“When I think of Melo Melo, I think of a homey type of feeling of comfort. Not only are their desserts both delicious and the right amount of sweetness, it reminds me of my mom and grandma making Vietnamese desserts called Che where some have coconut milk and it just gives it the right touch of creaminess to the dessert. You can feel the love that was put in with each bite. For Melo Melo, even though it’s not che, I still get that same nostalgic feeling and my heart is full (and stomach too). They have a wide range of flavors, from different fruits, to jelly, to childhood favorites like ovaltine or oreo mixed with their signature coconut jelly, and more! They just came out with a Sunset Series, the Sunset Mango Coconut, Sunset Sticky Rice Coconut, and the Sunset Durian Coconut. I also grabbed a jar of Matcha Coconut to go. I love the fact that the desserts aren’t overly sweet and get the sweetness from the fruit or mix-in. The soothing coconut cream jelly/pudding consistency makes it a dream to slurp or in my case, inhale the entire thing. Also just upon opening the jar I have instant joy from seeing it jiggle jiggle! The Sunset Mango Coconut reminds me if a mango sticky rice dessert had a baby with coconut pudding. Genius! The Sunset Sticky Rice Coconut reminds me of the glutinous purple rice vietnamese che, with the coconut cream on top. Mmmm! The Sunset Durian Coconut.. OMG.. if you are a durian lover… yes! And yes!!! For you haters out there.. It is the king of all fruit.. Only kings and queens can handle it! Jk! It tastes fresh and not rubbery as if it was frozen and thawed. The durian was creamy and custardy, and then adding another layer of texture coming from the sticky rice, and POW some velvety coconut jelly to put it all together. My absolute fave! The matcha coconut was delicious and not too strong in matcha flavor. I’ve had where matcha was so overbearing and bitter that it was difficult to enjoy. Not this one! This one was super smooth and slurpilicious! Right amount of matcha, right amount of coconut where it doesn’t overpower the green tea, great texture and enjoyable! Yes I devoured that! Basically I inhaled everything because the desserts were light and not heavy! I can totally eat this for days!!! So whoever said they don’t have room for dessert.. that’s a lie because there is room for Melo Melo!“

“The pastries taste as good as they look for sure! The Earl Grey macaron is absolutely the best. The pistache was good...not super sweet. I dropped the box so I can't show you a pic unfortunately. The staff is also really sweet and patient.“

“Like many others, I stopped by after having dinner in the area. There is a valet lot but I ended up finding street parking.

The shop has a variety of Thai/Asian desserts and snacks. I came specifically for their mango sticky rice. At $11, I think it’s a good portion and likely to be cheaper than getting it at a restaurant. The mangos are sweet and juicy, the sauce has just the right amount of salt, and the whole dessert is fresh and made in front of you. Possibly one of the best mango sticky rice I’ve had.

I’m not too far and will be back to try out some of their other desserts, particularly the luk chup and the khanom bueang.“

“Pretty good bingsu! Not the best I've had but not bad either. We had the hojicha flavor and it was refreshing. The almond croissant was nothing special though, kind of tasted like it had been sitting there for a while so I don't recommend it. Probably stick with the bingsu and drinks.“

“I was introduced to La Michoacana about a year ago and I’ve been going back ever since. I’m always greeted with a smile and the selection is amazing. My favorite is the Mangoneada. This place always has parking, is clean and there’s always a table to sit and enjoy.“

“My favorite place to hang in LA. The staff is super sweet, the food is fantastic, the drinks are amazing, particularly the Ginger Margarita, the atmosphere is gorgeous—whether you’re inside the stunning deco bar or outside on the beautiful patio. It’s a true gem.“

“My husband and I were visiting from Florida and originally came to this area for the tacos. While we were there we spotted this small churro stand and decided to give it a try.

First let me say that the price is probably one of the best i've come across at a churro stand. For just $8, you get eight full sized churros and one dipping sauce. Since it was our first visit, the owner even threw in an extra dipping sauce for us to try.

Now on to the churros they were delicious! You could tell the ingredients were fresh, and they were made to order right in front of us. The owner's recommendation to leave the box open helped keep the churros nice and crispy. We tried the strawberry and coconut dipping sauces, and both were great, but we preferred the strawberry or honestly, no sauce at all. The churros were that good on their own!

Lastly the owners are awesome. They're incredibly charismatic and you can tell they genuinely care about their business and take pride in the quality of their product.

If you're in the area definitely give this place a try!“

I’m not sure if they have parking close by since we walked from a parking garage a few blocks away. We arrived a little late, but the staff were still accommodating and friendly.

The halo‑halo was good, and overall the visit was okay. A simple spot for a quick dessert, especially if you’re already in the area.

“Churros are cooked fresh. They are very long and skinny, so they are more crunchy than a short and thick churro. The dipping sauce we had (guava) was delicious. The Jamaica was very sweet but they usually are so it was expected. Oaxacan chocolate was also unique and tasty.

There was a line when we were there (Friday around 9 pm) but it took maybe 10-15 minutes“

“SomiSomi Little Tokyo serves the same delicious taiyaki and soft serve that we love, and the quality never disappoints. The desserts are fresh, tasty, and definitely worth the visit.

The only challenge is that this location gets very crowded, especially during busy hours. I just wish there were more seating options or a few outdoor tables and chairs where people could relax and enjoy their desserts instead of having to stand or leave right away.

Even with the limited space, it's still one of our favorite dessert spots, and we'll definitely keep coming back!“

“The Kind Dessert Granola is delicious on overnight oats!

I usually want to dress up my overnight oats and found that just oats and almond milk overnight then I add the Kind Dessert granola just before eating and it’s absolutely delicious!!!

And their macadamia almond butter on a slice of toasted French bread is to die for!!!“

“Delicious birria de res(Beef Birria). Recommend the queso birria tacos. They also have another small stand where they sell bacon hot dogs.And for dessert they have other stands. One for funnel cakes and fried Twinkies and Oreos. Another for freshly made churros and crepes. Best spot in L.A.“

“I used to love Beard Papa's and would come here regularly a few years ago. Back then, the cream puffs tasted much fresher and more flavorful. Unfortunately, my recent visits haven't been the same. The quality seems to have gone down, and the cream filling just doesn't taste as good as it used to. The staff is still friendly, and the location is convenient, but the product itself isn't what I remember. I hope they can bring back the quality that made this place special.“
