“...so we ended up here after dinner and honestly needed something sweet to close out the night... the milk tea I got was smooth and creamy and the tapioca pearls had this perfect bounce to them... not mushy at all which is always a relief... the girl at the counter was really patient when I couldn't decide between flavors and just gave me a genuine suggestion instead of rushing me... the space itself felt calm... a few other people sitting around but not loud or cramped... just nice lighting and tables that felt clean... honestly the whole vibe made me want to linger longer than I expected... ended up sipping slowly and not wanting it to be over... flavor was balanced too... not that artificial sweetness you get at some spots... just tasted like real tea with the right amount of milk!!“

“Located inside LAX-C's plaza is ChaTraMue. It's the quintessential Thai tea joint from Thailand. It was established in 1945 and has been trusted for over 80 years.

They have a variety drinks, but they're famous for the very popular Thai iced tea. I opted for the Thai Tea Slushee, my wife the Original Thai Tea and my daughter the Sala Milk.

For the Thai tea, we opted for 70% sweetness and it was still very sweet. We'll have to try the next one down which is 30% next time we're in the area. The Original Thai Tea would've been perfect if it wasn't so sweet and same goes for the slushee. I felt that if it was less sweet, it would be perfect. Ill have to ask if I can bring down the sweetness of the slushee the next time I'm there. As for the Sala Milk, it was a hard no for everyone. I've never had this before - even in Thailand. Unfortunately, my daughter took a sip and was done with it.

Definitely will come back to try other flavors and adjust the sweetness levels of our drinks. Don't forget to grab yourself some tins of tea to take home and make in the comfort of your home!“

“I wasn't having the best day when I walked into Boba Sound in Koreatown. I was frustrated, irritated, and honestly just not in a great mood. The moment I walked in, however, I was welcomed by Kelly, whose smile was as bright as a cloudless morning sun.

Kelly was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave excellent recommendations. I ended up trying the honeydew smoothie with lychee jelly, and it was absolutely delicious—I highly recommend that combination.

What made this visit special wasn't just the drink. Within a couple of minutes of interacting with Kelly, my entire attitude and outlook had changed. Her kindness, charisma, and genuine thoughtfulness made me feel seen and appreciated. She seemed to sense I wasn't having the best day and went out of her way to make the experience better. She even gave me the little bit of smoothie that was left in the blender, which was such a simple but thoughtful gesture.

Great customer service can completely change someone's day, and that's exactly what happened here. I'll definitely be coming back—not just for the amazing smoothies, but for the outstanding service and welcoming atmosphere.

If I'm anywhere near the area, Boba Sound will be one of my stops. Kelly deserves recognition for the exceptional experience she provided. Five stars isn't enough—I would gladly give 20 stars if that were an option.“

“We’ve been here twice now, once during their soft opening and again this past weekend. We stumbled upon it by accident while in Sawtelle, and it’s apparently a very popular chain.

Most drink spots usually have just a couple of standout items that end up being overly sugary or one-note, but I’ve been genuinely impressed with Jam Jam. We ordered 4 different drinks, and every single one tasted distinct, balanced, and fantastic in its own way. They don’t just look great for photos; the flavors are genuinely amazing.

The space itself is clean, modern, and comfortable to hang out in. Unlike a lot of drink spots in Sawtelle, it doesn’t get overwhelmingly loud, making it actually enjoyable to sit down and relax. Ordering through the self-checkout kiosks keeps things efficient, letting the staff fully focus on making drinks quickly.

Easily my current favorite drink spot in the area for both the variety and the overall vibe.“

“I enjoy getting drinks from Figure 8 Tea Project. They are Good but their Prices are a Little Expensive. But they have a Point Card if you fill out 9 you will get a Free Drink. There Services is Good. They ask you if you want your Sweetness Level and if they want you to add Boba or Other Topping for your drink. So I recommend if you want a Good & Refreshing Drink. But I only go there for once a Month.“

“On the scale of Boba, Black Sugar lives in the fresh ingredients and healthier side without being fussy and still feeling like classic boba tea. Both the boba itself and their tea and flavors are high quality and the inclusion of coconut milk as an option makes for some wonderfully rich drinks. I do wish there was an almond milk option for lighter drinks but that’s my only complaint.“

Cheesecake was a little dry and the picture made it seem like there was a lot of chocolate on the bottom layer but there wasn't for mine. Either way, I would eat it again and come back!“

“I'd give this place more like a 3.7 or something, but I just rounded it up. Boba and drinks I'd say is about average, nothing too special. The decor is pretty nice and I like the atmosphere. As for the cranes, they're more on the weaker side and even as someone who plays quite a bit of them, it is more difficult than not to win. They're not stacked up, so you can't knock them in and have to rely entirely on the claws strength, many of which won't even lift it up. There were some other ones like rolling the dice or scoring points, but I didn't try them out so maybe those ones are more generous. Hopefully they adjust the settings abit, but I did have a staff member who offered to move the prizes around. Overall, I'll probably come back at least one more time to try it out, but don't expect to come out with a bunch of prizes. Each game try is about $2-$3“

This place looks super fun. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. They have claw machines, a Photo Booth, a grandma jacket my grandma liked, cool daily deals, and plenty of drinks and snacks. I got their pistachio and mango milk teas, loaded cream carbonara buldak, and Dubai chocolate strawberries to try. While I was waiting for my food me and my grandma had a bunch of fun taking some photos in the Photo Booth. I got the pistachio milk tea with some jiggly soft egg pudding and the milk tea had good sweet, nutty, vanillay, pistachio flaves with lots of actual pistachio bits blended in. Would’ve actually preferred if there weren’t any bits. The mango milk tea was really good and had mango purée, was perfectly sweet, milky, smooth and fruity. I added gooey hot Cheetos corn cheese and flavorful salty soy garlic popcorn chicken nuggets to the buldak to make it loaded and it had perfectly springy noodles, was a bit spicy and oily, and had plenty of salty savory cheesey flaves with sweet pops of corn. The popcorn chicken and hot Cheetos did kinda soggy too tho. The Dubai choco strawberrries MNM. Rich, thick, creamy, sweet, smooth, nutty Nutella and pistachio butter with crispity crunchy kataifi all cut by fresh, tart, sweet strawberries. Perfectly balanced, refreshing and pure deliciousity. Overall this place is a great fun friend hangout spot and is lowkey pretty good.

The donuts were tasty as was the breakfast sandwich I ordered. This is definitely worth going to if you're in the area.“

“First heard of this place through social media and had a lot of hype due to the brand being popular in South Korea. If you love brown sugar or croffles, this is the place to go!

Interior is super cute and spacious, a lot of tables and seats with a small arcade with a LIFE4CUTS booth on the side. A nice extra to the space. I've seen many events that are held here because of how big the space is.

The cafe is located in the front of the plaza, down the stairs of the front of the plaza, easy to spot but at the same time, hard to look for at the same time because of where its located. Parking is free if not staying over 90 minutes and can be validated by HHD staff.

HHD menu is massive, many options to try. The spot is very popular on the weekends and late afternoons. Kiosk ordering is available but the kiosk is a bit slow, unresponsive, and not programmed correctly compared to other cafes. Wait times can get long especially when busy and depending on order, but staff is super friendly and professional.

From the recommendations, their Dalgona & brown sugar is definitely a must try. Although a bit sweet even with lower adjustments, the tea is refreshing on a hot day. Aside from the signature drinks, the Matcha Strawberry Latte is also super refreshing and mixes really well together.

Will definitely be back to try the croffles and the numerous other options in the menu.“
