My friend got Sea Salt, and I ordered Strawberry Honey Balsamic and Sea Salt in a cup.
The portions were huge, and everything was delicious.

I also loved that you can sample the flavors before ordering.
My favorite was definitely the Sea Salt!

The shop was pretty quiet when we visited, so ordering and pickup were quick and easy.

“I find the one star reviews to be interesting. I agree it’s probably frustrating that this isn’t a walk-in shop, but not enough to tank the rating. Seems a bit entitled. The team probably should just note that on the door or on Google.

Outside of this, the ice cream is outstanding, and I do think worth grabbing a pint if you can get through the site, which can be fussy. It’s not impossible. The flavor reviews are subjective. I’ve had ones I’ve loved (there’s salt in the vanilla! The mint is fresh and sans waxy chocolate!) and ones I’d probably pass on (the strawberry is more like sorbet); I still think there’s a flavor for everyone!

“Fantastic gelato! Honestly better than many gelatos I’ve tried in Italy. You can tell that each flavor is homemade and made with high quality ingredients. Apparently the fruit flavors contain more than 50% of the actual fruit! We had the watermelon, brownie, and pistachio and loved every bite.

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. The people working there is nice and friendly. There is a nice patio in the back too. Parking can be tricky but you can always find a spot if you move away from Ventura. It’s open late too, so if you are looking for a espresso in the evening, this may be just the place for you“

“I came to this spot by accident, yes you heard me. I was looking for another ice cream shop and ran across this one. I purchased a double scoop to go. I scoop of vanilla and and one scoop of praline pecan ice cream in a cup survive the ride home. Once inside the house, that ice cream didn't stand a chance. It didn't have that frost bitten taste that you experience from store bought ice cream. I will try again and I recommend going there.“

“Visited here on a Friday evening & it was moderately busy. This specific spot is very spacious compared to other Salt & Straws, clean interior is always a plus. Love that they have a little merchandise store with some benches inside & some open tables outside.

Parking here can be a bit tough though. Either parking on the curb which can be hard due to how packed the Art District can get. The alternate is to park in paid lots that can range from $4- $15+

Staff here is great, my wife and I wanted to try plenty of ice cream flavors and they were really accommodating & friendly.

We decided on a double scoop on a cup. Our two flavors combined were Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough & Hazelnut Cookies & Cream. Scoop sizes are pretty big and pretty overflowing for the cups. It would be perfect if the cups were just a bit bigger to hold the scoops. Although it's a bit sweet, it was the perfect dessert after a meal.

Overall, great spot for ice cream, can't go wrong with any flavors as all the flavors are delicious. Love the vibes here because of the staff, will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area.“
