“I had an absolutely wonderful time dining here. The food was consistently fresh and beautifully presented.
Every roll I tried was prepared with such care. I particularly loved the vibrant colors of the sushi, especially the beautiful orange slices of lemon resting right on top of the rolls. Everything tasted just as good as it looked.
This place is a real gem in North Hollywood. I will definitely be back again soon.“

“it’s my first time at roll roll sushi and I was offered a free miso soup as soon as I walked in I ordered the salmon lover roll and the baked scallop roll and both were delicious. I had my dog with me so we sat outside under cute umbrellas they have out. I’m so happy I decided to try this place out if you’re in the valley you need to give it a try!“

“Pretty much everything it is always the best and freshest fish in town! The best oysters on the half shell, Uni, yellowtail belly, the seafood salad is really delicious, (as well as their salmon skin salad)! Another favorite is the ELhand roll (it’s almost a meal in itself)! You really cannot go wrong with anything you order there! Five stars for sure!“

“Masa-san serves chef's choice, and the food is fresh and delicious. Eating here is an extremely delightful experience. The sweet shrimp with eggs is one of my favorites. Always finish your meal with at least 1 (maybe 2 or ...) of his blue crab rolls. The crab is carefully hand-pulled, the rice is warm, and the seaweed is crisp. You won't find that combination of quality and easy dining experience anywhere else in the Valley. Please try it!“

“When I visit my mom in the valley, she enjoys going to Katsuya for lunch. I always have a smile seeing only Latinos making sushi behind the counter. Imagine going to a nice Mexican restaurant and seeing an all Japanese kitchen? Anyways, the sushi quality is good, not great. My moms favorite is the miso cod which costs double in Century City. I was told Katsuya is an independent chain and it's up to the owners the price they set“

“Easily my new favorite sushi spot in the 818. I only started coming here recently, but every single time it’s been a 10/10 🔥🔥 The sushi is always fresh, you can really taste the quality. The customer service is one of the best parts too everyone’s super friendly, welcoming, and always takes care of you ! The vibe is great, the hospitality never misses, and it’s one of those spots you keep wanting to come back to. Definitely recommend checking it out“
“Our new go to sushi place. First time eating at this place and we were blown away how delicious everything we ordered. We got 2 bento boxes (salmon and beef) tonkatsu ramen (thick slices of chashu!!!) and 2 specialty rolls - Venus and Uranus. Wow!...we are planning to go back to complete the taste of this heavenly solar system.
To top it off, staff were awesome...KANPAI!“

“Here's a polished review in the style of a seasoned food critic:
There are very few restaurants that can maintain both excellence and consistency for more than two decades, and this remarkable sushi destination in Tarzana is one of those rare exceptions. For the past 26 years, they have quietly set the standard for what authentic Japanese hospitality and uncompromising quality should look like.
What immediately stands out is the unwavering commitment to the finest ingredients. Every piece of sushi and sashimi reflects exceptional freshness, precision, and respect for the product. Witnessing the tuna cutting on-site is a testament to their dedication to quality—something true sushi enthusiasts will genuinely appreciate. Every detail, from the knife work to the presentation, is executed with remarkable care.
A great restaurant is built by great people, and the chefs—Archy, Scott, Paul, and Saito—are true masters of their craft. Their experience, consistency, and passion are evident in every plate they prepare. Beyond their technical skill, they create an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and effortlessly professional.
What truly completes the experience is the hospitality. The service is warm, attentive, and sincere, making every visit feel like returning to a place that genuinely values its guests. It is this perfect harmony of extraordinary ingredients, meticulous craftsmanship, and heartfelt service that has allowed this restaurant to remain one of Tarzana's most treasured culinary gems for over a quarter of a century.
Without question, this is a well-deserved five-star establishment and a destination every serious sushi lover should experience.“

“Love Jo&Go Sushi. They saved me when we first moved to LA and while the house was being remodeled.
4 years later... it's still as good as first discovered. It's a neighborhood gem inside the Korean Greenland Mrkt, which btw, is also awesome.
Must try is the salmon bowl, the salmon slices are so tender and buttery... they give you a crazy amount of salmon over the rice and seriously it's enough to have a 2nd meal! One note about the bowl... I'm not a fan of drenching really good cooked rice with sauce, so I always order without the sauce. The rice is not sushi rice which makes it even more delicious... the rice is always perfectly cooked. You get a miso soup and a cute little container of pickled radish (delish). I would love to know where they source the fish... it's like being in Japan, it's so fresh.
I'll be catering with them soon and happy to update the review post order.
The kind woman who takes the order is so sweet and cute, always smiling...says hi and bye all the time.
If you're in the area, definitely give it a try for takeaway.“

“If you live in Stevenson Ranch or anywhere in the SCV and still think you need to drive over the hill for truly high-quality sushi, it’s time to discover Ananto Sushi.
This place is the definition of a hidden gem — although it probably won’t stay hidden for long.
What makes Ananto special isn’t flashy decor or a giant trendy dining room. The restaurant is small, simple, and understated. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. They focus on what actually matters: exceptional fish, consistency, and genuine hospitality.
Chef Tim is the real deal. Every cut of fish tastes carefully selected and expertly prepared, with the kind of precision and quality you normally expect from high-end Ventura Boulevard sushi spots — except here, you don’t have to waste time fighting 405 traffic to get it. The sushi is clean, balanced, fresh, and crafted with obvious skill and care.
What really stands out are the little details that serious sushi lovers notice immediately. Even the wasabi contains real pieces of wasabi instead of the typical bland paste most places serve. It’s touches like that that show Chef Tim truly cares about quality and authenticity in every part of the meal.
But what keeps people coming back over and over is the family atmosphere. Chef Tim and his wife make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The service is warm, welcoming, and personal in a way that’s becoming rare these days. You’re not just another table — you genuinely feel taken care of.
Another huge plus is the value. Ananto offers dinner specials, combo specials, fresh daily specials, and high-quality fish at prices that feel incredibly reasonable for the quality you’re getting. Whether you’re ordering nigiri, sashimi, specialty rolls, or one of their dinner combos, the consistency is always there.
The SCV has plenty of sushi spots, but very few places combine this level of fish quality, consistency, hospitality, and value. That’s why Ananto Sushi has quietly become one of the top sushi restaurants in Santa Clarita Valley for people who truly appreciate good sushi.
Stevenson Ranch residents are lucky to have this place nearby. Once word fully gets out, people are going to realize they no longer need to drive to Sherman Oaks, Studio City, or LA for premium sushi experiences.
Simple interior. Exceptional food. Family service. Consistent quality.
That’s exactly why people keep coming back — and why Ananto Sushi won’t stay hidden much longer.“

“I’m a little disappointed I barely heard about this place until recently because of social media. Had I known about it, I would have been coming here for years. Hands down the best sushi I’ve had in LA and Ventura county. The sushi was very fresh and everything we ordered was excellent. Oh and our sushi chef remembered everything we ordered just by showing him the list on my phone one time!!! Best way to put it, it was like a sexperience in our mouth. I will be back for sure.
Favorites included:

“Now it is Osumo Sushi- the food is still just as good as it when it was run by mostly Japanese people. Jose and the others were super nice. First time eating since the change of ownership in 2020. Did time go by that quickly?? lol
Have been eating here for 7 years now -it is our favorite go to place when we have friends or family visiting from out of town, or a celebration.
The staff has always given us something for free- sake, mochi, or an extra roll.
I dislike fish, but decided to give it a go here. I am hooked! Pun intended!
The food has always been fresh, and the prices are better than you would find at most places. It is never very crowded, except for Friday and Saturday nights.
Everyone we bring to Sumo Sushi- even from other countries say the food is better than average.
It's the best kept secret in the valley!“

“Tatsu Sushi is truly a cut above all other sushi places in LA. The kaiseki chirashi made by Chef Ike (ee-kay) is nothing short of ART. For ~$35, it absolutely destroys any other sushi restaurant in terms of value, taste, portion size, and presentation. FORGET Sugarfish or any other “elevated” sushi (Sushi Roku, etc)… and please trust me on this! This is a true small business that doesn’t pay for any extra overhead marketing or corporate stuff and the savings are clearly passed right to the customer. I’ve had sushi all over California and this is the absolute standout for me! My photos are evidence of the commitment to amazing consistency in presentation. If you’re looking for a sushi place in the Valley, take this as a sign that THIS IS IT!“

“Hidden gem doesn't even begin to describe To Die For Sushi. Nestled in a humble space in Northridge, this place is so unassuming you might walk right past it--but don't. Because once you walk in and sit at the bar, you'll realize you've discovered one of the best sushi experiences in all of Los Angeles.
Chef Danny is a true artist. We had front-row seats to his craft and were mesmerized watching him turn simple ingredients into edible masterpieces. Every slice, every plate--pure precision and passion.
We shared a bento box with mixed tempura, mixed sushi, and sashimi, and were blown away by the variety and balance. The Heart Attack (fried jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and topped with spicy tuna) was absolute fire--bold, indulgent, and perfectly crispy.
The Toro and salmon were melt-in-your-mouth perfection--fresh, buttery, and honestly some of the best I've had anywhere in L.A.
Our server, Samantha, was fantastic--warm, attentive, and clearly knew the menu well. She made great recommendations and timed everything perfectly.
This place is a sushi lover's dream, without the pretense or the inflated prices of trendy spots. The prices are really affordable and the quality top notch. I have paid a lot more for so much less elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar--watch the magic happen, savor every bite, and thank me later.

“Tried this spot for a quick sushi fix—overall it was just okay. It gets the job done if you’re in a hurry, but it’s not somewhere I’d go out of my way for. The sushi felt closer to room temperature than fresh and chilled, which took away from the experience.
That said, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Nothing terrible, just not very memorable. Good for convenience, but not a standout sushi spot.“
