Imagine going to a nice Mexican restaurant and seeing an all Japanese kitchen? Anyways, the sushi quality is good, not great. My moms favorite is the miso cod which costs double in Century City. I was told Katsuya is an independent chain and it's up to the owners the price they set“

“Hidden gem doesn't even begin to describe To Die For Sushi. Nestled in a humble space in Northridge, this place is so unassuming you might walk right past it--but don't. Because once you walk in and sit at the bar, you'll realize you've discovered one of the best sushi experiences in all of Los Angeles.

Chef Danny is a true artist. We had front-row seats to his craft and were mesmerized watching him turn simple ingredients into edible masterpieces. Every slice, every plate--pure precision and passion.

We shared a bento box with mixed tempura, mixed sushi, and sashimi, and were blown away by the variety and balance. The Heart Attack (fried jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and topped with spicy tuna) was absolute fire--bold, indulgent, and perfectly crispy.

The Toro and salmon were melt-in-your-mouth perfection--fresh, buttery, and honestly some of the best I've had anywhere in L.A.

Our server, Samantha, was fantastic--warm, attentive, and clearly knew the menu well. She made great recommendations and timed everything perfectly.

This place is a sushi lover's dream, without the pretense or the inflated prices of trendy spots. The prices are really affordable and the quality top notch. I have paid a lot more for so much less elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar--watch the magic happen, savor every bite, and thank me later.

“Went in with the family for a late dinner and had a pleasant time. You can opt for an AYCE option or a la carte. The AYCE menu is broken into 3 pricing options (similar to K-BBQ A,B,C) with each option building on what the previous one offers. We went with the Regular option which has plenty of apps, rolls and nigiri to choose from. Loved the fact that all the servers played a roll in checking in on the tables. Although it was 9pm and packed we never had to wait to place our next order in. For an AYCE Sushi spot, this place had good quality offerings and service.“

“A few days ago, I was trying to decide where to eat and ended up at Kopan Sushi & Ramen. Looking back, it was one of the better dining decisions I’ve made recently. Some restaurants have great reviews but fail to live up to the hype. This was not one of them.

I started with a few sushi rolls and immediately noticed how fresh everything tasted. The fish was high quality, the portions were generous, and the ingredients worked together perfectly. Nothing felt overly complicated or designed just for appearance. It was simply good sushi made with care.

Then came the ramen, which completely stole the show. The broth was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor without being overwhelming. Every ingredient felt like it belonged in the bowl, and the noodles had exactly the right texture. It was the kind of meal that makes you slow down and enjoy every bite instead of rushing through it.

The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere that made the entire experience even better. Families, couples, and groups of friends all seemed comfortable there. Even during a busy period, the staff stayed professional, friendly, and attentive. It’s always nice to see a restaurant that manages to stay organized while still making guests feel appreciated.

What stood out most to me was the value. In a city where dining out can become expensive very quickly, Kopan Sushi & Ramen offers quality that feels worth every dollar. You leave feeling satisfied rather than wondering whether the meal justified the price.

There are many places serving sushi and ramen in Southern California, but not all of them leave a lasting impression. Kopan did. Great food, excellent service, generous portions, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back. I’ll definitely be returning, and next time I’ll be bringing friends with me.“
