“The best spicy Chinese Food in OC/LA area hands down! They have been Michelin recommended for a reason. Their food has lots of depth of umami flavors with a good amount of spice with a refined touch. Their none spicy broths are especially good too. My faves are their dry pots, toothpick lambs, Qiao Jiao Beef. We also like their spicy ribs and boiled fish in chilli sauce, and Mao cai. Service is great too!“

“Wa is a lovely restaurant with excellent service and delicious sushi. My girlfriend and I come here pretty regularly and are always treated wonderfully by Hara, whose got an amazing memory. We come for date nights , work lunches, birthdays and especially when it’s raining and you need some udon. Reasonably priced, quaint ambience and now that the in n out fixed their parking, it’s easier to get to.“

“Free Spirited Bar is an absolute gem. It is incredibly refreshing to walk into a restaurant where the entire menu is vegan by default (they do offer an option to add halal chicken if desired), a total 180 from the usual experience of hunting for that one token plant-based option.
As a group with diverse dietary needs, we were blown away by how seamlessly accommodating they were. We ordered the Alfredo pasta with mushrooms, the marinara pasta, and the buttered scallops, finishing off with the Dirt Coupe mousse for dessert. Every single dish was amazing. The pasta is made in house, and most menu items are made from scratch. A special shout out goes to the gluten-free bread, it was so outstanding we completely forgot it was gluten-free.
It is a sober bar, they don't even have alcohol in their vanilla extract. However, their non-alcoholic cocktail list is extensive. We tried about eight different drinks among us, and each one featured incredibly unique flavor combinations and beautiful presentation.
The owners are so sweet and clearly understand dietary restrictions on a personal level. They took the time to patiently explain everything and made us feel completely at home. I don't live locally, but you can bet Free Spirited Bar will be my go-to spot anytime I’m in town!

“One of the BEST eating experiences I've ever had.
Not only had I never been here before,
But I had never tried Szechuan food.

I'm not local to this area, but my friends one day were raving about this place. We drove over 40 minutes to go here,
And honestly I didn't expect too much,
Just wanted to hang with the boys,
But once I took my first bite-
Wwwaaaaoooooowww. I was SO surprised at how unique and delicious this flavor was.

We ordered a lamb plate, where they served it with toothpicks, I'm uncertain of the name of the dish,
But my goodness. It was one of the best things I've eaten. I love spice, and this was spice in such a unique way that I had never had before. My lips were numb, not in an uncomfortable way, but in a truly exciting way as far as a food experience is.

We also got other plates,
But to me the clear stand out was the lamb dish with the toothpicks.

If this place was any closer,
I'd be paying rent there, eating there like 3 times a week 😂

The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating, attentive, and helpful.

Our dishes came with this lovely tea, and perfectly steamed rice.

It was such a satisfying experience all around that I had to write this review to support their business.

Now, I don't think I'll be able to eat Szechuan food anywhere else and honestly- I am not upset about that.

If you haven't tried this hidden gem,
It's with the trip out to experience it.

Parking is... Horrible honestly, the restaurant faces a busy street,
But even still,
It's absolutely worth going here.

Bring anyone who's like me and hasn't tried Szechuan before,
And they'll be just as happy with their experience as I was.

“This review is long overdue. I visited Alhambra several months ago and decided to eat at Xiang La Hui after weighing all of my dining options that evening. I'm glad I did because it was a great experience. Even after all of these months I'm still thinking about the food! Everything was hot, nicely plated, and tasted just right. Flavors were nicely balanced and entrees are sizable. I felt like I got my money's worth. The service was nice too. You feel welcomed as a customer and aren't rushed, which I appreciate.

If you live close to this restaurant, or are planning to visit or pass through Alhambra, then I recommend giving Xiang La Hui a try. I'd eat here more often if I could! I'll certainly go back someday.“

“Wanted to check this place out with my boyfriend. It was poppin on a Saturday night, which is a good sign. We got the house eggrolls, the Kobe syle beef pho and the Filet Mignon pho with the original noodle (you have an option for a fresh fatter noodle) Beyond delicious!!! The broth and meat was so flavorful
The service was very fast. I have a sensitive stomach so I probably should have avoided the egg rolls because I dont do well with certain oils and fried food but they were so freaking good. Definitely recommend this spot for amazing pho. The other dishes people were ordering that I was able to see looked really good too.“

“If you are in the San Gabriel Valley area you must stop here if you want amazing Sashimi. Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. Yum yum 🤤 ended with Kumamoto Oyster 🦪 it was so sweet like cotton candy in your mouth made me wanting more which I did order more. Lol 😂 The house hot Sake was good for a cold night paired so well with my amazing Sashimi! Great way to end my Friday night here! Thank you Chef!“

Food is tasty but can come out show during lunch or dinner rush. I like their pass around family style rolls meal option for ordering. “Came to You to pick up some Northern Chinese breads and wow, we devoured. The beef roll, green onion pancake, and sesame Chinese pancake (which was made fresh to order hence the 25 minute wait) were all so flavorful — I felt like I was back in my Nai Nai’s kitchen! The textures were perfect, especially the green onion pancake with its mochi-like pull. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu!“

“My wife and I shared a beef burrito, and the Carne Asada salad. The dressing to the salad was really tasty, and the steak was better prepared than a steak I had any fancy restaurant last weekend. The burrito was just simple goodness … not too fancy or over done. This is a family owned business that supports the community. Huge new york steak, charbroil grilled, great grill markings and charcoall taste, not overwhelming..10/5 The server asked me for the temp for the steak, i asked for medium, got medium. 👌 comes with chicken steak and a huge bone-in pork chop. A big portion of pasta. And veggies. All of it came home in a doggie bag, soooo good can't wait to find tasty ways to use the baccali triple at home. This place is all about quality, and value....the portion sizes will make your haw drop. Mom got the roasted hen with ha nan rice. I thought the roasted chicken was tender and juicy even though it looked dry, it didn't eat dry. The rice was well flavored but the rice was only lukewarm and kinda hard 3/5. Severs were fast and friendly...plus it's got tvs everywhere tuned to sporting events...mom was able to watch her

“Afters has been my favorite ice cream place ever since moving to Cali back in 2018. I've tried multiple flavors, but keep coming back to the Salty O's (as a milkshake, and often with some caramel thrown in). I've tried and enjoyed the Ube Brownie, cookie monster, dark matter brownie batter, and the milk & cereal.

All solid tasty options that I would get again. For a friend's bday 🎂 I plan on getting them an Afters ice cream cake.
