“I came to this spot by accident, yes you heard me. I was looking for another ice cream shop and ran across this one. I purchased a double scoop to go. I scoop of vanilla and and one scoop of praline pecan ice cream in a cup survive the ride home. Once inside the house, that ice cream didn't stand a chance. It didn't have that frost bitten taste that you experience from store bought ice cream. I will try again and I recommend going there.“

I’m usually a creature of habit here. I know what I’m getting before I even arrive. I’ll sample the seasonal and the oddball flavors for fun, but nine times out of ten, I end up right where the tourists do. Honey Lavender on a sugar cone. Locked in. No notes.

This visit, I was sampling as usual when a team member offered me a flavor and thoughtfully let me know it contained trace amounts of alcohol. I appreciated the heads-up. I took the sample, said “thank you, that’s fine,” then jokingly added that I was only 92 days sober and chuckled. The look on her face was of nervousness. I immediately told her it was a joke, and she carried on with assisting me.

In hindsight, I felt a little bad for putting her in that moment, but what stood out was how professionally and kindly she handled it. She stayed composed, respectful, and warm the entire time.

That kind of response says a lot, not just about her, but about the team culture at this location.

Sampling here always feels welcoming, never rushed, never awkward, even when customers deliberately make things… momentarily awkward.

“We had the pleasure of hiring the Swrlies team for a couple’s wedding, and we have to say—they stole the party as soon as they arrived!

Their frozen yogurt is delicious. You can really taste the craftsmanship in it. It was a hit with both kids and adults.

The setup was beautiful, professional, and well put together (see picture).

As a vendor, Yardley is extremely communicative and proactive. He has a great personality, charisma, and—most importantly—professionalism.

“Ever since I had Hokkaido ice cream, I’ve been dreaming about it. I love that Indigo Cow opened up in LA, and I don’t have to fly to Hokkaido to get it!

The soft serve ice cream is served in two flavors here. I highly recommend the Hokkaido milk! You won’t get a creamier softer ice cream than anywhere else. I opted to add the mochi, brown sugar syrup, and roasted soy bean powder for an extra $2. It wasn’t bad, but I think I would add warabimochi next time!

I was here after dinner, and there were no other patrons. I didn’t have to wait. The place is small, but there is indoor seating and water station. No bathroom though.

Parking here is tough because you have to find a spot on the street.

We sincerely hope these employees are paid well because dealing with this level of entitlement & hostility takes a toll on anyone's mental well being, especially kind people who are simply trying to do their jobs. Standing for hours and dealing with different and difficult people is not a job anyone wakes up and is happy to take. Now a days people don’t want to deal with people.

This customer created an uncomfortable environment for everyone in the shop, yet the staff remained calm and respectful throughout.

“I’ve loved Foster Freeze since I was a teenager and I’ve been coming here for years. Nothing has changed — it’s still the same delicious recipe I remember! I love that they’re open late, so you can go even when it’s cold outside. My favorite is the pineapple shake — it’s amazing! Their ice cream is perfect, especially on a hot day. “Like many others, I stopped by after having dinner in the area. There is a valet lot but I ended up finding street parking.

The shop has a variety of Thai/Asian desserts and snacks. I came specifically for their mango sticky rice. At $11, I think it’s a good portion and likely to be cheaper than getting it at a restaurant. The mangos are sweet and juicy, the sauce has just the right amount of salt, and the whole dessert is fresh and made in front of you. Possibly one of the best mango sticky rice I’ve had.

I’m not too far and will be back to try out some of their other desserts, particularly the luk chup and the khanom bueang.“

The ice cream was an absolute hit at our wedding. Throughout the night, guests kept coming back for more, talking about their favorite flavors, and raving about how fun and unexpected it was. They arrived knowing exactly what to do, where to set up, how to operate within the flow of the event, and how to serve guests efficiently. Once they arrived, I had complete confidence that everything was handled.

To make things even more impressive, I booked them only a few days before my wedding. “Best dairy free ice cream I have had in my life. Honestly, just overall some of the best ice cream I’ve had in my life. As someone who now avoids dairy, I’m always bummed when a shop says they have dairy free and then it’s only sorbet. This place was 100% ice cream (well, I guess not, since it literally says “not ice cream” on their sign)!
There were 3 of us and between the samples and our choices, we pretty much tried everything. Every flavor was so perfect and creamy. Wasn’t too sweet or overpowering, but also wasn’t bland by any means. I’m visiting a friend and am only here for a few day. In a city with a billion choices, I am going back here over anywhere else before I head home. Awan-der if they will ever open one on AZ. Here’s hoping!“

The ice cream is clean, smooth, and well-balanced, with just the right level of sweetness that really lets the milk flavor shine. It has a subtle but distinct character that feels different from typical American ice cream—lighter, more refined, and very pleasant.
