Underwhelming with food & service & atmosphere. I remember this was the gold standard for sushi restaurants, but not anymore. Rolls were sloppily put together, falling apart before even grabbing them. Waiter did not come by after bringing the 1st round of sushi. We had to order thru another waitress who was waiting on other tables.

Consistently excellent. Love all real Katsuya location.Be warned, Brentwood and Hollywood locations are under license agreement. Worse quality twice the price for no reason.Studio City, Topanga and Encino are excellent + little Izakaya on Sepulveda all original Katsuya.

I called last week to order a to go order and again not too long ago. Both times they said they're too busy to take orders. I asked when I can call to actually eat at their establishment and her response was "I don't know, sorry." Just very frustrating. The point of a restaurant ISSS to be busy, it's a good thing. I called last week Sunday around dinner time and today, Sunday at around 12:45pm, two completely different times. Oh well. Trying to give them my business but they're refusing...

The waitress was very amiable and efficient at the beginning. The food was delivered by someone else (a large, heavy set male) who was not gracious and simply tossed the plates upon the table. The food was delicious. Clearing the table stopped midway through the meal. We were advised the restaurant was closing soon, resulting in us feeling rushed to finish. Then, we had to sit quite a while with dirty dishes on our table while we awaited the check (delivered by the same ungracious waiter). Then, we saw our waitress eating at the sushi bar. Finally, the check was picked up, and, after another while with dirty dishes, our change was delivered by the receptionist/cashier. Ali thought the food was delicious, we are very unhappy with the service and we will probably never return.

Waited for 20 minutes to get seated. Horrible service. Super rude people in the front. Like why do we reserve tables if we need to wait??? So annoying. My kids were starving and they just didn't seem to care Only good thing and their luck is the food is bomb.

I'm very sorry to see my favorite Sushi Place being managed by to the ground.I'm a customer for past 20 years never seen such a bad experience.The manager is so rude and bad attitude also the staff. Not all of them, it's so sad
I'm a local customer for more than 17 years at this location, I have always got good service and fantastic food. Unfortunately this time I got terrible service and a bad experience...our waitress was so rude and the picture shows how badly they brought out my dessert compared to how they usually do it.

This is my favorite whenever im in LA! Never been to the Encino one before but was pleased to see the same menu and same great service- I recommend the crunchy rice tuna, popcorn shrimp, albacore tuna sashimi, and whatever your norms are for sushi- the fish is always fresh and delicious!

This place is extremely accommodating to those with Gluten allergies. We felt well taken care of and the staff even changed menu items to accommodate for us. The food was fantastic, there’s a good reason it’s one of the best in the Valley!
