Overall: I came here for the first time, got the ham and cheese sandwich with an order of fries. At $16 for both I was a bit surprised, a bit more than I would like to pay for the portions I received. The sandwich was a fair size but the fries portions were small, they put it in a tiny container. The food was really good so I may come back but only in the area. Restaurant was clean and feels more spacious than it looks from outside. They get the extra star for the food being very good and cleanliness of the restaurant.“

“I was feeling like eating ramen today and my friend brought me here to California Sushi and Teriyaki. As I walked in I could see how clean this place is, I also enjoy the music they had playing. It was a mixture of classic and alternative Rock. Well in this visit I had a combo #89 Ramen and golden crunch roll, I ask for spicy beef flavor ? the Ramen soup had a very good tasty flavor, the beef was sweet and very soft and tender. I believe they use the same beef from the teriyaki bowl. Now when it comes to the Golden Crunch roll don't expect to be just like the one you get when you go the a Japanese restaurant but never the less is good sushi. The price is on point at $9.75 you will leave satisfied ? ?.“

“This was such an incredible experience, my group sat at the sushi bar and this was all our first times having Omakase. We couldn’t have asked for a better and more delicious experience. The couple that owns this restaurant is so sweet and absolutely incredible with customer service. We felt like we had been coming here for years, and ordered more food at the end of our 12 piece meal bc it was all so delicious and we couldn’t get enough. I think we each got 3 more pieces. I can’t wait to return. This made my husband’s birthday, so very special. Thank you again for such a night to remember. One of the best meals I’ve ever had!!“

“Unsure initially but after reading reviews convince to visit and after ordering fully engulfed! I had the Red Dragon Roll, loved it! My son had the crunchy roll. And then I tried the beef bowl. Delicious. Vert flavorful. And the best part about this spot is that it’s not in the crowed Dtla area. It’s on Cesar Chavez and with plenty of street meter parking. Very manageable. I will be back.“

Salmon didnt have a fresh taste or the white lines throughout but the yellowtail was nice and fresh. Staff was fun and gave great service. She apologized that several of the things we had wanted to order were not on the menu due to popular demand. We ordered a decent spread of food, including salad, sushi, udon, chicken karaage, and bulgogi. Everything was pretty good. The workers wrote my friend's name on a placard on the table and even gave us free vanilla ice cream for his birthday! The total came out to $60 for both of us, with tip. The Special Roll Tray was flavorful and a great portion size for 4 people with moderate appetites. The Tempura Ice Cream was amazing. I loved the contrast between the crispy crunchy exterior and the cold ice cream inside. The pricing was fair and standard. They have korean fushion rolls on the menu. I will be coming back to try those!

“I always wanted to try this place whenever I came to this mall because it looked really cozy and had an old-school Japanese vibe outside. Finally tried it, but I was a little disappointed. It feels more like a roll-focused spot than a traditional sushi place.

The rolls were okay, and they give free miso soup and a small salad, which was nice!!

I feel like if they cleaned up the decor a bit and put more effort into remodeling, plus added more sushi and sashimi options, this place could be way more popular. It definitely has a lot of potential.“

We ordered the jalapeño bomb and Jessica roll. They're both shrimp tempura rolls but where the jalapeño bomb was creamy and spicy the Jessica roll tasted bright and fresh. We left full and very satisfied.“

Everything came out beautifully presented and the fish was genuinely fresh across the board. The crispy rice is the move. Caramelized, warm, light spicy tuna on top. Comes heavy on the sauce so just know that going in. We will ask for a lighter touch next time but it was still delicious.
