The restaurant serves high-quality, fresh sushi and a wide selection of rolls, including veg tempura options. The quality of fish is incredibly stellar, with rich salmon, crisp yellowtail, and sweet shrimp that is memorable. The chef fries the head of the sweet shrimp, and the thickness of the fish is spot on. The fried food items are tasty, and paying more for the prime selection of sashimi is worth the price.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly, outgoing staff who are very knowledgeable about the menu. The food is excellent, offering great prices for the quality and taste. Kailua signature roll is a must-try, and the Japanese beer is delicious. The vibe and positive energy of all the workers make it a very pleasant place to be. The restaurant has a locals vibe, and the service is friendly and professional. The sushi rolls are fresh and on point, making it highly recommended for both locals and visitors alike.
Parking can be limited, and street parking may be hard to find due to busy streets nearby. Despite this, Kaiju Sushi remains a favorite spot for sushi lovers, with fresh options and helpful service. The music level can be a bit loud, but the great food and inviting atmosphere make it a place worth visiting again. It is also a great place for a date or a casual meal with friends.
