“We had a large party dining here and they were very accommodating for such a large crowd. The service was fine and the dishes were excellent. Unlike other Chinese food restaurants that taste as though the same sauce is used on all of the dishes, Here the sauces were varied and delicious. The portions were large and everyone enjoyed their meal. I never saw the final bill so I can't comment on bang for your buck.

“What can I say about this place. I've been coming here since about 1997. It's a Rosemead original location. The owners are always there and happy to see a familiar face and serve their loyal customers. Steak and eggs are a go to for me.“

“I will leave a very honest review here. The owners are extremely generous and this is the most authentic Chengdu / Szechuan food I’ve ever had. Do not be fooled by other restaurants fancy decor, some other restaurant tastes are bland and not authentic. If you want great portions, AUTHENTIC tasting Szechuan food, come here ASAP. I highly recommend the 辣子鸡 (spicy crispy chicken) sometimes regarded as the best in SGV. You can also ask the owners for off menu items to surprise your taste buds if you’re down for a flavor adventure. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND.“

“Came here on a Tuesday for lunch with my parents. It was a bit busy, but the wait was under 10 minutes, which wasn’t bad at all.

We ordered the usual dim sum staples and added one special item, the imperial cold chicken. That dish was the standout. Super flavorful, tender, and honestly the highlight of the meal. Everything else we ordered was solid and hit the spot. The food overall was really good.

Ambiance is exactly what you’d expect from a classic Chinese restaurant. Loud, busy, and energetic. You can still hold a conversation, but you’ll need to raise your voice a bit.

Now the downside. Service was lacking. We had to refill our own teapot and grab our own to-go boxes. No real attentiveness, and compared to other dim sum spots nearby, the service here falls short.

Parking is convenient. They have a small free lot plus free street parking, which is always a plus.

Would I come back? If someone else suggested it, sure. The food is excellent, but the service definitely needs improvement.“

The salted chicken rice was ok, nothing g to rave about. Hope they serve with more chicken.

“You can’t go wrong with a bowl of ramen from Shin-Sen-Gumi. I’ve been coming here for years and it still hits. I always get the Hakata Red w/ corn (no bean sprouts). The chashu slices are hidden, but they’re in there. Great customer service as well!“

“Saw Big E's on Instagram and decided to make the trip. I grab two of the daily double cheeseburgers for $3.99 and a side of fries. Man man man... Those burgers were so freakin juicy...I pulled one out of the bag and it leaked on my phone and I wasn't even mad!😂 I knew this was about to be good and boy was it. I spent about $13 and it was all worth the trip, the food, and the price. Considering what you would spend at In and Out for something like that... Big E you can have my money every week! Seen a lot of older customers who seem like regulars by the way they were interacting with the waiters & waitresses. The prices were very reasonable. “Please make more vegan bún bì chả giò and vegan bánh cuốn chả because nearly every time we went there to buy these favorite dishes, there were none left. Please be aware that nowaday there are many vegans.“

“Consistently the best roast duck (not to be confused with Peking duck) even in SGV (San Gabriel Valley). Always juicy, tender, and amazingly tasty. We only take out from this store, but we do it regularly. I have no idea what the service is like or the physical plant, as my wife is always the one to go in to get the duck. Oh, the chicken chow fun dry is also consistently tasty, generous, with tender pieces of chicken. I don't know if chicken chow fun is even on the menu. Most places only list beef chow fun, but if you ask for chicken at Sam Woo, you get a very tasty dish.“

“I tried this place because my friend recommended it. When I walked in, I was welcomed by the flavorful smell of the broth. I ordered the rice cake with egg, the beef sauté sauce with rice noodles, and the fish ball seaweed noodle with thick egg noodles. Personally, I really liked the fish ball noodles, especially after adding their in-house garlic chili oil. The beef sauté noodle sauce was on the heavier side and very peanutty. The rice cake was a little too soft for my liking, but it was still pretty good.“

“Came here for lunch with family and it was busy inside when we went. The store isn't that big and there aren't that many tables so it's a more homey style place. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long for table.

We ordered the French Style Stir Fry Beef, Pea Shoots, Honey Garlic Pork Chop, Fried Egg Tofu w/ Mushrooms and Veggies, and Braised Pork w/ Aged Vegetables. We also ordered the Honey Lemon Iced Tea because it only costs $2.50 for a very large cup and comes with refills! So worth!

The dishes didn't take too long to be served and comes with white rice for free. We liked all the dishes except the Braised Pork because it was tough to chew and a bit dry. The other dishes were all very good, seasoned well, and not salty. They tasted very good with some rice. The Pork Chop w/ Honey Garlic sauce was better than I expected since it is fried and tasted great with the sauce. The portions were also pretty big for the price which is hard to see these days. These dishes also tasted like authentic Guangdong food. Will be coming back again for sure!“

Not only did she remember us from last time, she once again had the sweetest, kindest personality by any server any of us can ever remember! No exaggeration, she made every one of us feel SO welcomed that she instantly had us all in a better mood within minutes! She was attentive, easy going, funny, and made what would have been an average meal, an EXCEPTIONAL one! There's no question that good service is few and far between these days, and Elizabeth not only met our (high) expectations - she absolutely EXCEEDED them in every possible way!
