a few tables and chairs to sit on if you are looking to dine in or wait for your food. Cool thing about their service too is they have a buzzer for when your food is ready. Sometimes it takes a little long to get the food to come out but it's always hot and ready to eat when they do.“
“The food is still spectacular I have been coming here since my friend brought me back in 2013. I obviously have my favorites, but I've tried a good majority of the plates and I'm never disappointed. A total of 4 of us came with my 2yr old that fell asleep. Without even asking the staff accommodated us by seating us in the enclosed outdoor area (it's quieter there than inside) and turned on the heater without being asked. Extremely attentive staff checking in on us (we never felt forgotten outside). If you need sushi recommendations we had the Call Me Babe, Earthquake, Dragon Tear, and non spicy garlic edamame all options are delicious.“
“I always wanted to try Omakase and was in LA for the day. I had the lunch special and it was unbelievable. I have been eating sushi since the early 90s and this was by far, the best I have ever had. I would highly recommend trying this place.“
“Amazing selection and loved the service. Waitress was working hard waiting tables herself for the most part with some help from the back. Comes in 3 diff price tiers and we got the one with sashimi and boy was it worth it. No alcohol license right now but we still had a great time. Free parking for 2 hours and menu doesn't include beverages other than water or dessert! Ambience is sitting around other people, nothing secluded. If come again because the fish is“

“I recently dined at this exceptional sushi restaurant, and it exceeded all expectations. The quality of the fish was impeccable, and each dish was a masterpiece of flavors. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing meal, and the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. From the presentation to the taste, every aspect of the dining experience was top-notch. I highly recommend this place to any sushi enthusiast - a true gem in the world of Japanese cuisine!“
“Service was great with attentive server and bringing out dishes. The lunch omakase was by far the better one compared to the dinner set. Fun interactive experience for the lunch omakase with different dipping salts, and making your own sushi with rice, seaweed, and assorted season sashimi pieces. Dinner set was nicer in terms of presentation, but not as satisfying with the amount of food provided and cuts of fish offered. Great place to try though for lunch if you're a fan of aesthetic and sushi!“
“Best omakase for the value in South Bay. Owned by a Japanese husband and wife duo in a strip mall corner. Parking has always been available every time we’ve been here, and we’ve came over 6+ times now. Go often and keep them in business for years to come!“
“The service is really good. The cooking time is a little exceeded in time but it is because they actually cook real food there. The teriyaki bowl was so delicious, definitely recommended would also recommend the shrimp tempura as a side dish. The only downside is the soda station because it is out of order. so not too many options to choose from when it comes to having a drink …… its still a 5 star highly recommended!!!!!!!!“
“Sushi Island is a great place to eat at! Most of the time, I order takeout and I usually get the same thing every time. I order a combination plate with Japanese style meatballs and sesame chicken. The meal comes with rice, salad and miso soup on the side. The food is delicious and the people who work there are always nice and helpful! I love coming here and will continue to do so. I definitely recommend eating here if you haven't tried it yet. :-)“
“What great little discovery! My wife and I were exploring DTLA on a sleepy rainy Sunday and happened upon this great sushi restaurant off of Santa Fe Ave in Downtown LA. The sign from the street read, “Happy Hour 3-6pm daily!”We stopped in to get the Mrs some tasty sushi.Kombu Sushi was a cozy bright fantastic surprise!Great fresh fish, chill atmosphere, and excellent service! We were given seared yellowtail sushi as well as lynchee mochi ice cream. They were so nice.We will definitely be back soon!“
“Surprisingly really loved the crunch roll ! The shrimp on top was fried in the same seasoned batter & really added a nice taste! The pieces of sole I ordered were very thin however i think If i didn't request for them to be "fried hard" it would've been ok, so that's on me. Would def try again :)“
“When I'm in Long Beach it's Ramen Hub....their Tonkatsu Ramen is off the chain...the pork broth is key and I can taste it was made with lots of love. come in and check it out for yourself. the menu is excellent just like the service.“
“(Translated by Google) The sushis are very tasty and the waitress treats me very well, it is very clean and it has a wide variety of sauces!(Original)Muy ricos los sushis y muy bien trato por parte de la mesera, muy limpio y tiene mucha variedad de salsas!“
