“I was looking for a local coffee shop halfway between the Palisades and BH and Clark Street popped up. What a little gem. Tucked into a small shopping center with plenty of metered parking in front, was this gem of a local spot that not only had great coffee but the most drool-worthy selection of fresh-baked goods. It was a beautiful day so my friend and I sat outside at one of the few tables and enjoyed a beautiful catch-up after not seeing each other for eight years. So happy to know about Clark Street. I believe they’ve got locations in other neighborhoods around the city. Perfection!“

“There is a dearth of bakeries in Echo Park, so I'm glad Clark Street exists. There seems to be amazing bakers working hard in the back, and I am always happy to support local. That said, I was craving a solid Everything Bagel one day and it was pretty sub-par. I also tried the saffron-pistachio croissant, which sounds amazing, but was too sweet and just not..... that good.... I went back a different time and had similar experience with other pastries.
The coffee is really good, the vibes and ambiance are also great. Can be a good place to take your parents for breakfast went they visit town.“

“I had the egg sandwich and it was delicious. The steamed egg had a great texture, green sauce was delish, and on tartine bread perfect. I recently tried the egg sandwich at the Santa Monica location and it was pretty bland compared to this one. Staff was super friendly and helpful also! Cool playlist - helped the vibe“

“Great dessert shop that serves solid breakfast and lunch options as well!
National competition winning, pastry chef background, James Beard nominated author are just some of time and experience that is the foundation that F+F is built on.
Most famous for the pies, I think I've come to love their cookies even more and are much better than mediocre chains (i.e. rhymes with mumble) and other small shops out there. Textured edges, chewy center, and not too sweet. There are vegan options! I still enjoy the seasonal pies (both the passion and yuzu merengue are great) as well as the new variations of cheese cakes.
This small, cozy shop also serves coffee, espresso, and teas as well as various gourmet grocery items. The team here has always been nice and you can find Nicole here often as well.“

“Holey Grail Donuts in LA is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique donut experience. Their taro-based donuts, fried to order, are a refreshing departure from the usual offerings. The flavors are creative and inspired, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and there’s a good mix of both sweet and savory options. The donuts are light, crispy on the outside, and perfectly chewy on the inside. Plus, their eco-conscious approach, using sustainable ingredients and biodegradable packaging, is a bonus. It’s a bit pricier than your average donut spot, but worth it for the quality and originality.“

“?So delicious! First visit. Referred by a friend who saw a TikTok. Tried the Crème Brûlée this morning. Cracked the thin sugar shell to reveal the soft crème filling encased in fluffy mildly sweet cake -- almost like angel food or funnel cake apparently made with rice flour. If I skip lunch...another donut?“

“CAFE NIDO is a cute and trendy coffee bar tucked in an alleyway on Hyperion avenue in Silver Lake. They have a modest selection of coffee (hot/cold), teas, pastries and sandwiches. Moreover, their huge open indoor/outdoor space surrounded by trees provides an oasis like atmosphere for customers. Thereby, an ideal spot to read a book while sipping your coffee.
Furthermore, this coffee shop has a mini trailer parked full of used books and customers can rent a book for free while they sip their coffee/tea. Anyway, I came on a hot Summer day and ordered a Cold Brew (16oz). It was smooth, refreshing and average in taste. (p.s. I spilled my first drink while I was stirring it; cute female server made me a new one-for free! ;D) I was a lil embarrassed but luckily customers were too preoccupied with their books and laptops. I’m a figure of fascination, something between sympathy and schadenfreude.
Service was on point. Female white Staff was affable and professional. Prices seem a tad pricey and yet reasonable. Nido’s Parking situation was atrocious due to extremely limited space. However, plenty of street metered parking.
Overall, I liked their Cold Brew and atmosphere.“

“Want to get connected with nature and have an amazing meal! This was just what er needed on our hike. The food was so fresh and delicious. You still can connect with nature while getting healthy food. Very kid workers, and it was nice that they provided water for free. If you are hiking, take the time to get more energy and good food!“

“Honestly best pies I've had. Everytime I've stopped by I've grabbed a slice of pie. The chocolate chess pie here is DIVINE, Key Lime pie also really good and I'm not a citrus/lime flavored dessert person, but their key lime pie is really good. Both pies are extremely addictive and I got two other friends hooked on it from just a bite. Would definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing a slice of pie, they're big enough for 2.“

“Great place to get a coffee and do work. I like how the place to order coffee is in a different room from the seating, it helps preserve a quiet environment to get work done. Absolutely recommend the hot tiramisu latte. It comes with a chocolate wafer baton to sip out of and very tasty. Parking kinda sucks but you can snag a free spot near the residential streets. I would definitely bring a friend to this place.“

“Stopped by House of Bread in Westwood, a small but neat little bakery owned by a Persian woman. Tried their country sourdough, and overall, it was a good loaf. The crust had a nice crunch, and the aroma was spot on—earthy and inviting. The crumb, however, was a bit denser than expected, lacking the usual airy texture, and it leaned more on the chewy side. Still, the flavor was enjoyable, and it’s clear they use quality ingredients.
One suggestion for the owner: consider adding a bread slicer. It would make it much more convenient for customers who prefer pre-sliced loaves“

“This place is AMAZING! Love all the beautiful & delicious treats they have on their menu. It is so hard to find an all organic bakery/cafe that not only has great tasting food but the quality is top notch. Love seeing Tatiana, Josh & Mary, what an excellent crew they have. Customer service is always on par 🤗🤍 Picture included last sandwich I had which was amazing btw (prosciutto & cheese). You must try the French Toast & Chicken Sausage Egg Croissant.“
“First thing I tried was Pumpkin Crumb Coffee
Cake that was really, really, really good. I gave it five stars. It was made perfect. … the second thing I tried. Belgian Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies I love chocolate chip cookies, and these were made perfect … I should’ve took a picture of the chocolate chip cookie, but I couldn’t resist myself when I got in my car. I ate it right away. But thank you guys keep up the great work. ….. customer service was amazing thank you Donna. I am definitely coming back. It was a great atmosphere when I walked in shop was super clean … I gave you A +“

“I have been to the 2 Little Tokyo locations and this one is definitely the winner! there’s a huge variety of pastries and things to eat for a quick bite (you might probably have to eat it standing or elsewhere during the weekends since it gets pretty packed and there’s just 3 tables!) but the steamed buns were good!, the matcha mochi wasn’t too sweet so it was perfect, the almond croissant was fine but their specialty is definitely on other pastries! will definitely come back again to try more stuff.“

“Shoutout to the Rittenhouse location. We are at Chop with our 4 year old son who just had surgery. I figured after the day we had let’s have some cookies. I placed an order from Levain on door dash. My wife after the long day she had put in the wrong address on the door dash order and the driver called screaming at me and wouldn’t come 1.3 miles to bring them even after explaining the circumstances. Door dash refunded my whole order without me even asking and I called Levain and they went above and beyond. They gave us cookies on the house and even threw in an extra chocolate chip and delivered them to CHOP. Not only are the cookies fabulous the hospitality is second to none. I am a lifelong customer to this location and want to thank everyone at the Rittenhouse location especially Mat who went above and beyond. Thanks again!“

“This should be what people means when they say something is “inflation-resistant”. I can’t fathom how they are able to provide baked goods at such a high quality but low price apart from the fact that maybe they don’t have to pay rent?? Definitely recommend giving this spot a try if you’re in the area.
I bought a turon and a pandan hopia, totaling to $2. Both were warm (not partially but warm throughout which suggest they were either made very soon before or were kept in a heated environment) and tasted super fresh. I preferred the turon; the outside was crispy and caramelized, and the inside tasted like a plantain but also had jackfruit umami. The layers were clearly defined and the texture was great. Comparatively the pandan hopia was not as sweet, but the filling was soft and gooey. It’s not really a dough-y or bread-y texture but in between bread and pastry, so it was quite unique.“

“This place came to the rescue!!! The wedding cake I had made fell over on the long drive. It was a disaster!! Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. Thank you Sonora Bakery…. You have a customer for life!“

“Probably rank it somewhere between 4 and 5 stars so let's round up to a 5. Got 2 sandwiches, the jambon (ham) and the Daniel Special (with prosciutto) with the latter a little saltier and richer. But both sandwiches lay on an almost perfect baguette lathered with rich butter. Every ingredient seems to be of top quality that creates a delicious sandwich. The other plus is that they offer half sandwiches!“

“Chef Barb and everyone that helps run the shop are just solid, cool, nice people. I was actually kind of shocked to see some of the negative comments on here. Obviously there is going to be some variation and preference differences in flavor/tastes/textures of the many common deserts, but I’ve never been dissatisfied even when some of the desserts have their own unique spin to them. I absolutely love this place and miss living right next door to it! The cinnamon rolls are my favorite, along with the seasonal pineapple dole whip, ooey gooey cakes, and the strawberry shortcake/cheesecake. Def recommend checking them out!“

“I was in the area and so glad to check this cafe out! The customer service was excellent! The pastries were extremely delicious! I got a pastry with apricots and a croissant with Nutella and fruits, and they were both amazing! I also got a dish with eggs i enjoyed very much! I ate everything before I took a pic 😅. Next time I'm in LA I'll update this post! The ambiance was also very nice!“

“This review is only on the bread as it was a X’mas gift. At first I didn’t understand how on earth a loaf of bread can cost $18 and being packaged as a gift?Well, I followed the instruction on best way to enjoy it. I finished 1/2 loaf in December and froze the other 1/2.Now it’s January, I took out the other 1/2 and let it defrost on its own over the counter, then sliced a thick slice, gently toasted and enjoyed it daily. Now, I’m eating the last piece. ?This is by far the BEST bread I have ever had!!! It’s unbelievable how well it freezes and it tastes as good as fresh! It is worth every dollar of it. I would get more except there is only one location and it very far. I will put it on my wishlist to Santa.??“

“Road trip checking out bakeries in China town. This place was my top favourite!! Very authentic Chinese bakery with quality ingredients. Very large portions with reasonable prices. “Wife Cake” was very unique not like typical bakery recipes - wintermelon, variety of seeds for complexed taste and texture. Peanut candies are very crunchy, fresh, not too sweet. Easy to find street parking.“

“This is a Persian bakery. Meaning, the sugar profile for each item is different than a traditional French pastry shop. It's essentially not as sweet. The cream puffs are light and quite good, as are the napoleons - again much less sugar, but good.“

“This meal was the highlight of our LA trip! I don’t know what kind of sorcery is afoot here but this little spot manages to be so much more than the sum of its parts. I felt so welcomed from the moment I stepped through the door and I liked that they have you order and pay before sitting down, it makes the dining experience more relaxing and low key. Loved how short and sweet the menu was, the chef has incredible restraint and a crystal clear vision. Every single thing we had was incredible, the best hk french toast and bolo bao I have ever had, and omg the scallion roll and dumplings. I don’t know what it is about this place but I’m still thinking about that meal days later. Also, the dining room made me feel like I was in a tvb serial from the early 90s which is the highest compliment.“
