I did a burger tour around LA last month when I was in town. This place barely made my list of the 5 places I narrowed it down to, and boy am I glad it did. It was the best burger I had during the trip.

I don't know if it's something in the beef blend they're using or if it's just the combo of grilled onions, that sauce, and those beautiful smashed patties, but it managed to be so much more than the sum of its parts. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Bravo.

“I’ve been eating here through 3 ownerships since the 1970s. I really like the new menu, the outdoor eating area and the bar. The service isn’t 5 star but it’s good as it ever was and I’m fine with it. Unfortunately Ihad a very lousy customer service incident on the phone tonight after they botched my delivery order. I ordered grilled cheese sandwich and onion rings. Postmates delivered matzoball soup and rings. Johnny’s customer service lady (didn’t offer name) and the manager refused all responsibility for the wrong item they mispacked; she told me to take it up with Postmates. OK, but meanwhile can I get my sandwich that Johnny’s failed on? “Take it up with Postmates.” When I questioned that logic from a customer service perspective she said “you’re failing to understand!” and told me “don’t get an attitude with me!” I replied “an attitude with YOU?” and she hung up on me. Come on, Johnny’s, this whole thing started with your mistake. Accept responsibility and make it right. Don’t blame delivery. Just make it right.“

“I come here about monthly with friends to catch up. We love the Monday deal and it's such a cozy spot inside and also a great place to sunbathe over a chilled red when the weather is nice. Love the service as well! Wish they just had a homemade veggie burger option. ??“

Off rip, I knew it was gonna be bomb because my boyfriend actually has great taste and recommended it. I mean why would I date him otherwise? But I still had to be the one to taste it to believe it. Those biscuits put them on the MAP! I had lost faith in biscuits & gravy in this city. I have been let down time and time again because it was so weak. But these gave me hope for the future 🥹 I could see this place being my breakfast new normal. “Really solid burger spot. Today I tried the fried chicken sandwich and that might be my new go to! These guys are also the best - they offered to run my food out to me at my car because I was nervous about getting towed (watch out, those tow trucks come out right at 4 pm!!)“

“One of the best meals I’ve ever had in LA. You can tell the chef loves what he does. The food tasted clean and fresh, and every dish was either wholly unique or an original take on simple dishes (a skin on roast chicken that isn’t greasy? Pork belly that’s crispy, yet melt in your mouth delicious? My partner hates pork belly and even he was impressed!) Our party of 4 ordered quite a bit of food and I found the portions to be perfect. I ordered the burger for dinner, and as a “best of list” skeptic, I can confirm they absolutely earned that spot, it was incredible.

The desserts sounded “LA fancy” (pretty to look at, sounds impressive, but mid in execution) and I was expecting heavy, especially with the ingredients listed, but they were the *exact opposite* - meticulously made, not overly sweet, and *light and delicate*. We got the panna cotta, the walnut tart, and the fried pie, and each one was a smash hit. The walnut tart was insane.

They accommodated my sister’s gluten allergy, and we never felt rushed or unwelcome. A new favorite for sure.

“Neighborhood spot attached to a pastrami place. Closes a little early and errs on the pricey side considering its proximity to excellent (also pricey) late night food. Absolutely beautiful interior always playing old movies and current sports. Insanely underused and gigantic patio outside with a roaring firepit and plenty of tables. I really hope more people start hanging out here! It's pretty silent on weekdays and I've never seen it packed.“

“This is one of the best burgers I have had before. Great size, cooked however you like it and the taste is just amazing! I had the chimi burger special with amboy nachos. My husband had the amboy burger. The server was amazing, explained to us perfectly how ordering from here works as we had never been here before. Great price for what you get. Great vibe in the place too. There is parking along the street for $5 flat rate. If I lived here this would be my choice of local burger joint. Couldn't recommend enough.“

“Finally tried the place that replaced Top Round Beef and I enjoyed it! My friend and I got different burgers: 'The Single Roadside Burger' and he got the 'Best Burger on “The Menu”. The burger were filing when paired with fries. The regular fries were good though a little too salty. The Chilli Cheese fried he got weren't my cup of tea. Chili Cheese fried are usually a miss with me. The Birthday Shake was great!!! The shake had a vanilla wafers, confetti sprinkles, and hit my sweet tooth. Both burgers were good, but I would come back and stick with mine: The Roadside Burger.

Parking: There are about 10 spaces and if the lot gets full, turn right, then turn right again until you end up on the back streets and there's parking there!“

“It is the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. Unfortunately there isn’t one where we live. But anytime I am in CA we always go to the one in Riverside.“

“This is a very tasty burger. It's a smash burger but not crispy on the outside which is common with others and I think not very good. The meat hangs over the Hawaiian buns in a delicious way. The fries are better than average as well. It's a little greasy which upset my stomach a little but it was worth it.

So delicious that this first time coming here and being wow by the taste.... I definitely recommend it to anyone... Come and tried it. And definitely dont forget to ask for their special cargo sauce on the side you will want to put it every where. Excellent love it
