“What a delightful bakery and coffee shop! I stumbled upon this gem looking around Chinatown for some boba. Their drinks are on the steeper side but they are so good!! Even the cups are cute. I saved my cup after the boba cause the quality of it is so well made that I have to use it again. For 2 milk tea bobas it was $11.They specialize in custom cakes and had a few on display that were mind blowing. The Hello Kitty goth cake was next level.You can find baked treats, custards, mini cakes, and snow ice here ☺️?There’s some seating inside and along the window a few tables and chairs. “I came here to try the cakes. We got the sampler box and was so impressed with the cakes itself. They were extremely tasty, flavorful and rich with flavor. The service was great. It was a small little place with some seating outside. There is also a coffee shop next door if you want to grab some coffee to eat with your cake. We really liked the ube cake, black sesame, Belgian chocolate and lavender lemon.“
“Ordered the 12" Square famous Strawberry Whipped Crème cake for our monthly office birthday celebrations-- and it was a total hit for 40 sweet tooth employees (serves up to 50 I think). Very fresh and sweet fruits and the whipped crème was light and delicious. Cake also moist and just a touch of sweet. Easy to cut but it's a very tall cake so needed help to keep the slices in tact haha I was in awe watching the owner (?) freestyle write a birthday message on the cake with such ease. Very kind staff (even made sure we wanted the nuts on the outside out of concern for any food allergies). Would order again for sure and look forward to trying more of their confections!“

There were a few egg custard tarts left so we took the 'buy 5 and get 1 free' offer. And I must say they are legit HK egg custard tarts ! “We just placed an order for our wedding cake. Irvine was amazing! He shared his favorites with us and we were able to try different flavors. Honestly, we still had other cake shops to visit, but it was his attentive service that made us decide and place an order on the spot. I can't wait to receive our cake so I can show the pictures. I will say that that every flavor we tried was delicious. We had the marble, vanilla with buttercream, red velvet, and lemon cakes. The place is super clean and very well lit. If you're coming from Barrington and turn right on Olympic, it's easy to then turn right on the street that JFB is located. If you're coming the opposite way, Olympic turning left to get there it's kinda dangerous imo!“

“Great lil mom-and-pop bakery! Service is great and has a large shared parking lot. This is a no-frills kind of bakery. Generally, what they offer aren't fancy but are solid basic korean-style pastries. I especially like their white bean pastry. And my goodness, they do not skimp on their fillings! Just that alone will have me coming back. Haven't gotten their cakes but they look nice and are fairly priced. They also sell coffee and korean shaved ice, which I'll have to try one day! I'll keep coming back as long as they're open :)“

“Goldstar Bakery has an incredible selection of pastries at extremely affordable price points! I've been a couple times, this time for cakes - all of which were about $2.50 a slice. Next time I'd go straight for the Chocolate Ganache as the rest were fairly dry but had good flavors. All the pastries are phenomenal, and the traditional breads are perfect for snacking and charcuterie. I'd absolutely recommend for a snack or special occasion! Parking is plentiful and the staff are prompt, so know what you want when you get to the counter.“

“We had our wedding in Long Beach this past July and worked with our local Ben & Jerry's location manager, Kathy Yoon, to arrange for a scoop cart to cater part of our dessert course. Kathy was incredibly friendly and informative, and as our wedding day got closer she directed us to this LA location to finalize the orders, because the Long Beach location would not have been able to fulfill it anymore. This wasn't a problem at all, as she was already working behind the scenes to confirm the four flavors we wanted with this LA shop, and was securing the two servers that would be commuting down to Long Beach that evening to treat our guests. I also called ahead to this location to arrange for a small ice cream cake to be added to the order as our separate wedding cake, and was treated so kindly by the employee that fielded my order. When all was said and done the scoop cart and cake arrived on time, the servers were incredibly friendly and seemed happy to be there, and all of our guests were super stoked to enjoy Ben & Jerry's for dessert & also to help cool down on what ended up being a pretty hot night. Thanks to all who helped make our wedding such a success, and next time we are up in the area we will be sure to come by for a scoop or two (or six).“
