“Farmhouse kitchen is the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever had. On top of the food being great and delicious, the presentation makes you want to order everything from the menu. Chef Bo was so nice to come out to our table and all I can say is she was a very nice, young & talented person. She even made me a special dessert for my birthday. Thanks Bo❤️ I highly recommend this place if you want an authentic, excellent and delicious food. In addition, the place is so full of life. The decor is amazing! I can’t wait to go back and try some of the fancy drinks and dishes on the menu.“

“We ate at The Original Hoy-Ka Thai Noodle twice during our time in Hollywood, which should tell you how good it was. The food was consistently excellent, fresh, and full of flavor.
I went for the vegetarian version of their namesake Hoy-Ka noodle soup—wide rice noodles with tofu and mushrooms instead of chicken—and I seriously dreamed about it afterward. The broth had the right balance of spicy, sour, savory, and comforting, with noodles that held up perfectly. It was one of those bowls you keep thinking about long after you leave.
We also had the tofu drunken noodles and tofu R-Ka Prao, both ordered mild and without fish sauce or oyster sauce. Everything was spot on: flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made to order. The Ruam Mitr mixed-fruit dessert was a nice way to cool down at the end.
Parking on Sunset can be a little tricky, but they have valet parking in the back and it is tip-only. Do not let parking scare you off. We would happily eat here again on every trip to Hollywood.“

“Wanted to go to republique for brunch on the way to LACMA. Obviously there was a long wait around 10:30am and we were too hungry to wait. This was the nearest place that was open. Place was empty for breakfast (I assume it’s lunch/dinner that’s more popping) and very cute inside. My kid and I are now OBSESSED with their shrimp omelette - was so airy and light. The lady that was serving us - I assume the owner - was super lovely. Kid has been begging to go back every day since. They also have Thai iced tea, interesting drinks (something pink and milky that the kid enjoyed), and fancy cappuccino machine.“

“I came here on a rainy afternoon with no expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted so warmly. And then the food came.

You know that scene in Ratatouille at the end of the movie when the big food critic takes a bite and gets that flashback to his childhood? That warm, comforted, happy feeling? That’s exactly how this food made me feel.

It was hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite tasted like real family, home-cooked love not just restaurant food.

The service was incredible. The woman there packed up my leftovers for me (something even a lot of “nice” restaurants don’t do), opened the door when I left, and even offered to let me borrow an umbrella because it was still raining.

If you want authentic, family-style Thai food that makes you feel something, this is the spot.

“Step into Mama Mae Ting's stall and you will be transported into an authentic Bangkok soi eatery (street stall). Somtam is fresh, crunchy and seasoned as spicy as you can handle; the BBQ chicken (gai yang) & BBQ pork (mu ping) are super savory and juicy (and conveniently served on sticks)..be sure to ask for sticky rice with that! “My family loves coming here for dinner at least a few times a month. Lately though, they've been running out of white meat during dinner. I guess they sell out during the day. Next time we'll call in advance because we are creatures of habit and like to order the half white steamed and half fried, and are disappointed when we learn they are sold out again. “The grilled pork collar, the khao kha moo, is the dish that most regulars gravitate toward first, slow-cooked pork leg over rice with a dark, sweet braising sauce and a soft egg alongside, the kind of composed plate that operates at the intersection of comfort food and actual cooking. The fried pork skin served with a larb dipping sauce is the snack that arrived at the table first and was gone faster than anything else, the skin light and airy and the larb funky and herbaceous and the kind of thing that makes you understand why certain foods become obsessions. The pad see ew is the noodle dish most people know and want, and the version here is properly wok-charred with good smokiness in the flat rice noodles and a soy-egg combination that's been executed well rather than just thrown together. The papaya salad has a heat level that earns its reputation, bright and tart and genuinely spicy in a way that doesn't ease up. The mango sticky rice at the end is generous and properly made, the coconut milk soaked deep into the rice and the mango sweet and ripe in a way that seasonal sourcing makes possible.
The wine program here is notably good for a casual Thai restaurant, which is part of what makes the whole experience feel more considered than the room might suggest.“
