I love Katsu-ya - I think I've probably been to most of the locations at this point. I took my friend to dinner and she had never been to a Katsu-ya - and while the Studio City location would've been closer, I know their parking situation sucks. So I made reservations for the Encino location.
I ordered my usual miso black cod entree - always delicious and such a bargain for the quality fish you're getting. My friend loved her meal too.

It was our first time here and overall it was a good experience! BUT the reason I had to only give 4 instead of 5 stars is the quality of the sushi that was very loosely made and literally fell apart each time we would try to eat one. Also, we ordered appetizers and were expecting them to be served at the beginning, but unfortunately it came much later than any other dish. The manager and waitress noticed that and apologized which we appreciated. Just trying to be fair and honest!...read full review
Giving this no place 3 stars overall. They have a 90 minute sit down policy; we ordered our last dish (for 6 people), and it came with 5 pieces. We asked for one more order so everyone can try it, and they said no. Too bad, will not come back for that.
