“Pretty much everything it is always the best and freshest fish in town! The best oysters on the half shell, Uni, yellowtail belly, the seafood salad is really delicious, (as well as their salmon skin salad)! Another favorite is the ELhand roll (it’s almost a meal in itself)! You really cannot go wrong with anything you order there! Five stars for sure!“

“This place is so good I went twice in the same week! Every piece was so perfect and it was the perfect amount of food. Of all the places I've been for omakase in LA I'd say this is the best bang for your buck especially if you go for lunch during the weekdays. You won't be disappointed. It's located in Weller Court and many folks go to sushi gen and other spots but this place is so fresh and the service is wonderful. Also very quiet inside.“

“First thing first, the sushi is really fresh. We got the toro, salmon belly, and the yellowtail belly. Saba is a little fishy. The rice is a bit mushy but good enough.

The cooked food is not as great. The agedashi tofu has too much breading and taste average. Kaiju tar tar is okayyy.

The service however took forever, and they never come to check up on us. Servers reach over to get dishes for other tables. Maybe they are short staffed but they should still handle us probably.“

Suggestion: your food runners should take 15 seconds longer to slow down and clearly state what they are bringing to the table and conclude by asking us if we have any questions or if we need anything else. I started with the tuna sampler, which was beautifully presented and offered several different cuts and preparations of tuna. Each one had its own distinct flavor and texture, and the quality of the fish really stood out. It was a great way to sample the restaurant’s sushi and a perfect start to lunch.

The highlight, though, was the spicy tuna crispy rice. The rice was crisp and golden on the outside without being overly hard or greasy, while the spicy tuna was fresh, flavorful, and nicely balanced. It had just enough heat without overpowering the fish. I’d even dare to say Sushi Yuzu’s spicy tuna crispy rice was better than Katsuya’s, which is a very high bar.

The food felt refined without being fussy, and the quality made a casual lunch feel special. Sushi Yuzu is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy fresh sushi, especially tuna. I’ll absolutely be returning to try more of the menu.“
