“Located in the open courtyard within the Hammer Museum, Lulu is a little oasis with a carefully and expertly curated menu. We had the halibut tostada and the spicy eggplant bahn mi, both on focaccia. These were delicious! I also got a N/A version of their blueberry fizz cocktail - extremely refreshing! The service was timely and efficient. The ambience, beautiful wares, the abundance of plants makes for the perfect spot for any typical sunny LA day!“

“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“

“Great place to eat! We had our breakfast here and it was really nice. In the evening we went here again to have a quick bite, the staff was so friendly, kept the place open after 9pm and shared their left over pastries for free. 10/10 recommend.“

“Really great quality food. From the tasty mushrooms in a perfect consistency sauce to the tender bistek. This place is a fun Filipino hot spot on Sawtelle! The Brussel sprouts, lumpia, pancit and adobo will fill you up! Portions are family style. Highly recommend!“

“We enjoyed a beautiful and delicious birthday brunch with my wife and mother in law. Food is beautifully presented and generous. Service was polite, friendly and prompt. The ambience was lively and fun, with a background soundtrack and decor that made you feel immersed. Have been to two of their locations, will continue to go back.
Parking: Street parking is metered and can be challenging. Just be patient.“

“I have dined at Meteora many times before and it's usually been excellent however the night that we went, the timing of the courses was notably off and delayed. The couple next to us got there right before and another couple 2 tables down got there after us and they were both 2 entire courses ahead of us. The entire meal lasted 3 hours due to this. There was plenty of staff - we saw staff constantly circulating so I have no idea what happened. When I said something, they were apologetic and offered us more drinks on the house, which I did appreciate, however, I really wasn't planning on such a long dining experience and disliked that we were essentially forgotten for the first half of our time there.“

“We visited Cara restaurant for my birthday, and it was such a lovely, cozy spot! The ambiance was perfect, and the staff were all very polite and attentive, which made our experience enjoyable. We started with the caramelized Brussels sprouts, oysters, and truffle fries. The oysters were incredibly fresh and definitely stood out, while the Brussels sprouts and truffle fries were decent, though nothing extraordinary. For drinks, we tried the Cactus and the Cali, and both were fantastic! We really enjoyed them. Our main course was the chicken shawarma. The flavor was okay, but we felt the presentation could have been better. Overall, Cara is a nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. We're looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes!“

“So it seems this place is seasonal in terms of food so I am unsure what’s something that stays on the menu. I got the turkey meatloaf, fries and deviled eggs. My friend got the loaded baked potato gnocchi (not pictured) and the broccolini. I will say I heard this place was really good so maybe this just wasn’t the best season to go, but the food was good but not overall memorable. Meatloaf was tender and moist and I enjoyed the tangy sauce but it wasn’t a wow factor to it. I would say the star was surprisingly the broccolini. It was amazingly flavorful. I really enjoyed it. The deviled eggs were really good too. Nice little kick to them. The gnocchi, though cooked well, didn’t really evoke a loaded baked potato. I would have been good to have some sort or acid or something with it, as it’s really rich as well. Overall it was good! Not great but solid. I am unsure if I would return unless I saw maybe something different on the menu I’d want to try. I’ll def keep track of their menu to see. A nice date night spot because the restaurant was very cute.“

“Absolutely unbelievable. Get anything and you can’t lose. Just make sure to ask for the lemonade. Was recommended by a local gallery owner and you will NOT be disappointed. That lemonade is so refreshing that it could receive King Tutankhamen.“

“Ambiance is exceptional!
The service was careful and attentive and the food is flavorful. For the price point I hesitate to recommend the chicken, and our pizza was a litttttle burnt but again the flavors are great. The Caesar salad really stood out for me. And I would definitely recommend this to a friend for an intimate dinner.“

They have a cafe and restaurant, both offering quality food and beverages and a full bar. The restaurant has comfortable seating options and the cafe offers outdoor seating. The service is friendly and attentive. You’ll definitely have a great time and a good meal!“

“Great atmosphere and wine list. However many of the dishes were a bit over rich/ light on flavor. And look, I know, don’t go to a fancy wine bar expecting value, but the price of many of the simple dishes (salads, simple pastas without meat) were above normal even for LA. Service was friendly but slow“

“Amazing food. Plate licking sauces, organic, locally sourced food. Korean fusion. Did I mention organic pickled everything. Enzyme rich food. Beyond healthy. Humble little hope in the wall run by a husband and wife team. Dude went to Korea to study with the most famous vegan nun chef in Korea. A must go to for anyone who loves food and especially loves fusion with organic and very well priced. He should charge Much more but they don’t.“

“The vibes at Wolfsglen are immaculate. Walking in feels like stepping into a trendy loft in DTLA, with every detail, from the ceiling to the chairs, and even the art, exuding quality and style. The atmosphere is both chic and comfortable, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.
As for the food—mouthwatering is an understatement. Every dish left me craving more, and even after leaving, I found myself imagining just one more bite. The flavors were incredibly well-balanced and satisfying. The staff? Lax yet attentive, striking the right balance between relaxed service and making sure you have everything you need.
I left Wolfsglen stuffed and overjoyed, thrilled to have discovered this gem. It’s definitely going to be a frequent spot for me, and one I’ll be recommending to all my friends. If you’re looking for a spot that delivers on atmosphere and flavor, this is it.“

“The food here is so good! The portions are also huge, my partner and I only ate half of what we got pretty much and were able to have the leftovers for brunch the following day ?, and it still schmacked after being microwaved! 5/5.
Decent service, it was a busy Saturday so it wasn’t anything to complain about ??
Atmosphere was great, washrooms were clean as well.
Only thing that sucked was finding parking, but we’re not from town, so parking could just be normal for locals?
Overall, you gotta try this place. The Vicky’s Breakfast is well balanced, the Pastrami was cooked perfectly and the roasted tomato and herb salad pairs with it so well to cut through that fat. The mushrooms were a sleeper in that plate ?? it was delicious! The chicken and waffles were great too, batter was light and crispy.“

“One of the best pastrami dipped sandwiches I have ever had. I would come eat here every chance I got while working on this side of town. Nice diner style restaurant. Has been here for years. It's a classic place(for me at least). Super friendly staff. Quick service. Why are you hear looking for anything else other than pastrami anything ?
Parking: This place is always full for lunch“

“Badmaash was so delicious. Whether you prefer traditional or modern takes on Indian cuisine, they knock it all out of the park. The Butter Chicken and freshly made Naan was perfect. The charred spicy broccolini from their fusion menu was also tasty. And the restaurant was extremely nice to provide us with a triad of desert options including an ice cream sandwich, coconut pudding and freshly made hot chai. Thank you to Mo & Alex for the excellent service. Can’t wait to return!“

“Second time visiting this location. 1st time it a To-Go order and decided to come back.
Both times you are greeted with a Smile and Welcoming attitude.
The staff is Super Friendly. I honestly experienced a Family gathering.
The waitress remember us from our To-Go order. Weeks have passed and even remembered where we sat to wait.
I ordered Señor Donn's Latino Heat. Maybe I didn't like because I even licked my plate. Very tasty with a little hit. The biscuit with thei Jelly, well, your mouth is in Heaven“

“Wish I could give ten stars. It’s rare to find a cozy spot that has friendly service, great cocktails, AND a good happy hour, PLUS fantastic music. What more could you want? Oh yeah, they also have tasty food specials for happy hour.
We got patatas bravas that were perfectly cooked, and Rose Margaritas (“Rosarita Margarita”), which were delicious.
Bonus items: 1) small patio outside: 2) great lighting and decor; 3) live music on some nights; 4) attentive service, without pretentiousness.
In summary: cozy as hell…just pop in!“

“One of the best meals I’ve ever had in LA. You can tell the chef loves what he does. The food tasted clean and fresh, and every dish was either wholly unique or an original take on simple dishes (a skin on roast chicken that isn’t greasy? Pork belly that’s crispy, yet melt in your mouth delicious? My partner hates pork belly and even he was impressed!) Our party of 4 ordered quite a bit of food and I found the portions to be perfect. I ordered the burger for dinner, and as a “best of list” skeptic, I can confirm they absolutely earned that spot, it was incredible.
The desserts sounded “LA fancy” (pretty to look at, sounds impressive, but mid in execution) and I was expecting heavy, especially with the ingredients listed, but they were the *exact opposite* - meticulously made, not overly sweet, and *light and delicate*. We got the panna cotta, the walnut tart, and the fried pie, and each one was a smash hit. The walnut tart was insane.
They accommodated my sister’s gluten allergy, and we never felt rushed or unwelcome. A new favorite for sure.
if you can’t decide what to order, get the burger!!“

“LA sirena meets tiki! They have themes during different months. I visited The Mermaid during July, so you know there is Christmas in July! There were many wonderfully spooky themed drinks with a LA sirena twist on your classic tiki drinks. The atmosphere is very chill and 80’s goth beats were playing.“

“It's rare when every plate you order is great but from the appetizer to salad to entree to cocktail to dessert --everything was delicious. The biscuits and ham were fantastic. The wedge salad had great flavor contrasts. I had the stroganoff which was fantastic, highly recommend it. My lady had the flat iron steak which was generous and had an excellent char. I had the rum drink where the surfer's go, and it was hard not to order another one!
If you're in Eagle Rock I definitely recommend dinner and drinks at Little Beast.“

“We have been going to Horses ever since they opened since it’s right in our neighborhood. The most friendly staff with a big shout out to Amanda. The most amazing craft cocktails and absolutely delicious food. I think we’ve almost tried everything on the menu and have not been disappointed once. Can be hard to get a reservation, but we usually get there at 5:15 and are able to sit at the bar with no problem.“
