“This is honestly in my top two favorite pizza spots in all of Los Angeles, if not my top favorite. I usually go to the DTLA location, but this was my first time at the San Marino one. This neighborhood location is a lot prettier than DTLA with much easier free street parking right in front. The staff is friendly at both locations and everything is usually available very quickly. I’ve never had to wait longer than 15 minutes.

For this most recent visit I had to stop in on Sunday for their specialty which is the Mac & Cheese Pizza. It really hits the spot when you’re craving and honestly every single variant I’ve had here is great. One of my favorite parts is that you can order a whole pie or a slice in pretty much any version and they really do a great job with quality control and taste. I also love how huge the slices are. This location is more set up to go, they do have places to sit and eat inside, but it’s definitely designed more as a to go. I would highly recommend and really wish they would open a third location on the west side close to where I live.“

“If you haven't been to the The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens for a while... you may not realize they now and growing have 5 different locations to eat within the gardens. Noodle house in the Chinese Gardens, Tea house and patio Cafe in the Rose Garden area. Tea Room now allows you to make reservations on Open Table. Cafe 1919 has a great variety including the Border Grill, Sushi and much more. ... Its all a great compliment to the Fine Art ,gardens ,research and events.... Not a member - The Red Car Cafe and 1919 Cafe are towards the entrance and can be enjoyed by the without entrance fee to the gardens in a great relaxing setting .“

“After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. Their expertise is off the charts, and I highly recommend.“

“Villa's Tacos were amazing! and I'm not saying this just because of the hype of the Super Bowl. I'm saying this because I mean it. The tacos were just amazing to me. Not your regular everywhere tacos. These tacos were homemade recipes. I had the carne asada, pork with potato (puerco con papa) & beans with cactus (frijoles con nopal). It's a week later that I tried these tacos and I can't stop talking about them. My favorite was the beans with cactus. Soooo good. Also, the atmosphere was just so nice and lively. Minced Pork (Lu-Rou) Rice, fully loaded delicious stewed pork with egg. Meats are juicy and tender, kinda on the sweet side. Clamshell bun (Gua Bao) comes with tender thick cut pork, a bit on the salty side, but very well cooked. Fatty but not greasy. Thousand layer pancake with egg and basil was crispy and flaky. The basil flavor is a wonderful addition. Scallion bread sandwich was what we expected. Same tender thick cut pork, very happy to eat this. Next time I will probably get the beef, too much pork belly today Wonton soup is very classic, if you like shrimp wontons, you have to try this. We ended the meal with Hakka mochi and Oolong tea, the mochi tasted just like the ones in Taiwan. The tea was fragrant and is just the perfect compliment to the mochi. Overall an amazing meal with warm and friendly people, highly recommend!“

“Such a great experience! I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect walking into Bike Shed since I’m not really part of the motorcycle scene and thought I might feel a little out of place, but I was completely wrong.

The tall tattooed bartender working the bar was amazing. He was super welcoming, friendly, and genuinely made me feel comfortable right away. He took the time to explain the drinks, made great recommendations, and had such an easygoing personality that made the whole place feel way less intimidating.

It’s rare that someone’s service actually changes how you feel about a place, but he definitely did. I came in a little nervous and left feeling like I’d absolutely come back. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and even better hospitality.“

“Walked here from corner of Sunset and Lilac. The tacos here never disappoint. They are always made to perfection. Down to the slice of onion with the mole taco, and the avocado on the Tinga. They always give perfect presentation and quality. We had a Jamaica and horchata.

I wish I had pictures, but I was in a rush. They do have complimentary sauces and bread. The portions are generous, and the agua fresca is made in-house.

“I got in pretty much as soon as they open, so I got the special opportunity to get to talk to Kristine. After a lovely conversation and delicious food, I left feeling so full and at peace. The tempura was crispy and airy, the rice was perfectly cooked, the fish in the sushi tasted fresh. I cannot recommend visiting here enough. I am sure it can get busy, as the place is small, but I think that is part of its charm: meeting with a group of strangers for a good meal and a moment of peace before heading back into the world.“

“This place has great Sichuan food! It has so many varieties of food to try and are all very good! We got the chongqing cold noodles that were very flavorful and numby! The favorite was the mapotofu that had very soft silky tofu with minced pork and a sauce you can smother rice with. We also got the local flavor lamb that had tons of veggies along with the soft tender lamb meat. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and delicious and the sliced potatoes with vinegar was very refreshing and had a nice soft crunch to it.

The staff were very nice and attentive and the place is very very popular and busy. The atmosphere is just like any mom n pop Chinese restaurant.

I've been here in the past and have enjoyed other dishes like the twice cooked pork, various dumplings, wonton in chili oil, dan dan noodles, cumin lamb/mutton & sliced beef & ox offal! The portions are always huge and sharable and great value!“

“The best spicy Chinese Food in OC/LA area hands down! They have been Michelin recommended for a reason. Their food has lots of depth of umami flavors with a good amount of spice with a refined touch. Their none spicy broths are especially good too. My faves are their dry pots, toothpick lambs, Qiao Jiao Beef. We also like their spicy ribs and boiled fish in chilli sauce, and Mao cai. Service is great too!“

This was my 3rd time and each time just keeps getting better; definitely the bigger the party, the better. We paid $225 for 4 pasta entrees, 3 appetizers, & 2 glasses of wine for a party of 6. I’ve learned to like my pastas al dente after having them here. The meatballs are banging, the wine-pairing was delightful. There was probably 20+ people ahead of me with multiple orders but it only took 25 minutes to get through since he's so efficient. It can be so amazingly rich and heavy for some folks but this is what you're coming for! A guilty pleasure ruminating in cheese, mayo and liquid butter and corn. I prefer the bowl over the cob since it's much easier to eat. I also recommend getting two at once so u don't have to wait in line again and it's so cheap. 100% recommend!“
