“Stealing a phrase from their menu here, but Belle’s bagels is the epitome of “Newish & Jewish” deli classics. Their bagels on their own (judged by eating them without any CC or toppings) are wonderful and I much prefer them over the bagels from Courage, Layla, and Jyan Isaac. They have all the usual suspects (poppy, plain, onion, everything, sesame, salt) and what I’ll call a zeitgeist spin on a typical Asiago bagel: the cacio e pepe. I ordered an assortment of bagels to-go but also had an egg & cheese on the cacio e pepe at the bar counter. It was unbelievably good and such a unique flavor - the crushed peppercorns were the perfect touch. The bagel was perfectly chewy and soft, which paired so well with the velvety eggs and oozing melted cheese. Sitting at the counter felt like I was being served little slice of Jewish deli nostalgia. I also tried one of the black and white cookies to-go and was pleasantly surprised. I hadn’t found a black and white cookie I liked in LA for years until now. If you ever miss New York or the hustle and bustle of a deli with charm and character, make your way to Belle’s.“

“I never leave reviews bc who has the time but the Mariposa sandwich was quite literally the best sandwich I’ve ever had, vegan or not. I know meat eaters and vegans alike would be so satiated by this. It was as flavorful and mouthwatering as anything. Fr was dancing in my seat. They have mostly meat items besides this. Atmosphere and service was impeccable too. 10/10 recommend fr.“

“5/5 dinner! The Good A$$ Salad could be appropriately named the Big A$$ Salad, as it’s huge! The flavors of the dishes are amazing and I love that they use local and seasonal ingredients. The tostadas were WOW!
The coffee drinker in my life loves their coffee. As for me, I wish they had more tea options.
Dietary restrictions: Great options and very accommodating to dietary restrictions“

“Nice vibes, convenient location with easy parking, beautiful decor. Service was lacking, but understand there is a labor shortage right now, perhaps that's to blame here. Bodega sando was perfection! Pastries were alright...most looked better than they tasted. I'd say they were good but not great.“

“I was looking for a local coffee shop halfway between the Palisades and BH and Clark Street popped up. What a little gem. Tucked into a small shopping center with plenty of metered parking in front, was this gem of a local spot that not only had great coffee but the most drool-worthy selection of fresh-baked goods. It was a beautiful day so my friend and I sat outside at one of the few tables and enjoyed a beautiful catch-up after not seeing each other for eight years. So happy to know about Clark Street. I believe they’ve got locations in other neighborhoods around the city. Perfection!“

“Tends to be quite full seating wise, so if you want to grab a table you'll want to get there early. Fast and kind staff. Food and coffee are good, though the sandwiches are a bit overpriced imo. Free wifi and some wall plugs at tables. Also saw some people bring their dogs. It's close to metro&bus station too“

“Visiting from out of town - we tried the Chagaccino, Ube latte, and Andante which really hit the spot. The food was good (porridge and prosciutto toast) and quick, considering there is usually quite a line. Service was great!
Parking is hard to find so it's worth sitting and enjoying brunch. Outside seating is standard but imagine on a summer day it would be perfect.“

“Service is ok. Taiwanese food here is pretty good, we ordered few dishes, even though they are not spicy but they had good flavors. The place is super busy and we had to wait in line for almost an hour. But still recommend this place due to great food.“

“CAFE NIDO is a cute and trendy coffee bar tucked in an alleyway on Hyperion avenue in Silver Lake. They have a modest selection of coffee (hot/cold), teas, pastries and sandwiches. Moreover, their huge open indoor/outdoor space surrounded by trees provides an oasis like atmosphere for customers. Thereby, an ideal spot to read a book while sipping your coffee.
Furthermore, this coffee shop has a mini trailer parked full of used books and customers can rent a book for free while they sip their coffee/tea. Anyway, I came on a hot Summer day and ordered a Cold Brew (16oz). It was smooth, refreshing and average in taste. (p.s. I spilled my first drink while I was stirring it; cute female server made me a new one-for free! ;D) I was a lil embarrassed but luckily customers were too preoccupied with their books and laptops. I’m a figure of fascination, something between sympathy and schadenfreude.
Service was on point. Female white Staff was affable and professional. Prices seem a tad pricey and yet reasonable. Nido’s Parking situation was atrocious due to extremely limited space. However, plenty of street metered parking.
Overall, I liked their Cold Brew and atmosphere.“
“MAKISUPA (est 2024) is Silver Lake's brand new coffee bar located right across the street from Blair's restaurant and adjacent to Camelot School. Their indoor has an atrium-style seating area where staff serve coffee drinks. Its tranquil atmosphere definitely attenuates the stress in your work. It’s my first time here and ordered a Cold Brew. It was perfectly made to my liking.
Service was on point and staff was nice and competent. Prices were very competitive. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is a free parking behind the building and surrounding neighborhood.
Overall, I had a good experience and I recommend this coffee bar. I’ll definitely come back.“

“Cloudy has special peanut flavor in it which is kind of interesting. Also ordered the drip coffee which is not very impressive. Has some patties inside which is good for breakfast or afternoon.
A lot of coffee tools and beans for sales in the store.

“Dropped by Tartine for a meeting/work session and to grab lunch. We came at the perfect time, no line, lots of tables and spaces (minimal outlets) but overall great place to grab a coffee or lunch and chat with a friend. The pasty display is gorgeous and there is a ton of variety. We got salmon lox and a green goddess salad with chicken (which was cooked and seasoned perfectly) a simple spot with the focus on the quality of the food - which is outstanding.
Vegetarian options: Salads, tartines, coffee/drink options
Dietary restrictions: Offers different plant based milks and salads“

“Love the ever changing seasonal menu drinks. It’s the brilliant mind of the owner, Frank La, who also happens to be the US barista champion this year. Love the fall pumpkin pie latte with the vivid cream latte being my favorite staple. The flavors here tend to be more subtle but deeper, so it’s not the slap-you-in-the-face high sugar content if that’s what you’re looking for. Love Be bright! Will definitely keep on coming!“

“Holey Grail Donuts in LA is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique donut experience. Their taro-based donuts, fried to order, are a refreshing departure from the usual offerings. The flavors are creative and inspired, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and there’s a good mix of both sweet and savory options. The donuts are light, crispy on the outside, and perfectly chewy on the inside. Plus, their eco-conscious approach, using sustainable ingredients and biodegradable packaging, is a bonus. It’s a bit pricier than your average donut spot, but worth it for the quality and originality.“

“Matcha Village has the most delicious desserts! We tried the Green Vine Cheesecake and the Fruit Box Cake. Both were fantastic! The consistency of the matcha for the cheesecake was perfection. I wish I could explain it better, but it was amazing. Can’t wait to go back to try some drinks and the Peking deck crepe!!!“

“Best best sweet potato cheese pretzel. Crunchy outside, chewy inside, a little bit of sweetness from the sweet potato puree, and the stringy cheese adds special texture and extra fun. I guess they bake the pretzels fresh so it would take a couple of minutes to wait but the pretzel definitely worth “

“Best coffee in the area, i get the cold brew with half-half and sweetener and its a well balanced, just right! Also once you order your drink you are basically next in to be served and you are off so the service is efficient. Seating is good usually pretty crowded but not overly crowded. It’s a good vibe.“

“Guerrilla Cafecito is a great breakfast burrito joint & coffee house from the team behind Guerrilla Taco. The GTLA (steak & papas) breakfast burrito is the best in the city. Tortillas from Mejorado, so you already know. My only complaint… a little stingy on the salsa. But it’s 2024, so bidenomics and whatnot. I get it. But don’t let that stop you. The burritos here are out of this world.“

“Oh HEY! -have you ever been blessed by St Matthew of Silverlake?! His glowing attitude is no match for his glowing skin and yet, if you do do yourself the favor of walking past the cliches of hipsterville like (can’t complain about it really) La colombe, you’d actually find a gem of a spot with this gem of a man (whose glowing attributes really won’t stop competing). And it’s this cafe. Fast with employees who care and a bright chill atmosphere that’s just right to send out all those “apology for last night, I was drunk” texts or “shoot your shot” on hinge (even tho you refuse to pay for it) messages cause the caffeine has kicked in, it’s strong, yummy, well served, and the color scheme is adorable here.
I say you switch it up and go here. I know the song of summer is “espresso” but this place has changed my identity to “Macha Lemonade” and made my heart reliant upon seeing Matthews great haircut at least 3 times a week. GO! It’s the ideal and void of cliches! V cute for a meet up or a date (ahem, men on Hinge)“

“Wake and Late is hands down one of the best breakfast spots in town. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by an upbeat and welcoming vibe that instantly puts you in a good mood. The food is outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and creative. Their breakfast burritos, in particular, are to die for, packed with just the right combination of ingredients to start your day off right.
But what really made my visit special was the exceptional service from Eugene. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Not only was he knowledgeable about the menu, but his friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm made the whole experience even more enjoyable. He made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it, and even checked in to make sure everything was great, without being intrusive. You can tell Eugene cares about the customers, and that level of service is rare to find.
Overall, Wake and Late is a gem, and Eugene truly elevates the experience with his excellent service. I’ll definitely be coming back, not just for the food but for the outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended!“

“I can’t really rate the atmosphere since my food was delivered…I’m going to go visit the restaurant and give the food one more try…but this first go around I was not impressed by the food…the banana bread didn’t really have any banana taste to it and the chorizo croissant was very underwhelming with 2 pieces of thin chorizo sausage which looked and tasted like pepperoni….I gave the restaurant 5 stars because the lavender latte is one of the BEST coffees I’ve ever had…if this restaurant only sold coffee and nothing else they would still thrive….“

“Okay so this place is truly a Gem. I ordered the Jambon beurre and OMG so delicious. I got a whole sandwich which is totally worth the price, my picture only shows half because I inhaled the other half lol. Their baguettes are baked in house daily and it shows, they are crispy and just amazing. Got flash backs from Paris, they were that good!
I also got the pink latte but you can skip on that unless you need a mid-day pick me up. For me it was past noon so I probably should have gotten the lemonade instead. It messes up my sleep if I drink coffee past 12 pm.
Highly recommend this place it will HIT the spot! Staff were also friendly and made sure to verify my order. Great all around“
