The kind of place only locals in the hood know about and frequent, far from the center of commerce, but quaint enough to be the epicenter of town. The food is super fresh. “Step into Mama Mae Ting's stall and you will be transported into an authentic Bangkok soi eatery (street stall). Somtam is fresh, crunchy and seasoned as spicy as you can handle; the BBQ chicken (gai yang) & BBQ pork (mu ping) are super savory and juicy (and conveniently served on sticks)..be sure to ask for sticky rice with that! Missed out on the kanomkrok but will save that treat for my next visit. Super arroy di mak-mak!“

“Ty of Thai Thyme is an exceptional host. After dinner, he's rokk the time to greet our party and give us insights as to visiting Thailand. He was very nice and hospitable. But I digress, the FOOD was phenomenal! We ordered the Tom Ka soup, chicken curry, shrimp fried rice, beef pad Thai, chicken satay, and Thai ice teas. Everything was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Authentic Thai spices and chile. We'll be going bab very soon!!!“

This place is delicious 😋 😍. I have 2 other favorite Thai restaurants I love and this is now one of them. We had the Beef salad, Pad See Ew woth chicken, and the Pinaple Curry with tofu.

“I am beyond happy to have revisited this delicious restaurant. I was in just in Los Angeles at the end of Aug/early Sept with my sister and we wanted to pass by here. This is a favorite and cherished location as our grandma lives up the hill in Telacu and as kids/teens we would frequent this restaurant a lot.

We were so hungry and it was so worth it.

“We tried this Thai restaurant for the first time, and our experience was amazing! The taste and quality of the food were excellent. Our favorite, the Tom Yum Soup, was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Spicy Basil Clams for the first time, and they were incredibly flavorful and mouthwatering. Overall, it’s a great restaurant if you enjoy authentic Thai food. “Rice Street Food was really tasty - everything was excellent! We had the sausage, egg rolls, and wings for appetizers, and for mains we had the Ancient Lad Thai Seafood, pineapple fried rice, and my son had the teriyaki chicken bowl. We finished with mango sticky rice for dessert. Everything hit the spot perfectly.

Only small thing was the owner took my cup for a water refill and never came back - we joked with him about it after. Wasn't a big deal at all, we just walked to the cooler and grabbed a soda lol. Will definitely be back!“

“We spent a long weekend in Pasadena and at first chose this Thai place because it was just 5min walking from our rental cottage. They greeted us so friendly and accommodated our requests for items on the side. Then, the next day we came back here because everything was so flavorful! My husband had the crispy sole fish special and I enjoyed the glass noodles with shrimp. Exquisite!

“I love that this is a small restaurant and have been ordering from here off and on for over 18 years. The majority of the dishes are tasty with good portions, which is why I continue coming back. My main issue over the years has been consistency, particularly with the amount of protein in some dishes. Portions of chicken, beef, or shrimp can sometimes be lacking compared with the other ingredients, unless you’re ordering one of the whole fish dishes.

I’ve ordered the papaya salad four times recently, each time hoping the previous experience was a fluke. While some moisture and sliminess can be normal, the papaya has repeatedly been excessively slimy and somewhat translucent. It still has some crunch, but lacks the fresh, crisp quality I expect. The fish sauce aroma also varies significantly, sometimes very pungent and other times much milder.

The red curry is delicious, but inconsistent. Sometimes it’s extremely thick and other times very watered down, without much of a middle consistency. It also contains an excessive amount of thinly sliced bamboo shoots, which can make up most of what you receive, with very little chicken or beef.

The shrimp dishes are tasty, but I do think the shrimp should be cleaned and deveined. That would make a noticeable difference in the preparation and overall quality.

On the positive side, the chicken satay is excellent—hot, delicious, and well prepared. The crab fried rice is also delicious and one of the dishes I really enjoy.

After more than 18 years of ordering here, I clearly enjoy their food and appreciate having a small local restaurant like this. The flavors and portions are generally good. I’d just like to see better consistency with freshness, preparation, and the amount of protein in certain dishes. Overall, still a solid 4 stars from a longtime customer.“

“Best Fried Rice and Pad See Ew in Arcadia and surroundings. My family and I, love this place because of the great flavor, the quality, size portions and the prices. Great after a bussy day, just order in and take it home to enjoy with the family. The staff is very nice, it looks like a family own restaurant. We came here with the red dinning book 📕. Got two entrees and an appetizer for 2 people, koi soi, tiger prawn curry and raw scallops. The koi soi is actually a pasta, so it was quite a surprise to me, there is no soup in the dish. The curry in the tiger prawn dish is full with prawn roe sauce, very rich.

“The best Thai food at the best prices in LA. They actually give a good portion here compared to most places around AND it tastes the best. They're also open late for us night owls. I love the curries here (the green and red are my favorite). I wish I could just eat curry and drink Thai iced tea EVERY day ^_^“

“This is the most authentic Thai restaurant in Los Angeles. Maybe even in all of SoCal. These people made the tastiest crispiest crunchiest mango fish I've ever had outside of Bangkok. Then they complimented us with a desert that was to die for! I cannot believe how good the food was here. Came for a business lunch and every person present was astounded at how great the food was. “I almost didn't stop today because the parking on the street was horrible but I called the restaurant and asked if they had other than street parking and the owner Jasmine who answered the call said yes!!
While she explained where it was at and before I could turn onto Orange Grove Ave she had already texted a small map on how to find thier parking lot :)

Jasmine was super nice and waited for me to park and invited me in through the back entrance.
I picked a table and she quickly had a cold glass of water and a menu for me to look at.

After a few minutes I was ready and ordered the Thai House Salad with Peanut Sauce & Tom Kah Soup with Chicken.

Out came the salad first and oops was it bigger than expected but oh so good, the peanut sauce was so yummy mixed wirh the salad it was so refreshing.

Next was the Tom Kah soup with Chicken, boling in the holder waiting for me to try. I had my first taste of the soup, it was hard to describe the flavors only because the soup was so good!!
The coconut was there but with the tomato added in, it took the flavor to a different level :) the chicken was so tender it almost melts in your mouth.... All I can say in my head was dang+ why didn't I come here sooner.
I finished both and was getting ready to pay
when something told be to try the Mango Sticky Rice normally I wouldn't eat dessert after lunch but soo glad I did..
Hands down one of the Best I have ever tasted yes I said that, but Jasmine said if you like it now come try it when the Thai Mangos are in Season it will blow your taste buds out of the water... LOL, She really didnt say that but that's how I translated what she said in my brain Hahahah!!

Overall my stop at Thaiger had great food, great conversation and a wonderful dinning experience.
I will definitely be back with the family soon!!!“

“My Wife & I tried this whole in the wall and were amazed by the amazing food served here. We’ve passed by this place so many times & we couldn’t believe what wonderful flavors are available here!

We tried the Spicy noodle dish with chicken which was tasty with a forgiving spice to it.

In addition, we tried the Tom Yum soup with veggies & tofu. This soup could win awards… The flavor was BOLD and exploding in that flavor.

“Finally got around to trying this little spot that opened up about a year and a half ago!
Ordered two Pad Thai and a Chicken Satay.
The Pad Thai was really tasty, And the server offered us a hot sauce that was SO GOOD! On top of the Pad Thai, it was even better. But the real star of the show was the chicken satay and peanut sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked, practically falling off of its skewer, tender and juicy and seasoning was on point!
A lot of people came in for order pickups, but I was surprised we were the only ones in the small dining room. Which was actually really nice on a busy Friday night everywhere else. Really glad we stopped in!“

“Great mom & pop Thai spot! We used to love President Thai, but it's better for big groups, not so good for small family meals. This is solid standard neighborhood Thai restaurant. Very understated, interior is run down, service can be slow when busy because it's family owned, not too many folks working or helping out. But the food is amazing, above par. Definitely want to support this place because President Thai and Banana Bay were not cutting it.“
