This restaurant has the layout, and feel of Japanese restaurants from days gone by. However, at the same time, it's very modern and stylish.

I entered with my Mom, and we were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was very friendly and had a great personality. It turns out he was very knowledgeable as well. I ordered the Salmon Shioyaki Entree, and Mom ordered the Miso Marinated Black Cod Entree. The Entrees come with Soup & Salad. The salad was subtly flavorful. With the greens, vegetables, crunchy topping, and dressing combining to create a delicious starting salad. The Miso Soup was very flavorful, and well balanced. They were both wonderful ways to start a meal. My Salmon Shioyaki was incredible. The Shio (Salt), enhances the natural flavor of the Salmon, and helps in browning, and creating crispy tasty salmon skin. The flesh was firm, yet tender and flaky. Just a squeeze of lemon, and it was perfection exemplified. The accompaniments, and rice, along with the delicious mixed Vegetables made it a complete meal. I had a taste of the Miso Black Cod. The glazed Miso flavor was undeniable, as the Black Cod melted in my mouth, ending in deliciousness.

A Japanese meal embodies that the sum of all parts, equals the whole. The Entrees here are examples of that philosophy.

The prices here are well worth it, considering what you get. The whole staff here is very friendly. Our server helped make our dining experience fantastic. We hope to see him again. We will be back,“

Btw it’s actually Japanese food, but its remind me too when iam in Hawaii there lots of Okinawaian, wich is maybe food from Japanese and Hawaian then voila! This Ahipoki born. Maybe. Lol.“

“We walked up and weren't sure if the place was open, but luckily some other patrons walked up at the same time so we followed them in. So glad we did! This is one of those Chinese places that opened when Adam was a lad and hasn't changed its approach since. The carpet looked original (and therefore quite worn, but that is literally the only thing I would change if I bought the place. I'd pay the chef whatever they wanted to stay, keep the service staff, keep the decor, and above all else, keep the menu. Traditional Chinese-American restaurant menu (quite long but mostly just variations on the same dozen recipes, swapping out proteins), but extremely well executed. We are new residents of the Valley and we will be regulars here.“

“The food is really, REALLY good! If you ever see this food truck, it's worth the stop. I am from Alabama and crawfish are a big part of the culinary culture. Since moving to CA I haven't found anything super great in terms of a good Cajun boil. This is the CLOSEST thing that I've had to a good lower south boil. GOOD food and GREAT prices! “We've been to this A&W before several years ago (there are actually three locations in the SF valley) and decided to try it again for Chinese New Year. It was after 2pm when we arrived and they were still serving dim sum from carts though it was slim pickings at that late hour, so we also ordered from the menu. The menu is heavily seafood oriented, but there are many traditional Chinese items available. We got a fried rice dish, a garlic chicken, and string beans (my partner doesn't eat seafood). All the dishes including the few dim sum items were flavorful, maybe a bit on the oily and salty side, but decent. The dim sum looked like it was made on site. I, being raised on Chinese food, would say that the dishes were close to authentic. Portions were generous. This is an old school Chinese restaurant with older aunties serving you with friendly but bare minimum service. Don't be surprised by slightly sticky table coverings and missing condiments (we just grabbed soy sauce from the next table). If you want better food, go to the San Gabriel Valley, but that's a long drive for us. If you want better service or environment, go to PF Chang's but you won't get the authentic dim sum and seafood. A&W is a great option if you're seeking good Chinese food in the Valley.“

“Just one of the best ones, we ordered delivery quite often & dine there to. Staff friendly & helpful, as are the prices. Parking needs a little patience sometimes. Obviously we highly recommend it, we’ve been visiting there for quite a few years now.“

“The food was really good but the service needs improvement.Apparently there was only one person attending the booths in the bar area. It took quite a while to get the appetizer and as we began eating it , the main course was brought in which took away the enjoyment of the whole experience“
