“Chef is super funny and chatty. He loves explaining details about the food. Strongly recommend arriving on time, be early rather than be late. Sushi pieces were excellent. Appetizer to start was a very interesting mix of items.Dining experience felt very intimate. Only our group and another group were there. Worth the cost. Do not let the external location fool you, it is a lovely experience, and the food is excellent.“
“Excellent sushi. Johana my server was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed.I had their salmon teriyaki a la carte, and a rainbow roll. The miso soup that I chose was fabulous and very flavourful and fresh. The salad even had a nice butterfly tomato, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The rainbow roll was a good size and everything has good portions, will be back for more. Steven the owner was very nice and obviously cares a great deal about his craft and his business.“
“This sushi restaurant serves the highest quality and most delicious sushi every time my wife and I eat here. The consistency of the taste and quality of the fish is easily a 10 out of 10. The staff is extremely friendly and the service is top notch. This is our number one go to sushi spot in all of LA hands down. We have tried many other highly rated and hyped sushi spots, as my wife is a major sushi afficionado, but this place is at the very top of the list for both of us. It is the measuring stick for all other restaurants. If you haven't eaten here you are doing yourself a disservice. You have to eat here, you won't regret.“
“Underwhelming with food & service & atmosphere. I remember this was the gold standard for sushi restaurants, but not anymore. Rolls were sloppily put together, falling apart before even grabbing them. Waiter did not come by after bringing the 1st round of sushi. We had to order thru another waitress who was waiting on other tables.“
“The staff is truly exceptional; even though I arrived roughly 20 minutes before closing, they processed my order and didn't pressure us to leave. They looked after my date and me. This is an excellent location to sample ramen. One of my favourite places is close by; I'd love to return! My mouth waters at the mere thought of it.“
“I've lived across the street for 10 years and the first time I came was during the pandemic and it was absolute garbage. The service was pretty terrible too. I was hungry for sushi last night and was walking my dog in the petco parking lot and decided to give makoto one more time and it did not disappoint!!! 10/10 highly recommend the white ninja roll. My order was to go so it came with a sauce they neatly and considerably wrapped in plastic to not spill. The spicy scallop hand roll was pretty great too. Definitely going to my new (only) neighborhood spot.“
“We wanted a quick lunch and we it was late in the afternoon and we decided that poke would be good, and this place was delightful. The fish was fresh and tasty. The kale noodles were wonderful and the pineapple smoothie with boba was amazing. If I get out that way again I'll go back“
“All you can eat sushi in the valley! BEST AYCE SUSHI IN THE VALLEY!!! This place right here is hands down the absolute bomb when it comes to all-you-can-eat sushi in the valley! The rolls they serve up are delicious, and the variety? Oh boy, you won't believe the options you have to choose from. It's like a sushi lover's paradise! Trust me, you won't be disappointed if you give this place a try. Enjoy!“
“The food is really very good, and I'm not the only one who thinks so as evidenced by the fact that the place is packed every time we walk through the door. They have a wide variety of Japanese food on the menu, in addition to the regular staples of a sushi bar. The best part is, it's really reasonably priced. I believe that they have other locations, as well. I highly recommend Cho Cho San.Thank you see you next time ??“
“I ventured with my wife for a very early Valentine's dinner recently. This sushi speak easy has been on my to do list for a long time and I'm pleased we were able to visit this location. The entire staff was amazing, you're definitely here to drop some bills but have a great time. You immediately feel welcomed in this cozy setting , there were only 6 of us for our seating and the staff knew all our names and the reason why we decided to spend the night for dinner to treat ourselves for omakase. We were invited to partake in some pre-dinner cocktails and canapes. The reservations will note this is optional. I strongly suggest attending this and mingling with the staff and your guests because you're going to spend probably at least 2 hours with these folks experiencing top quality sushi. I really enjoyed their spin on omakase and sushi. Of course you're getting really high quality ingredients here but the intentionality in every bite, the pacing of the night, and at least during our visit the banter between everyone made this experience extremely memorable. The flow of food is so well thought out and the chefs work as a team to tee up each bite. You can see them set up nigiri, 2-3 rounds ahead, and watching the process is absolutely mesmerizing. Each bite is well explained along with the ingredients, origin and processes of how each nigiri is built. The drinks options are also very appetizing they have options for whiskey flights, sake flights and can craft up some delicious cocktails and non alcoholic options. They also are very considerate of any dietary constraints. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my experience and would come back for a future special occasion.“
