“I've been going to Maria'a since I was a kid. My parents, when they arrived to the US from Mexico would go there and so did my aunts and uncles and cousins. Now I take my kids to eat there. The restaurant has always been the same with great quality food and great service. Maria's restaurant is a gem in the community and will hopefully be there for many more generations. Don't sleep on this place, give it a try.“

Every single item we tried, the BRISKET is 100/10, the sausage, the beans, the mac n cheese, everything on the menu is simply to lick your fingers. “My girlfriends and I were looking for a good brunch spot and ended up finding this hidden gem in Huntington Park. From the moment we saw the menu and photos, everything looked amazing — we honestly wanted to try everything! So we decided to order a few different dishes and share.

We ordered the chicken and waffles, a chilaquiles plate, and the French toast combo, and every dish was delicious.

The chicken and waffles were fantastic. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, served on top of a waffle that was just the right size. There was actually enough chicken for the three of us to share.

The French toast combo came with breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, and beef bacon. Everything was flavorful and again, the portion was generous enough for us all to enjoy.

But the star of the table for me was the chilaquiles. The tortillas were coated in a delicious sauce and mixed with eggs, creating the perfect balance — not too soggy and not too crunchy. They had just the right crispness. The dish was served with refried beans, queso seco, sour cream, and a spicy sauce on the side that added the perfect kick.

We truly enjoyed every bite of our brunch. This place is a hidden gem, and I will definitely be coming back!“

We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. The interior is aesthetically pleasing with a black and yellow color scheme throughout the establishment, coordinated seating areas for dining in, and simple yet impactful decor with the background story of Mr. Fries Man framed along the walls. The atmosphere was welcoming and extremely professional and the fries themselves were everything! I had the shrimp and steak fries and they were fresh and hot, the steak cut into perfect bite size bits, the shrimp cooked perfectly, and the sauce a delicate balance between sweet and savory to tie it altogether *chefs kiss*. Humble little hope in the wall run by a husband and wife team. Dude went to Korea to study with the most famous vegan nun chef in Korea. A must go to for anyone who loves food and especially loves fusion with organic and very well priced. He should charge Much more but they don’t.“

“I grew up in this area 68 years ago and now live out of State. My family has a nearby home. While visiting, we stumbled on the Heights and they are the bomb! 5 stars hands down! They have excellent sandwiches among other great dishes. The sandwich rolls are the most delicious crispy French bread you ever had! They don't skimp on the sandwich contents no matter which one you choose. Oscar provides outstanding counter service and even let's me change out a few ingredients at no additional charge! Ignore any line, this place is worth any wait.
I would post my sandwich but it was so good I already finished it.“
