“The Jolly Jug is one of those iconic places that can never be duplicated. The original Jolly Jug was in South El Monte in the 1930s and people came from all around to eat their famous Pastrami’s and Beef Dip sandwiches. Going into another century of their delicious food and cold beer, you can’t go wrong by making a pit stop here. In a world of hip restaurants trying to reinvent LA cuisine, the Jug is comfort food, done right. ❤️“

“Recently opened its door in the Temple City, Kim Hoa Hue Restaurant is the new culinary destination for Vietnamese cuisine lovers. Having moved to Temple City, it stands proudly across from Summer Roll, inviting diners to embark on a gastronomic journey to Vietnam’s former imperial capital.
The restaurant’s specialty, Bun Bo Hue, is a testament to the authentic flavors of Huế. This Vietnamese beef noodle soup, known for its spicy and robust taste, is served in a generous portion brimming with succulent meat. The rich and aromatic broth leaves a lingering warmth that is both comforting and invigorating.
For those eager to explore the breadth of Huế’s culinary landscape, the Hue Combo is a must-try. This dish is a culinary mosaic, showcasing the region’s famous noodle-based delights. It’s an ideal choice for newcomers and connoisseurs alike, offering a sample platter of Huế’s pride.
While the Bun didn’t quite meet expectations, it holds promise. A tweak in noodle texture to achieve that coveted al dente bite, paired with a more traditional Vietnamese egg roll, could elevate this dish to new heights.
The Pho presents a soulful broth that sings with depth and clarity. However, the noodles yearn for a bit more finesse to match the soup’s excellence.
Service at Kim Hoa Hue is attentive and earnest, although a broader grasp of English would enhance the overall experience. For now, Google Translate bridges the communication gap, adding a touch of modernity to the dining experience.
The ambiance is as fresh as the flavors, with a bright and contemporary setting that promises growth and refinement. Kim Hoa Hue Restaurant is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, offering a slice of Huế’s regal cuisine with every dish. With a few culinary tweaks, this establishment is poised to become a cornerstone of the local food scene.“

“You know that scene in Ratatouille where the food critic tries the ratatouille and gets transported back to the time when he was a kid and his mom made it for him? That was how I felt when I tried the nasi goreng. I grew up near Singkawang and this is exactly what I ate as a kid. If you want to know what Indonesian food is like, go here.“

“Love this place. Close to home and it's delicious. Always get chicken cheese verde enchiladas with beans and rice. The green are best and the red enchiladas are just as delicious. With a Mexican coke tab comes out to about $21 bucks. For delicious food I don't mind. Service is no complaints and is fine. The atmosphere is quiet, peaceful, I usually can read a book and not be bothered or interrupted.
Parking: Parking is west of the restaurant, can pull in off Valley, or from the Alley on the West Street of restaurant that runs north and south of the restaurant.“

“Came here pretty much when they opened for the day, there was already some people inside for a Saturday. When we finished eating, the restaurant was barely half full?
Food wise, the bbq meats are pretty decent cuts for what you pay for and the big shrimp we ordered is actually pretty good. They didn't have a real fishy smell, which is a plus, knowing some places just serve what they have sitting out.
There is a sauce bar with appetizers near the front of the restaurant, the bar itself is already baked into the price, there isn't any extra fee. There is also a self serve sherbet freezer with three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and rainbow, as of writing this.
For the non grill foods, the soup and cold noodles are decently portion, definitely should split it up with others so you don't overfill. The popcorn chicken can be ordered as a half order, and to my surprise, it actually is pretty decent in terms of texture and juiciness, only downside is I wish they used some spice in the coating to give it a bit more oomph.
Overall, if I am ever in the area here, I might consider coming back when I'm looking for AYCE.“

“Our new go-to spot. Recommend The wet burrito with asada and chorizo its fire! No really that green sauce is spicy! The cabeza and asada meats are really good here and the asada is real asada ,not that weird chopped up meat other spots be selling as asada. Prices are good and the comida doesn't disappoint. We haven't tried anything bad here yet. The frijoles are tasty as fuhhh, you can always tell a good spot by their frijoles and the bean and cheese burros are pretty damn good. Good service too! They stay busy here. They close at 630pm daily and they are closed on mondays.... man o man I think ima go hit up El taco man right now!“

“Love love love the cucadachaShrimp ....I'm sure I misspelled but all their shrimp are bomb and shrimp cocktails as well. My only complaint is Please UPDATE your online menu .....I ordered for my company and WOW we went off of the listed prices on menu on websiteDefinitely not updated , and increased by 2 to 3 dollars , I understand things are going up but then I as a customer should be able to count on the business to keep me updated on NEW PRICES , because your food is delicious ? people will still pay but kinda unfair to have that surprise when u get the final bill and it's 50 bucks more then calculated from online prices .Just a friendly suggestion, I love to refer people . Also small tacos not worth the price at all“

“Will definitely come back here.
I had the nachos - with half cabeza (cooked perfectly) and half al pastor (nice slight spice to it). The burritos and tacos also looked amazing, will try next time.
The customer service was great. They made sure i had enough salsa and sides of pickled onions/carrots.
They have a parking lot and plenty of street parking.“

“Another reviewer mentioned that recently the menudo was tasteless. Too elaborate, I felt the broth was bland, which was good and bad. Good in that it was not over salted. Bad in that it did lack some flavor and definitely no spice. I had to add a lot more red pepper flakes than normal. But the chunks of meat were well cooked. Still good overall.“

“The outside of the restaurant looks kinda janky, but man, this restaurant is amazing. The food, in addition to being incredibly cheap, is also so so delicious and has very large portions to boot. From what I saw, the meals were only around $13 and the drinks $4.00. The people who work there are also very kind and welcoming.“

“This is definitely one of those hidden gems. Had a crazy work day running around when I decided to pull in and just have a nice little lunch. Boy did they deliver. One of the best wet burritos I've ever had. The Al Pastor was marinated and cooked to perfection with the wonderful green sauce having a playful kick (not too hot but not boring). The mix of flavors worked wonderfully leaving me very full and very satisfied. Wonderful little place with friendly service and sad that it's so far from where I actually live. Highly recommend“

“Cash ONLY spot. But it's worth it to carry around cash. Juicy flamebroiled burgers. Crispy fries. They have a lot of food options. Fast amd friendly service. Fresh ingredients. You can also get chili cheese fries with your combo. The best chili cheese fries I've had in a long time. Paid $35 for 2 double cheeseburger combos with chili cheese fries and drinks.
Parking: Few parking spots in front, but it's located in a small shopping center with extra parking. It reminds me of the old car hop burger spots because the parking is right in front of the outside order window.“

“This is one of those local gem mom and pop restaurants that everyone loves. Great sandwiches, great onion rings and good prices. The restaurant itself it a little dated and the owners say very little, but the food speaks for itself. I've been coming here since I was a kid and will continue coming until I no longer can.
Parking: Free parking but limited parking spaces.“

“My go to place for Dim Sum on my commute home from SGV to Orange County. They got your fan favs and the prices are somewhat reasonable - compared to some LA Chinatown spots, $5 per dish seems a bit high. Their food taste great so I really can't complain. Place looks clean inside but it can be hot and stifling during the summer. No dine in, strictly togo.“

“Make sure you bring cash, trust me its worth the hassle. I'm an uber driver and I love trying Chinese take out places all over Southern CA, and this is the best by a lot, and for many reasons. Sadly I live in the oc, but I'll be praying my work brings me this way as often as possible! They have my favorite dish, eggplant and they make it very well. Now I want to try their other items too. 5 stars.“
