“I loved this place. Everyone there were so welcoming and the Taisho (The head chef) was super entertaining and made me feel like I’ve been there before. They are so proud of what they provide and all the fish are coming from Japan. Not only they are coming from Japan but also coming by first class over night shipping. They take care of their fish so well and I was so impressed when I ate.I’m so picky when it comes to Shari (rice) and yes! They use Akashari, which is red vinegar and rice. Their rice is sooo fluffy so you feel like you can eat a lot!I’m so so happy that I finally went there tonight! I’m hoping to come back soon and thank you again so much for everything!Ah btw, their desert was amazing too! The female chef makes the desert and we loved it!“
“Very delicious sushi spot that just blends in with majority of the closed shops near it, especially since the entrance was roped off as if it was actually closed, from the outside. If you’re looking for a kikkoman soy sauce spot, this isn’t for you.Ordered two carpaccios, one with fresh wasabi and ponzu, can’t remember the fish, and another carpaccio, think either halibut or albacore, that had yuzu juice and mushroom and those two dishes were phenomenal. Every bite was simply amazing and irresistible. Great fish quality, not a single piece was questionable in appearance, texture, taste; the quality was delicious. The assorted tempura was crunchy, the batter didn’t disintegrate when you dipped it and didn’t break up when you were biting it. A delicious batter that kept its integrity and highlighted the beauty of each ingredient being used. Loved having a tempura mushroom and the white fish was a unique and different touch. The nigiri- where the begin. All of it was delicious. For a party of two, we each walked away with eating $190 each which is a lot for how much we ordered truthfully but because the quality of the food was better that majority of the places we had, it was worth it and can’t wait to go back. No alcohol either. It was a treat to eat here and treat ourselves. The most delectable and fragile scallops that just melt in your mouth, the albacore was a dance in your mouth as well as anything else that had a drop of yuzu on it. Ended my experience with uni and it was pure velvet. The most underwhelming item I ate was a spicy tuna since I was genuinely curious but I wouldn’t order that again and just stick with nigiri. Each nigiri order is 1 piece and sashimi is 2 pieces. Thank you Jinpachi for a cozy atmosphere and a delicious treat- can’t wait for more!“
“1000000/10. I have lived in west la for 7 years and always thought the sushi in la was mid at best. That there was something about the weather that kept it from tasting fresh like east coast sushi. Then I came here. This may be my new favorite restaurant in LA. The sushi is mind blowing fresh and tasty. For the price point it's truly unbeatable. Had no idea it was possible for sushi to taste this fresh. Like wow. I also love that it's comfy seating which is so rare at sushi places. Sage helped me and he was an absolute gem. This is my happy place. I could literally eat here everyday, I had the sushi, tempura, and spider roll all were incredible. I'm so happy I stumbled across this hidden gem“
“Amazing sushi! And very well priced. Probably the best sushi you can get in LA for the price. Had both take out and delivery and had a great experience both times. The owner and staff are all extremely kind as well. I will be going back here regularly“
“This restaurant has incredible food, a delightful atmosphere and the staff was amazing. I was part of a large group that swarmed the place at an unusual hour and the staff was amazing at handling the sudden influx and was really accommodating for a member of our group that has severe allergies. Most importantly of all the food was top notch. Highly recommend.“
“The food, vibe, and service at sushi is top notch! We come here often and always try something new. We are never disappointed! You can even get Kobe sliders, and there are plenty of non fish options. The staff is courteous and the owner Dov is the best. Best restaurant at Sunset Plaza!“
“Unbelievable dinner - perfect service, atmosphere, and food. I felt like I was teleported to Kyoto with how impeccable the restaurant is, down to its size even! The unagi meal was a dream, I love the 3 different ways you can enjoy the eel and everything that comes with it. Lovely sake pairing as well as recommended by one of the servers. The food is pricy but 1000% worth it!Will dine again soon for sure! Also the matcha creme Brulee was the perfect ending to the whole thing omg“
“They have been here forever. And there is a reason for that - some of the freshest sushi you can find. The owners are lovely people. And they cut no corners - if the fish they find that day isn't up to their standards they simply won't put it on the menu. You never know what kind of fish they may have on any one day.I go twice a week sometimes. All their cooked food is fantastic as well.Awesome all the way around.“
“What an amazing small yet great little spot. As someone who's a 20 year sushi person I highly recommend "Sachi" My wife and I originally had decided to visit a different restaurant. Due to circumstances we ended up at Sachi. To keep this review short, the atmosphere is comfortable. The waitress was accommodating. And Sachi (the owner and chef) was great. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy.“
“What a great dining experience! Family owned and you can feel the love and pride of ownership in each dish. We tried many things including gyoza, salmon skin roll, hamachi, mushroom miso soup (extra yum). Everything was good and the family were so nice. This is a traditional style Japanese restaurant so don’t come in asking for nobu style service. Learn the traditions and respect the service , then you will truly appreciate the dishes.“
“This place has become a Weho staple. I live down the street and am so happy they exist. The fried Brussel sprouts and spicy tuna over fried rice are a must. Service is super fast and friendly. If you’re looking for a bang for your buck sushi place in Weho, this is it!“
“Prepare to pay around 200$ per person for omakase. The food is great. You don't know what you're getting, the chef is choosing for you.The service is splendid, with Japanese attentiveness. If you're visiting from abroad, be prepared to be shocked by the secluded location of this restaurant beloved by celebrities.Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options.“
“10/10! I came here for a solo dinner on a weekday night. The servers were extremely attentive and friendly and made some great menu recommendations. The food came out quickly. I got the three item bento box, which was absolutely delicious and a great value, especially for the neighborhood. Definitely a hidden gem in West Hollywood - the neighborhood needs more of these types of local, friendly spots with amazing food and great prices. I can't wait to come back!“
“Sushi was amazing everything was fresh which is very important when trying to find good quality sushi i love the attentiveness of the staff very hands on i will definitely be back to try more rollsParking: You won't regret this place thank me later“
“Katana is One of my favorite place in LA. Been there sense 2008 and that's my first choice when I go back to Los Angeles. First time for my son there and he is a sushi lover. He loved the food and he loved that atmosphere there. Want to come back for sure ? Five star for sure“
“Are you kidding? Less than 4 stars?? This is not happening. This place has the best creamy sea urchin pasta. My second favorite is the mentaiko pasta. The consistency is amazing. Just the right amount of cream, sea urchin, fat, salt, sugar, acidity. What more can I say? You should really try this out.The lines were long during dinner time, so I recommend to check in through yelp and put your name on the waiting list. Other than that, 10/10!“
“Delicious food & drinks! The ambiance was great, with music and cool lighting. They offered a handful of vegan options, including veggie rolls, spicy edamame and veggie bap. We had a comfortable table, and the service was excellent. Can't wait to come back again!“
“The wait was very long. We didn't get seated until about 30 minutes after arriving on time for the reservation. The server was not attentive and the menu updates are not great. I usually can overlook the wait time when the food is food, but the new menu options are not stand out. The food is still good, but nothing to write home about.“
“Fourth time here, and this time was lovely. Came in on a nice rainy day and started with hot sake and edamame. Then the spicy tuna cut roll with light rice was very fresh. Then we had the salmon crunch roll, which is very perfect with the fried onions! Then some shrimp tempura with vegetables and though everything was cooked to perfection the tempura batter needed to be crispier. It was a little soggy, but other than that everything was delicious. Mochi green tea ice cream dessert was very good. One of the best places for sushi and very reasonable prices which is always a plus. Fresh ingredients and good prices! You can't beat it. Uri was our server and she's always wonderful! Thank you! We will definitely be back.“
