“I’m so gobsmacked at how amazing this food is that I’m writing a review while I’m still here.
We had 5 nigiri sushi rolls, the crispy spicy tuna appetizer, and the wagyu sliders. It was the most incredible meal I’ve ever had. You must come here - the server we had (Umida) was insanely amazing and super helpful - she really elevated the experience and made sure we didn’t order too much food!“

“First thing first, the sushi is really fresh. We got the toro, salmon belly, and the yellowtail belly. Saba is a little fishy. The rice is a bit mushy but good enough.

The cooked food is not as great. The agedashi tofu has too much breading and taste average. Kaiju tar tar is okayyy.

The service however took forever, and they never come to check up on us. Servers reach over to get dishes for other tables. Maybe they are short staffed but they should still handle us probably.“

“LOVED the service we have a beautiful waitress who was extremely helpful. The food was amazing we had edamame, spicy tune rice, 911 roll, and a spicy salmon roll and they were delicious I do with the wasabi was a bit spicier but that’s my only down everything else was amazing!“

“Absolutely fantastic handroll experience on Ventura Blvd. The nori was perfectly crisp, the rice was warm and seasoned just right, and the fish was incredibly fresh — you can tell they care about every detail. The toro and salmon handrolls were standouts. Service was attentive and friendly, with the chefs handing rolls over the counter right as they’re made so you get them at their peak. Cozy, intimate vibe that makes it perfect for a quick solo bite or a date night. Will definitely be back!“

“this place is awesome. i get the sean secret hand roll every time (baked crab, avocado, soy paper) and rotate between a couple of other rolls. this time i got the jay-lo roll and added fried onion. their fried onion is ridiculous, you have to give it a try! love kinza every time i’m out in sherman oaks.“

“Now it is Osumo Sushi- the food is still just as good as it when it was run by mostly Japanese people. Jose and the others were super nice. First time eating since the change of ownership in 2020. Did time go by that quickly?? lol

Have been eating here for 7 years now -it is our favorite go to place when we have friends or family visiting from out of town, or a celebration.
The staff has always given us something for free- sake, mochi, or an extra roll.
I dislike fish, but decided to give it a go here. I am hooked! Pun intended!

The food has always been fresh, and the prices are better than you would find at most places. It is never very crowded, except for Friday and Saturday nights.
Everyone we bring to Sumo Sushi- even from other countries say the food is better than average.

“Had an amazing experience at Shiso Sushi Sherman Oaks The sushi was extremely fresh, high quality, and beautifully prepared. You can really taste the quality of the fish in every bite.

The service was friendly, professional, and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was clean and relaxing. Everything we ordered came out fresh and delicious.

“So, my girlfriend and I hit up Zen Toro for her birthday, and let me tell you, it was fantastic. That edamame with the soy glaze? We were practically licking our fingers. The rolls were fresh, and we kept looking at each other after each bite like, “Yep, that’s good.” And the shishito peppers? Just the right amount of char and that sauce had us dipping them like there was no tomorrow. We enjoyed it so much that we’re already talking about when we’ll be back. It’s definitely a new favorite.“

Place was packed, of course it was a Friday night and the Lakers were playing, I recommend making s reservation.

“Fresh, healthy food w generous portions. I had the hana salad w chicken and the iced matcha cloud latte. The salad was fresh and their sauce/condiment bar made it extra tasty. The matcha was super yummy, on par or better with any specialty coffee/tea place. The Okinawa sugar made it elevated, though I ordered it less sweet. Will def be back!“

“Midori is my families second home. No, I’m not kidding. We’ve been coming here for 15 years now! I can’t even believe it’s been that long but you know you’re doing something right when you have loyal customers that just keep coming back. The food is always top notch, service can be slow at times but life’s not perfect, right?! Midori has such a special place in our hearts and we’ve made so many memories here over the years. We love the owner too! She’s super sweet and genuinely gets to know her regular customers, which I feel like is so rare these days. At this point, coming here is basically a family tradition.
