“Came here to try the pan dulce and I have to say its better than another bakery I go on Gage Ave. I didn’t like the service though, I bought the pastry cone with the bavarian cream inside and the cashier just threw it first in the paper bag and once I got home the cream came out because the way the lady put it in. I would have put that piece of bread on the top and not the bottom of the bag. But the bread is Delicious!“

“My first time there wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Upon going in they had a nice little crowd, the staff was nice and helpful. So my box of 4 cookies $19 was brownie batter, not bad, could use some nuts walnuts, or pecans, . My favorite cookie chocolate chip also could use some nuts walnuts or pecans and cooked a little longer. Next was funnel cake. Kind of like that one crunchy, not sure if it really tasted like funnel cake, but I liked it. Then cake batter thins not too bad either.“

She looked right through us as if we weren’t there and when we asked a direct question about ingredients she pulled a face as if she was irritated to have to answer. Her and her attitude is the only reason I would hesitate to return - oh, and the fact I was handed a dirty coffee cup, looked like it hadn’t been checked after removal from the dishwashing machine. It’s a Ma-and-Pa shop and I get the impression sometimes family covering a shift is more focused on just doing their job. If you come at odd hours, they might be in the back but if you’re patient and get their attention, they’ll be happy to help. Also, you don’t see it in their display, but I highly recommend the Siopao (idk if I say it right, I always ask for “shoe pow” and then know what I mean 😅)

“If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!
